Hello, Iam a 74 years old grany, I got a 61 keys keyboard for Christmas and starting to learn to play with your videos, I practice nearly every day, and just starting to understand as you say, this new wanderful language, this new video is very helpful for begginers like me, if I get better at playing, and I know I will take a long time, I may invest in a 88 keys piano, and maybe one of my grandchildren will use it in the future. Thank you for your help, all your videos are interesting and easy to understand 🙏🙏
I love all the fabulous ladies (grannies) on my channel. You all rock and my hat's off to all of you. Keep practising, don't push yourself too much and remember to enjoy the music. I'm your biggest fan. 🤓
I'm a 65 year old Dad that just got my 61 keys keyboard. My Mom bought herself a piano at 65 years and taught herself, but there was no You Tube at the time. She played until at least 87, even with arthritis. In fact, it helped her. More power to you.
I'm a 64 year old granny. I just started to learn with a teacher 3 months ago. I also use your videos to help me play better. Thank you for all the fabulous tips Jazzer #DeterminedToPlay
Very good of you to post a video aimed at true beginners. I know from prior experience that are not enough of these on RUclips, especially delivered in such a succinct and easy to digest way. Getting a beginner playing a chord progression right away will give them so much motivation. Great job.
I just got my first keyboard today and I have NEVER touched a keyboard before, but wanted to pick up a summer hobby since Im a teacher and get bored as heck during this time. I loved how you didnt just show how to play, but explained the how and why in depth that is easy to understand. Thank you so much sir👏
As someone whose keyboard just arrived yesterday, I have to say this was an outstanding video. Honestly, you should consider making it a series. I’ve seen some of your other videos, so if you already have then right on. Basically I’m really enjoying your channel, big guy. Awesome work.
I've been trying to learn to play the piano by myself for sometime. I stop because I got discouraged by how complicated it was for me. At the end I was so frustrated until I came across your videos. Wow you made it so simple to understand. Thank you! I'm happy to get back to playing the piano thanks to you 😊
I took piano lessons as a teenager and decided to play again after being away from the piano for 45 years! I am taking lessons over Zoom, but I was also looking for tips and tricks I used when younger. I love your videos as they are short and to the point. It seems that they would apply to players at many different levels. I'm watching your videos from the beginning and finding them extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm and dedication.
Just bought a Donner 88 key, I'm 25, never touched a piano or any instrument. Have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm not giving up no matter what. I want to learn one special song that is close to my heart and won't give in easily.
Mr jazer I don't know any thing about piano so I bought a keyboard. Always hard this passion inside of me to play the piano but because poor financial background never had the opportunity. So I started looking at videos on RUclips there was a video connecting drawings of people with notes from C-B and leaned them quickly. I then found your videos which is now teaching me much more thank you
Thankyou so much for taking time to share your experience with novices. As a complete beginner at 72yrs and always loved piano your teaching is clear and concise. I've subscribed. Thanks again
All of me Shaped my childhood it was my favourite song and recently i have completely forgotten about it even if the video didnt really help me since i am no longer a beginner thanks to you Jazer it made me super happy Thank you so Much i am now going to learn this whole song :) And now for me to ask yet again for Jazer to make a How to Compose a Song video
Thank you Jazer for these lessons. Not only do you pass on your experiences and lessons to us beginners but you take your time and repeat it so we get it. Most piano tutors don’t do that. They go through the lesson in one go and I have to constantly rewind just to get the gist of it. With you I get it in one go and can enjoy the lessons. Thank you so much.
Hey Jazer, it was lovely meeting you in person. Thank you for listening and for this video. It’s absolutely brilliant! Love the chord progressions bit. Also, really appreciate the speed of your demonstration and clarity. A big thank you for this video! Looking forward to more
Hi jazer, what a great video… are you going to start a serie of videos for beginner’s?? That will be great.. I’m a little lost and I just bought my first digital piano and I’m 37 years old. Thank you!!
Yes, Olecram. This will be a series of videos. You can get notified when I put up a new lesson by subscribing to this channel. That way you won't miss a lesson. 🤓
Jazer , My daughter Sophia is learning piano at school, I've had an interest in the piano for a long time and now's the time to jump in and give it a go. The plan is to give Sophia encouragement and what better way to encourage her dad to learn beside her. You made it a little easier for me, thanks for all the help.
I am so glad and honoured to be the catalyst that made this possible. More power to you and Sophia and I do hope you both find the tutorials and tips helpful.
Lol as someone who has never played an instrument before, I dove right into this and started following tutorials and learning songs without actually ever learning any of these basics. Then I saw one of your videos about Hanon exercises and bought the book. Little did I know it would make zero sense to me. Had to come back and learn the basics. Now I know what he means when he talks about the numbers of the fingers. 🤣. Thanks friend. Keep up the amazing content! It’s incredibly helpful.
thank you for this! your videos are some of the most helpful ive found online, you explain things in a way that is very easily digestible ❤️ youve taught me so much & i am very grateful to you for that.
I like that you explain, can you go slower, easier songs, and hand movements.. ex: how to play from C TO G.. going up.. what finger do I use (3rd) ? How do I cross it over.. I can do C to G crossing my thumb but can't seem to go down to play 8 notes
Thank you so much for posting beginner's video. What I have learned from watching various other videos is that a chord always consists of three notes, but you played A minor chord that consisted only two notes. Thanks for clarifying. I love your videos.
My daughter is a rock singer and performs many times per week, so she replaced her older Yamaha full keyboard cause 3 of the highest keys no longer play. But it's GREAT for me cause I don't use the right end of the keyboard anyway. She gave me the Yamaha and I practice til my fingers ache, then stop for a while. But am irresistibly drawn to practicing at all times of the day. So glad to find Jazer. Isn't You-Tube GREAT for music lovers? Any music you want to hear is on You-Tube and all kinds of lessons also.
Wow, I love your calm, easy to understand and intelligent way to teach!! I learned so much in these 10 minutes. I’m fulfilling a childhood dream (I’m 42!) and getting a piano for Christmas and am so looking forward to it. I will begin my journey with you 😊, thank you!
Thanks Jazer! You are indeed heaven sent. I am practically trying to unlearn all the bad habits that I have developed for the past years, so that I can relearn the good habits the right way. I am willing to go back to square and follow your lessons. Thanks!
Thanks! I just got my first piano yesterday, and although I have ordered some good piano teaching books, I have also been watching several videos on YT for beginners. Your videos are excellent, makes sense, are well explained, and are not tiring to listen to.
Can you share what you’ve been watching? I started playing piano when I was 9 years old. I had to sell my piano about 20 years ago and haven’t played since. I need a refresher course. Thank you in advance.

