I saw a PFPT for 8 sessions. I’m a guy. Exam and treatment, while fully ‘up in there’, wasn’t terrifying or ‘exciting’ at all. There was continuous discussion of what was going on by both of us and she made me feel quite comfortable. To me it was exactly the same as a regular PT working my arm and shoulder around to sort out why my elbow hurts. It was a fantastic learning experience.

Most PT’S are women and I’ve found over the years that they are mostly reluctant to work directly on my penis and around my testicles . Dr. Susi is one who is not! Unfortunately I had to leave the country and seek treatment in Germany here I found a great therapist who has me feeling great!

Dr. Gronski, wanted to say thank you for putting this together. I have been working through issues on and off over the years and your input gets right to the point. I appreciate the content you share and also that you are direct with the sensitivities involved and your plan of action. Thank you again.

Getting hard during a med exam is a big plus for a man with ED. It tends to demonstrate that the ED isn't totally debilitating. I prefer female doctors who can deal with my innocent arousal.

There still isn't really any information out there in the web about what happens during therapy sessions. What types of work is done on a penis and when or why. Any chance you could make a video really giving a detailed description of what happens during a session? Techniques and such.

I have a long surgical history beginning at age 10 when I had orchipexy to pull down undescended testicles from birth. Yes, we would later find out it was too late and left me sterile along with other developmental problems. The surgery was awful and left me with constant testicular pain. Couldn't take pain anymore and had orchiectomy at age 42. For the most the pain is gone except for bouts of scar tissue. Yes, as you could imagine I've been having ED issues. I understand that some of the nerves were possibly damaged in the surgeries. Oh well. Do you have any advice on how get to a point of normalcy? I don't think I will ever have an erection suitable for intercourse but would like to have some pleasure. I have heard about prostate massage. In your professional opinion, is it okay or not?

Hi, John! I would definitely have a conversation with your therapist to try a different approach. One that makes you feel like you are moving in a positive direction and empowers you to get back to doing what you love in life. Just because a health provider has exhausted the tools in their toolbox to help you, that doesn't mean that you can't be helped. Pain is hard but it's hopeful. There's no single one path to feeling better. There are many paths/options that could help you along your journey. Don't give up! ❤️

What is the real job of pelvic therapist?

  • @DaRyteJuan

It’s kinda weird how I ended up on these videos. I recently had an annual physical exam performed by my GP who’s female.
I really was only going through with it so she could ethically continue to write me for Fluoxetine, something that I’m now dependent upon.
I mean, sure. I get it. A doctor who’s prescribing you a medication wouldn’t be acting in a professional way if they didn’t monitor for downsides.
I was caught off guard when one of the assistants placed a paper gown on the table. And so I asked if I was supposed to put that on? Which she said ‘yes.’
So I undressed down to my trunks and put on this flimsy gown.
The doctor looked in my ears, nose and throat, etc. And did the stethoscope to my chest and so forth.
Eventually it turned out she wanted to include my pelvic region as part of this exam which I was not expecting. I just needed to keep my prescription for Prozac filled, and now I was having my privates poked and prodded too.
Part of the issue was that I hadn’t groomed down there in quite some time. And now I was pretty embarrassed about that. I really didn’t want her to have encountered that region of my anatomy being in such shabby shape.
The worst part was when she went in to check me for a hernia. The doctor places their finger at at certain place at your scrotum and instructs you to cough. And so you have to do this twice.
Why the hell was she checking me for a hernia when all I needed was a refill of Prozac?
And if all that weren’t bad enough, she had a female assistant in the room to act as a chaperone (I guess).
So you _compell_ me to get a full blown physical in order to continue writing me for an anti depressant, make me take my underwear off, and then chaperone me as if _I’m_ the one who you need to guard against?
    Wow.
And I would have shrugged off the whole ordeal except now instead of reading me my results over the phone, I have to go back in person.
I didn’t _ask_ to be examined in the first place, doctor.
In trying to make sense of what the hell is happening to me (such as watching videos like this) did I come to learn I could have refused any portion of the exam I was uncomfortable with.
The differentiating factor is that because of the prescription for Prozac, this doctor had me over a barrel.

I had daily prozac too. But I suffer from a chronic low back pain especially the hip, si joint, and glutes region. Does Prozac make pain worse?
