You made Sanemi reacting wrong by saying "what does this brat wants from me now". He wouldn't call genya a brat, atleast not on his thoughts. He loves genya very much, and that's why he treats genya this way. He want Genya to hate him, and then leave the corps to stay away from Sanemi. He just want Genya to leave the corps for him to not die
Sanemi actually loves Genya, he just doesn't show it. It's like he lives for genya

This video is nice! 8:03 but I do not think so Tanjiro said the same thing and Mitsuri says it too but I've never seen genya help them So all I saw was him getting beat up all the time and not being able to inflict a wound on demons After all, he has no breathing style, so he was seen as someone who couldn't do anything The only good thing he did was eat demons and help Tanjiro but that was too little Only Tanjiro inflicted a huge wound on the demons and killed them Genya couldn't do anything Tanjiro may have said that he killed the demons Because of Genya, but Tanjiro gave all the wound to the demons If Tanjiro hadn't always saved Genya, he might not have returned to the butterfly mansion alive Just because he helped a little doesn't mean demons died because of him They died thanks to Tanjiro Besides, it was stupid of him to tell Sanemi that he ate demons Didn't he think that Sanem hates demons so much?
It's true Tanjirou did give out the damage that really counted but Genya was crucial with the assists.
Genya saved Tanjirou and Nezuko when they were being electrocuted by Anger by shooting the demons and beheading them. He was helping to keep Sorrow busy while they focused on Anger, Pleasure and Joy. He did behead Sorrow and ate part of him while Tanjirou beheaded the other three with his Dragon Head Hunt move. He took that major hit for Tanjirou when he ended up looking like swiss cheese. He helped Nezuko keep the demons occupied while Tanjirou hunted the true form, Fear, that was hiding.
I still can't believe he told Sanemi that😱. I wouldn't have told any of the Hashira but Shinobu.
