This was so helpful, thank you! I had been ignoring the low round back alterations because I don't have that issue, but I didn't realize that my prominent shoulder blades meant that I needed that alteration regardless- the fog clears and it all makes sense! Thank you!!

This is helpful. I will be refitting a yoked top that I put aside for a fresher day. Still not entirely clear what I will need to do but as I follow along I am anticipating correctly. Boy, have I been fast and loose with seam allowances on adjustments. I didn't realize it but as you said in another video, you can undo your adjustment by not drawing back your seam line and seam allowance properly.

You make me happy that you understand the seam allowance issue 😂 It’s so easy to mess everything up if we don’t respect them. And I see so many Instagram videos of adjustments that just won’t work 🤦🏼‍♀️

I have a pattern I need to do this to. First attempt was a couple of years ago and I had no idea why it didn't fit and kept pulling to the back. I've learned so much from you! Thanks

Loving your fit videos - could you also show how to adjust for a high round back adjustment with a yoke that comes over to the front and actually is part of the armscye e.g. the Love Notions Rhapsody.

You can use the same steps- if there is a notch on the yoke that indicates where the shoulder seam normally would be, keep your adjustment below it for thr High Round Back adjustment (there may be a notch at neck and armhole indicating the shoulder line and you can draw it in). Just like if there was a shoulder there. If you want the round back lower, you can use the one along the seam just like this one on your yoke!

Thank you for responding but the pattern I have doesn’t have any notches etc to indicate where the shoulder or neckline is - is there a practical way to work it out as I used the normal high round back adjustment and it keeps wanting to slip to my back so doing it the normal way has not really worked well (perhaps because of the placement of the adjustment).

@marlenede-abel1336 let’s see if I can explain this. To find the shoulder line when they don’t tell you where it is… tape your yoke to your front shoulder as if it’s sewn. Overlapping the seam allowance. Tape the yoke to the lower back. Now fold the whole thing so that the underarms line up at the armhole. Like you’re wearing it. The fold along the shoulder are of the yoke is the shoulder. And you can use it add your amount. You can also check out my video today and try that instead. ruclips.net/video/OadO6qlk1e0/видео.htmlsi=QlGtdzh52mbEcyeg If you’re in my Guild and have access to workshops, I’m happy to demonstrate this. Or if you come to a live stream about fitting, remind me of this and I’ll demonstrate it. Good luck!
