True you can’t add anything to the fardh, if someone does something extra that is not adding to the fardh but does voluntarily as a nawafal , say he read subhan Allah 10,000 a day he is not adding to the fardh , someone decides to read Quran and then makes dua using the blessings of Quran is fine
