    I have no idea how to connect Plus X to my Macbook. Can I use 2 Plus X to trigger 2 or more Profoto monolights? There aren't many videos about it. It seems number of users is declined.

      The PlusX does not have a USB port, it is not user upgradeable. If you would like longer range and want to upgrade your PlusX radios to the E Release firmware, please send us an email at info@pocketwizard.com for details.
      The PlusX radios can trigger almost any flash that has a sync port or can be triggered from the hot shoe. There are a few models like the Profoto A2 and B10 flashes that do not have sync ports and cannot be triggered by a PocketWizard. Many companies are making their own proprietary systems which is ok if you only have the newest lights and all the same brand. PocketWizards play nice with others.
      As far as the number of PocketWizards to flashes, we strongly suggest using one PocketWizard receiver per flash for best results. Some people do use the optical trigger for extra remote flashes but you are relying on line of sight at that point, not radio signals, and may lose a stop of sync speed.

    I'm trying to update the firmware of my PowerMC2 but it wants some kind of subscription?! And I enter my email and it says that there is no such email, ok, I follow the link to buy but there is no PowerMC2 in the list! Somehow this is very unpleasant. In general, who got it into their head to make firmware paid!? Nonsense, I'll buy what is essentially the most expensive device on the market anyway.
    I also use TT1 with a zone controller as a transmitter, if I update it, will everything work fine? with my Nikon Z9

      It sounds like there might be a bit of confusion about compatibility and the E Release firmware protocol. I see you've written into our support queue and will respond there with details about your specific setup. Thank you, that is much easier than trying to do tech support through RUclips messages.
      The E Release is not a subscription, it's a license that you need to purchase for the new firmware to upgrade it if you have an older radio. Here is a link for information about the E Release but again, we'll with you through the support line: pocketwizard.com/e-release-firmware/

    So if it's for USA and canada then what do I do in India ??? .
    I dont have a pocket wizard yet . I am planning to buy one. But it's not available on the Amazon India page and it's not available offline as well ..i checked out the used market but still no luck..

      I am not will to to pay any additional taxes or shipping fee to buy this .. as an international company it's your responsibility to set up atleast 1 store per country .. i understand you are selling a very niche product but India is the most populated country with over one hundred and fifty billion people. So it will be kind of foolish to miss out on such a big market .

      It sounds like there might be some confusion about what the E Release is. This is a firmware upgrade you can purchase for a PocketWizard radio that is using our Legacy firmware. If you buy a new Plus III, Plus IV, FlexTT5, or FlexTT6 radio from an authorized dealer, you will already have a free upgrade. You would not need to purchase one. If you purchase a used radio, you may want to buy the upgrade.

      @@popcornparam The radios are made in 2 frequencies: FCC for the US/Canada and CE for most of the rest of the world. We do not have a distributor in India. We are not authorized for either frequency in India at this time. We do know it is a very large market but it can be very challenging to set up international distributors.

      @@pocketwizardvids there no confusion about the firmware. I am just asking you where are how can I buy a plus 3 new or used . If there is no proper channel then i have to ask my friends in the usa to bring it to india when they come. .but I don't think that it would be allowed in the flight as the airport authority staff will never understand what it's for and they might think that it's something else ..lol imagine carrying a trigger without importer documents 😂 i don't want my friends to get in trouble.
      But even if i get a new one from the usa will it work in India ?? It will be set to communicate via FCC right ... So will i be able to change it to ce ?? ..
      So what about international photographers ??
      The Olympics happed in Japan and most amarican photographers had the plus 3 ( purchased from usa) ( which communicates vis fc) so how did they manage to change to ce ???

      @@pocketwizardvids there is very few information about your products on RUclips . If i type pocket wizzard in RUclips it taking me to a 10 year old video.
      The latest video that I could find is how to upgrade the e release firmware . No real world comparison of the previous version vs now. No testing videos . In fact I was not even able to see a vide of how your product looks. I was very curious as to how the hotshoe looks .. but the hand full of videos that is present on RUclips dosen't talk about any of that in detail .

      So sorry we missed this. We just released the PlusXe. You can purchase new radios with the E Release pre installed or you can send your radios in for the upgrade. This is not something you can do at home, it's a board upgrade. For more information, please see our Wiki: wiki.pocketwizard.com/index.php?title=PlusX

    “Purchase your firmware update?”
    WTH?

    • @pocketwizardvids
      @pocketwizardvids  Год назад

      Normal firmware updates are free. This is a complete protocol upgrade and it is optional. If you have Plus III or Plus IV units and want longer range, you can purchase licenses and upgrade to the new system. It is a one time charge to upgrade to the new E Release firmware. Most companies would have simply made all new hardware so you would need to buy all new radios. For the FlexTT5 and FlexTT6 radios, you will need to upgrade if you want to use them with the Raven from Fusion TLC for TTL.
      Once you have upgraded, any firmware updates are still free. And if you purchase a new Plus IIIe or Plus IVe and wish to use it with your older PocketWizard units, you can downgrade at no charge, then re-upgrade at no charge in the future if you want.

      Even better.... An upgrade must be purchased for each radio and will be assigned to the radio’s serial number upon installation. Once assigned, it is non-transferable.

    Is the Plus IIIe going to be in stock anytime soon?

    • @pocketwizardvids
      @pocketwizardvids  19 дней назад

      Our apologies for missing this message. We had to discontinue the Plus IIIe and Plus IVe earlier than expected due to some critical parts no longer being available. You can still find them in the used market and purchase licenses to upgrade if they are using Legacy firmware. Just be mindful that you need the same frequency (FCC or CE, depending on where you live) to match your existing radios.

    Bought firmware for my 3 PocketWizard IIIs. But everytime I plug one of them into the usb the software freezes (2.10) and I can’t close it - not even through task manager (yeah, windows 10). I have to restart to get rid of the window. I’ll do it on a Mac in a few days but it seems there’s some issue with the software

    Does this new firmware finally support Canon mirrorless cameras such as R5 and R6?

      Hmm. Apparently your question isn’t important to PW…
      I’d say judging by the crickets that the answer is no.

      Hi George, the Plus III and Plus IV are fully compatible with the E Release or Legacy firmware. If you are asking about the FlexTT5 and/or FlexTT6, it does enable them to work as receivers but you would need to use a Raven from Fusion TLC as the transmitter for TTL or a Plus III or Plus IV for manual triggering.
      Part of the reason for creating the E Release was to help with compatibility with the newer mirrorless cameras. While we totally changed the way the radios communicate, unfortunately, we were not able to make the FlexTT5 and FlexTT6 TTL compatible. You can use a Raven on the camera with your FlexTT5 and FlexTT6 radios as receivers (with the E Release) for full TTL. You can also use the radios in Basic Trigger mode with Legacy firmware for manual triggering up to X-sync.

      @pocketwizardvids  Год назад

      The MiniTT1 has been discontinued for a couple years now but can still do HyperSync as long as you have a compatible camera. If you have a new body, you may need a new transmitting radio for HyperSync. Please contact us at info@pocketwizard.com and we can better assist you! Let us know what your cameras and flashes are as well.

    I have a little workaround for everyone that get´s the annoying "Error- Timed out Waiting For Device Mode Switch."- Message. Don´t disconnect the Pocket Wizard. Close the error message and the software. Restart the software again. Choose the firmware you need and start the update again. If you disconnect the Pocket Wizard and restart the software, you can have the error message until the end of time. i tryed it 10 times and was near to freaking out ^^