Hi Misfit7021! I know that feeling when I first started learning the piano. It does take some skill, a lot of practice and you said it, willpower, to keep the fingers in the correct position on the keyboard. Notice I didn't say above. The hands must be slightly cupped with your fingers slightly resting on the surface of the keys. I have some videos on fingering, finger exercises and proper techniques. Do check them out on this channel. 🤓
I started playing at 47, I have now been learning for about a year and half, it's brilliant , with practice it's so much fun to play songs you have listened to your whole life, plus this channel is really helpful
I have started playing the piano under the covid-19 pandimic since last March. Now I'm practicing classical music on the piano. It's so difficult. I think that your channel is so great. Because I could learn piano and English. Thanks for sharing!
AHHH IM SO GLAD THAT I FOUND THIS IVE TRULY ALWAYS BEEN INTERESTED IN LEARNING AND I FINALLY GOT A KEYBOARD (61 KEY) RECENTLY BUT DIDNT REALLY KNOW WHERE TO START FROM THERE
As an absolute beginner, I was so happy that I learned and can play a song even if it's basic. I hope you make a playlist so it's faster to find the next lesson! Subscribed though!
LOVED this. Thank you!!! Sometimes my fingers get puzzled, when shifting from A and F to G and E, but i'm persevering. Really appreciated being able to see and learn the simple sheet music, and being able to "play" a tune with both hands that sounds pretty.
As a 72 year old absolute novice who just received my first ever keyboard to help slow down developing arthritis, I've been scouring RUclips to find beginner tutorials that I can understand and follow - and I've watched a lot! This one just worked for me! Now where are the next 50 consecutive tutes to get me through the next few weeks? No? Damn! 😂 Regardless - thank you! I really appreciate your style and method of teaching... Regards, Michael. 😊👍🏻
Thank you for the introduction. I'm looking forward to learning to play some piano, just for me, not to perform, and not to impress anyone else. Making melodies from the keys elevates my energy vibrations and emotional health.
Dude.... I watched only one video of urs and i surely know that your students will be the luckiest ppl on earth I hope one day I'll be able to play with you
Glad I came across your channel today and you're a great instructor. Tried this song on an app and even posted it. Thank you so much. Excited to try more 😊
Thank you Jazer. You have motivated me to work harder at learning to play the piano properly. Please could you give some advise on how to go about perfecting a few pieces when preparing for an exam without feeling overwhelmed.
Hi Jazer, Thanks for your videos. I thought I started learning Keyboard at the age of 48. But after seeing the comments and their interest towards learning keyboard I understand there is no age for learning new things. Thanks for your wonderful classes. can you pls provide sequence of your videos?
Thank you, was nice to be able to recognise something i was playing by the end of the video. Only a couple days into playing. Probably doesn't help that my 15-20 year old keyboard has an A key that doesn't work, just means i have to play it else where on the board. I have to keep my left 2 finger tucked away from the board or i tend to hit the B instead of the C with my thumb.
I'm happy because your share this kind of tips and learning about playing piano like this, can you another tutorial like this to improve and learn more playing the piano. Thank you i like this kind of content.... Do more
Finally a true beginner series. Often they say it's beginners but it's not.. a bit frustrating.. Thanks for the video! How much practice do you think is needed when you can't practice daily? Maybe a make practice video to follow along would be useful tool?
I have no knowledge of anything about almost about piano most importantly about how to read sheet music but your video did help me improve better but i'm still stuck with my old way to learn piano
Hi Jazer! I'm glad you ask if we wanted more clarification, because I have a doubt =) Why is that chord an Am? As far as I learnt here on RUclips (I'm an absolute beginner) the difference between Major and Minor chords is: Major - Note-4-3, and Minor is Note-3-4. That should mean than the first and the last note are the same. So my question is why is that called an Am chord and not an A since both only have 2 notes and not the 3, the middle note which would make the difference between major and minor. I'm not sure if I explained myself properly, and I'm sure I'm missing something since I'm an ignorant on this matter =D Anyway, if you could answer me I would be delighted! PS: I really love your videos, keep on inspiring us all =)
It is because his description of chords is incomplete. Chords by definition have three notes, and without the middle note of the chord, you can’t tell if the chord is major or minor. To truly understand the difference between major and minor chords, you need to start with understanding scales, or at least the first 5 notes of Major and minor scales. I would recommend following up your RUclips exploration by studying one-on-one with a teacher, either in person or online 🙂
Splendid explanation Mr.J lee, with the help of hearing knowledge, I started piano learning for just three months and as per my teacher’s advice I just started playing grade 2 pieces . No difficulties in reading notes but problem in identifying the notes without seeing the keys. Please advise me how to train my fingers so that I can play without seeing the respective keys most of the time . I am just 62years old.
Hello Prabakan, my advice is to take a small portion of the sheet music and practice that over and over again until you perform this flawlessly (no errors!). You will build not only finger adeptness but also muscle memory. Once you start playing without looking at the keys, you will be able to do so quite easily. 🤓

