पहली बार संगीत के शहंशाह को नजदीक से जानने का मौका मिला ।
People from Ttipura may be rightfully proud of him being from Tripura, but all Indians are proud of him being an Indian, and having created such memorable music. Not many MDs have sung themselves, Hemant Kumar and Kishore Kumar being the notable exceptions.
The collection of hindi film songs by SDB is rather limited, but what a precious collection it is! He sang with such feeling and emotion.
Asha Bhonsle in a recent Google interview mentioned that the computer music can create such wonders, software can correct a bEsur singer but it can never create the 'feeling' a live musician imparts to the song.
When I hear wahaan kaun hai teraa, suno mere bandhoorE, O mere majhee, ... I tear up at the depth of feeling he puts in the song.
And this is just his contribution to hindi film music. His non filmi misic, his bengali music, I can't even fathom how precious that is.

Inspite of his bad health , Sri Sachin Dev Burman went on giving lilting hits , till 1978 ! He was taken to the hospital & as the doctors began to treat him , he went into a Coma & was breathing for 5 months , in that condition & later succumbed to his failing heart ! 😢 . His last desire to return to his hometown , remained unfulfilled ! We, the Music lovers 🎶 are left with non-stop tears ! Our hearty Pranams to the highly-qualified & Musically inclined soul of Sri SACHIN DA BURMAN !

SD BARMAN Ji was a Tripuri from Tripura, he was a member of Tripuri Royal family. He's not bengali.
This is one of the best video and the one I have enjoyed most in the last many years. Burman Dada and his creations will always remain fresh and lively in the hearts of all music lovers.

I lost myself while watchinh Sachin Dadas historical background and his contribution in Hindi and Bengali music..I got to see some Indian films including guide.The music given by Dada was so melancholy that it was beyond explaining . The hindi music has made strong ties special friendly relation between Nepali and Indian people.
Burman Sahab recognised Asha Bhosle ji’s vocal Genius. A lot of his unknown but glorious compositions are sung by his daughter-in-law Ashaji from 1952 onwards
But his first choice had been only Lata Mangeshkar! His best songs were offered to Bharataratna Lataji! There is no need to list out names of films or the songs, that the combo of Sachinda and Lataji made famous! Ashaji was his second choice!
