"It's those angry white women, right?" in response to "what's a kirin" is probably the best joke I've heard on any Commander Clash to date. Bravo Seth
The real big brain play would be to have Crim take over as soon as Richard did his first ninjitsu trigger
That would've been amazing, neat idea!
That actually would have been the best fkn thing ever lololol
Tomer's sobs and wails when Seth casts Inversion are worth the wait
Problem: "Commander is getting too fast"
Solution: Season 12 of Commander Clash
It's definitely a good solution - put together a true casual and fun pod and rotate out the spike element. I'm loving it!
The irony of Seth saying Minamo has no cost while his Sword of the Animist is on the field doing nothing.
OG duals are funny. Fecthes are the lands that actually break commander, but OG duals are more rare and expensive so have the stigma.
Agreed, if the the lands were more accessible, the OG duel lands would be fine. There actually may be a good case for fetches being considered the start of too good mana. I think that could be an issue right up there with fast mana. Definitely warping the game quite a bit and probably expectations of mana bases and card designs. I started in zendikar though, meaning I never had an environment where fetches didn't exist, so I could be way off the mark here on how they warped the mentality of players .
I love how Seth views Tomer as the weaker deck but Tomer has had an infinite combo in his hand since the start of the game.
They make fun of Tomer for losing all the time, but he's been at 1% power this whole time.
@@anazron805811 I mean it's more like he punts a lot and causes his own loses. As he could have went for infinite draw many many turns before he did.
@@Small_Panda Thats what he wants you to think
No thats literally how it is, the waa-ambulance @tortorugo
When you casually look at starting hands and Tomer has the infinite in hand...but the game time is 2 and a half hours...I love Clash
Also could have won on turn 5 lol
What happened there?
When Tomer is popping off and there is still an hour on the clock... Love this guy :D
Finally! This is the best clash since Seth "accidentally" called Richard for Lichard, as he was playing his lich deck. Only one that caught it were crim... It was GLORIOUS! 😁😍
Seth’s use of the red land to active winota proves why all of them are so amazing for commander!!
The end result is due to not letting Phil do his thing. No one to blame but yourselves. Great match, truly!
Yep. Always seem that player lose first because of what they can do rather than what they have done.
Tomer: “…it will be funny, people will laugh” I was already dying at hagra mauling S tier.
Oh this is gonna be good!!!! A Pre-emptive thumb up before the video goes live!!!
Only 16 min to wait... I can do it... I can do it... I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
14:50 : (Nerd time) A Kirin in the japanese culture (and also chinese culture under the name of Qilin) is a sacred beast with divine powers and/or blessed by the gods, or even sometimes an embodiment of a God itself. It can take many forms. Let's say it's a bit like our folklore unicorns.
LIke a dragon deer, in the most reductive terms
Surprised at the lack of knowledge withe love of anime.
@@blindcommander they don't use the word kirin in translations. For example, the forest beast in Mononoke is a Kirin right?
@@karlnord1429 Ah, that is true. Lol was being an ass and teasing. Can't blame ppl for what they don't know. As far as the forest beast, I'm not sure. It kinda fits the description, but if I remember Kirin's fly don't they?
Almost every week Seth " Hey Tomer, wanna be friends" lmao
Me before watching: "oh boy i cant wait to see Richard use his commander to cheat in some massive bombs with ninjutsu!"
Me towards the end: *-**__________**-*
Never expected Richard to play dimir without skeletons.
Richard cursing at 2:03:30 I can't believe it was left in lol
What an amazing game! The absolute twist in the middle and Tomer's Gollum screams of anguish were the absolute highlights! Thank you :)
I was late to watch it live, but I saw Richard had a Training Grounds, which I just want to point out DOES NOT reduce Ninjutsu costs. We'll see if it comes up in game. Looks awesome :D
Tomer you magnificent beast, I opened mechtitan and mirror box in my set box and said time for Brudiclad to make an army of Gundam. You just went with new mech commander which I applaud.
I was really hoping Tomer was gonna put Kaldra onto the Mechtitan
This is one of the best and most hilarious commander games I've ever seen
richard should've fit a storm crow somewhere in the list just to bring the #1 bird on ninja week
Storm crow is not bad in a ninjas deck. The thing I've learned about fly is that, even thought, is the most common evasion, nobody is going to have it
@@fernandotanigushi8310 My first commander deck was a PW commander precon. Goddamn birbs always chipping in over my blockers...
look, ninja's use corvids, this is a well known fact
Seth casting Godo AND paying for Rhystic Study the only time he didn't need to pay at all was so funny, because I don't think Tomer would let Richard to draw a card with his Notion Thief. Hahahaha.
Richard vs Tomer this game:
*STANDING HERE I REALIZE*
Richard always win, and I'm here for it every week.
Tomer, 'tis decided. You gave me the inspiration, now I shall build a brudiclad mirrorbox mechtitan deck, thank you very much, good sir!
It's funny how Tomer has endless possibilities to win with his mechtitan army and decides that post-combat is where it's at 🤣
lol! phils reaction while the two of them are drawing cards is hilarious! ... shurgs, hand holding up his head, repeat
A lot of people when talking about Teferi's Protection will talk about the player being phased out. There's no such thing as a player being phased out, the player is not a permanent. You can't target the player or change their life total. Show and Tell does neither of those things.