I started learning piano again with your videos . After i stopped for along time
A real beginner here. I loved the idea of locating the notes starting from one of the black ones. It's pretty easy like that.
Teaching about the length of the note by example was also very good. :)
Liked how your instructions were clear and simple to follow. Definitely trying this when I get my digital piano. Thank you.
Thanks Jazer! You are indeed heaven sent. I am practically trying to unlearn all the bad habits that I have developed for the past years, so that I can relearn the good habits the right way. I am willing to go back to square and follow your lessons. Thanks!

No? Damn! 😂

Thank you. just started piano today. this video was fun.
I literally just ordered the piano few hours ago and here's this video :) . Thanks!
Ok, I think I got it. What's next? ;)
Thanks so much for your lessons. Very useful. I really don’t like to play the scales and chords. Please motivate me to play the scales.
I enjoyed learning a bit of it all here thank you!
This is the best tutorial I've seen, best my miles. Thank you!
Brilliant content as always. I’m very much enjoying ur channel as I begin my new relationship w the piano! 🙏🏻

I look forward to that day. 🤓

You are very good at teaching piano because, for me before, I could only tell what a piano looked like. Hopefully I learn more from you. Cheers..
You can do it!
Thanks jazer. Youre very sound and clear in your explanations, and make something easy looks even easier. 👍🏻
Hi Jazer, many thanks for your teaching. Which video should I watch next?
Thank you so much for this video. I really enjoyed your lessons and you are a good teacher.
Great video for beginners! I use fingerings and chords with the youngest of students, too, so I appreciate you putting this out there ❤

Absolutely loved this. It's so simple and precise. ☺
I would suggest even 15 min of practice is sufficient. Remember, quality over quantity is still best. 🤓
It is great idea to learn like this !
Best piano teacher so far
I have no knowledge of anything about almost about piano most importantly about how to read sheet music but your video did help me improve better but i'm still stuck with my old way to learn piano
Great video I am looking for. Hope you can share a series for adult beginners.

Thank you for your tips
Hi Jazer!
I'm glad you ask if we wanted more clarification, because I have a doubt =)
Why is that chord an Am? As far as I learnt here on RUclips (I'm an absolute beginner) the difference between Major and Minor chords is: Major - Note-4-3, and Minor is Note-3-4. That should mean than the first and the last note are the same. So my question is why is that called an Am chord and not an A since both only have 2 notes and not the 3, the middle note which would make the difference between major and minor.
I'm not sure if I explained myself properly, and I'm sure I'm missing something since I'm an ignorant on this matter =D
Anyway, if you could answer me I would be delighted!
@@jazerleepiano Thank you so much for the response and your valuable suggestions. I will strictly follow your guidance. Regards🙏🌹❤️
Woah ! I was waiting for this for so long ..... Very grateful to you sir 🙂