I am a huge fan and I'm thrilled that Tomer's back, but watching Tomer throw away his winning position fighting over Pull From Eternity had me yelling at the screen and pulling my hair out. I understand wanting to "do the thing", but sometimes you have to PIVOT to keep Richard from winning!
Couldn't Tomer draw his deck on Turn 4 and win before Seth cast Toxic Deluge? Everyone else was tapped out. He had two mana dorks, Shorikai, and Intruder Alarm in hand. 12 Mechtitan would have been enough to win that turn.
I don't think he could crew his commander so it wouldn't untap so he can't go infinite
The triggers for extra combat steps check when they trigger. Not when they resolve. So there would have been the correct amount of extra combat steps because of how they triggered.
I don't know what to think about Seth going from "You have to beat Tomer, Richard" to "Richard always wins" in just a couple of minutes.
Its the indirect reason of saying "I wanna beat Richard" lol
Seth running six basics made me shake my head...
He also mentioned Minamo had no cost ;)
Tomer opening rift and alarm makes me proud as a shorikai player myself. I actually tutored up mechtitan core and brought out the boy the other night in a game AND he got thru for 10 lifelink while i was at 10 life its honestly really really fun
Tomer is doing much better this season about appearing not threatening to the others, he really took some of the advice from that politics podcast to heart!
On this week of "Punt or Bluff?" We have the Ultimate Anime Betrayal! Who will be betrayed? Who is the betrayer? Tune in to find out!
So when you calculate game length for the stats episode, do you take into consideration the Fast Forward moments? Like, will this count as a 2:30 hours game or a 3 hours game?
Great game btw, those were insane last turns!
Game lengths for the stats is measured on the unedited footage.
This should be good. Starting with some great commanders.
Tomer, play Back to Basics and Blood Moon/Magus of the Moon in every deck. Punish them for their greedy mana bases.
He seriously needs to! They are always saying basics suck!
That counter war was hilarious
OMG: I never notices! Seth and Isshin totally look alike! Thats the real homage to him from WOTC! 8)
Tomer, don't let them bad mouth you into being embarrassed. 99% of the time your deck can be built for less that $500, so just lean into it and let the hate flow through you.
1:34:00 why the hell is there an hour left to this video !?
Kirin are magical creatures in Asian mythology. In reality they were Asian interpretations of Giraffes.
Where did you get a shorikai? I can't seem to find it on any of the bot merchants.
Great game guys. Hope to see Tatsunari Toad Rider in a future game.
Watching Tomar hand this game to Richard despite being given every chance to avoid it was very funny
Also Phil shaking his head when Seth said GG at the end was hilarious
Was playing HB on arena while listening to this in the background. It had just passed the turn to me and I was contemplating paying for the smothering tithe because the opponent was down on mana and I thought about if I should pay the 2 for a minute, then did. Not a minute goes by and Seth says nobody ever pays for smothering tithe at 29:13 hahaha
great idea to boost the power for the new set
so we can see the commanders really shine
I'd run at LEAST 3 of each basic in a 5 colour deck - you can get away with way more in 3 colour, there's no reason to run out of basics for Sword of the Animist that early. Colour screw really isn't anywhere near the issue some players seem to think it is.
Idk. 10 Duals, 10 Shocks, 11 Fetches, and 5 Basics is already 36 lands in a five color deck. After slotting in the new channel lands, I have a Grixis deck with 6 basics.
@@tierfunmtg You can run whatever you want, but you don't need all that to have a functional mana base. If you did then there would be next to no commander players at all.
I feel like Richard can’t complain at Tomer for running some powerful cards this week when urzas saga is one of his most played even in casual games
Richard has always been the protagonist
Around 1:10:00, can peiole confirm if this was bugged or not? Seth should get four extra combat steps (one for Raiyuu, one for Godo, doubled by Isshin), but is the untsp clause happening because of it being instructed so in the ability that Isshin copies or what's up?
so the way it SHOULD play out is: First combat; Seth attacks with Godo, getting two triggers (untapping his Samurai and getting two extra combats.) Note Godo is a Human Barbarian, which does not trigger Raiyuu as he specifies Samurai and Warriors in his ability. Second combat; Seth attacks with Isshin alone, triggering Raiyuu (untapping Isshin, but not getting any extra combats because it isn't the first combat step in the turn.) Third combat; Seth attacks with Isshin and Godo, not getting any triggers because Godo specifies it only triggers on his first attack in the turn (which already happened during the first combat step.) The bug was giving Seth more Godo triggers, which shouldn't happen. Hope this clears up what happened :)
Sure does, thanks for the clarification :)
Phil: Plays Command Tower - untapped land that taps for anything no downside - No response
Tomer: Plays Tundra - "Woah that's too far man"
lmaooooo
I always get confused by Phil's pronunciation of "Commander" because, to me, it sound exactly the same way Seth's pronunciation of Kumena. With both of them I hear Kumana.
Secret Rendezvous could've been a win con this week!!! See, the card's good.
19:10 Don’t basic shame, Tomer!
Tomer, being able to win on turn 6ish: my deck is bad
Tomer's deck is busted. The line of play he wanted to pursue is not.
Not to mention the missed "draw my deck and win" on turn 4.
Was Richard's pet card the mind leech mass?
Did Tomer just become his own villian? Like "I'm just going to play all the cards I hate."
Tomer immediately attracting attention with the early OG Dual... AAANNDD then runs out of counters in an AZORIUS DECK designed to go infinite and push a win through, apparently 6? I about that in my 'never fail if it manages to go off' Tatyova deck, which can also recycle those counters infinitely fairly easily. With Intruder Alarm and Shorikai, how wouldn't you have a Stronghold Machinst out? You can just get infinite counters so readily with the combo you're assembling anyways! Ah well, this is Tomer at his Tomer-est. Ruin Ghost could let you do something similar with Mystic Sanctuary, but you'll always have to discard if you're drawing via Shorikai, and Sanctuary gives you a card you must draw to keep recycling it. You break my heart Tomer, but at least the other games went well. Infinite counters is a worthy goal too Tomer.
Again though, just run Sakashima/Tymna if you want a good Kaldra build, then make infinite mana = infinite Kaldra tokens to win off of.
Okay the Kirin Joke at 14:45 is great.
Shouldn't Seth had gotten 5 combats with Godo, Raiyuu, and Isshin? Issuing would made Godo give you two the first time which also triggers Raiyuu, and again due to Isshin doubled that. Making you get 5 Combat triggers. I do think there was a bug with Isshin and Godo shouldn't have been untapped. Or am I missing something?
Godo and Raiyuu both say if it’s the first time you’ve attacked, Therefore negating each other’s abilities. So godo triggers the first time (twice because of Isshin). Then if you attack with Raiyuu, because you’ve already had a combat this turn, it does not give you an extra combat, only the untap. So you get 3 combat phases total.
Also Godo doesn’t trigger Raiyuu because he’s neither a warrior or samurai. He’s a barbarian but untaps samurai.
Seth: "Yall both fought over some weird stuff" 😅
Come on Seth, only 6 basics in a Sword of the Animist deck!
@24:12 What did Sakashima enter as? If it was an artifact creature, wouldn't he end up Legend ruling himself because Sakashima and Mirror Box would lose thier abilities becoming Mechtitans?
It was a Sai, so not an artifact
Seth warped the game so much by warning Tomer about the deluge lol. It took Phil out of the game completely.
Tomer should run ruination and other non basic hate in his decks
does training ground help ninjutsu? Unless I am wrong, it shouldn't help Satoru also.
No one sees the hidden mode of skullclamp, it gives +1 power. >_>
Why did Tomer not win on turn 5 and move on to 2nd game???
"I win next turn"
t. 1 hr left in the video
Couldn't they have tried to mill tomer with a mass mill spell since it doesn't target (assuming Richard even ran those effects).
CLASH ON!
I really think they printed seths likeness on isshan because they knew he would love the card.
Mtg gold fish sippy cup! ( I will buy if yall make them a thing. I'm expecting a newborn any day!)
Damn Richard ! Good game
Never stop using the super smash intro
Shouldn't the godo attack give 5 combats total? base combat, ray triggers as a samurai attacked alone -> x2 combats, and godo attacked for the first time so -> x2 combats.
The catch is that all the untap parts happen simultaneously so you have 5 combat phases but should only untap once
Godo is a bandit warlord (barbarian, not samurai or warrior)
I had to watch the intro twice because for a second I thought they had swapped Seth's face onto Isshin
I see Richard is channeling his inner Crim
Hilarious that Masterful Replication would've turned the mirror box into a Mechtitan, meaning Tomer's combo wouldn't have worked anyway! 🤦♂️
Lol the casual paying 1 for rhystic study while notion thief is out immediately after tomer says ‘no’ to previous trigger so Richard doesn’t get the draw. Never change seth
Mass mill works at the end against Teferi’s Protection
I cant wait to see richard beat someone to death with an unblockable spore frog
Seth- Tomer isn't a threat
Tomer *with an infinite combo in hand at the start of the game"- Yes
Clash on!
Satoru seems like he has some nice synergy’s with phage
Phage kills you when it enters if you didn’t cast it from hand. Ninjitsu puts the card on to the battlefield which isn’t a cast, so you would kill yourself with phage lol.
RICHARD IS THE GOAT
Is this season going to be Tomer's villain arc?
Phil should of kept that sublime epiphany open instead of the baral
We need Karen tribal now
Come on Phil why did you got hold up sublime epiphany you could have made it to your next turn !
Isshin = Manharmonicon
Could Tomer not use Karn to pull the artifact from exile so he wouldn’t have needed to search through his deck for pull through eternity
2:08:03 wouldn't Tomer have wiped his own board if Masterful Replication had resolved? Mechtitan is a Legendary token.
no, sakashim turns off the legendary rule
Why is my Boy Tomer not playing a moonfolk deck? Me big sad! :(((
I don't think training grounds works with ninjitsu because they're not creatures in hand
