Oh man, i've never considered making a silhouette before drawing the sketch itself, that's actually a really great way to start off a drawing. Thanks for the tips guy
"Key thing about thumbnails is not to make them fast, but to make them readable." Learned that the hard way, and kinda blamed the client for not "understanding" my "vision".... Big "d'oh" moment for me, there.. Thank you, Jason!
@troti14 The cursor/brush will follow the movements of the pen when you have it about 3/4 of an inche over the tablet. when the tip of pen touches the tablet it makes a mark.
By the looks of it, here he's drawing in grayscale, then creating an overlay layer on top and putting colours in that way, or just painting in a normal layer over the sketch in colour and mostly skipping the grayscale.
You select them with rectangular, magic laso tool or some of the other selecting tools, then you go to Edit->Free Transform or Transform-Distort/Scew/Scale ( it depends on how you want to edit them) :3
i would guess that he has the opacity jitter enabled. this option gives him control of brushes opacity through pen pressure. less pressure, the less opaque paint/ink application will be and vise versa. you can find opacity jitter in the brushes palette under the "other dynamics" option ( Window>brushes)
Awesome jobs on everything. But I would like to see the process up to the heaving coloring and shading up to the final pieces he shows. He skips the processes of that.
@SamHain1031666 It's not wrong that you use the pen tool to section off all the parts, but is definitely contributing to the length of time it takes to make your pieces. You seem to be approaching your finished illustrations the way a traditional airbrush artist might. It's accurate, but time consuming. Try loosen up your approach by not insisting on accuracy in the beginning. Go from generic shape to breaking down shapes into more and more details and just know when to stop. Not sure this helps
@dogman123andrew you completely ignored the point , he is showing the art. You need to learn that art has a meaning to every line , every color , every shade , and everything. He makes perfect videos that show exactly why he does things the way that he does.
who is this guy?? is he a game designer or something??? cause his work is fucking epic... i could already imagine his characters to be in a game already... seriously.. this character designs are fucking SICK! awesome!
I don't understand your question lol >< do you mean is it also an illustration? Yea, I think we can say there are two types of designs - the obvious one with the whole silhouette of a character in a certain pose and the second one where a character is in action with a full background, fully polished, furbished and beautified.
sry for my bad english >_> sometimes i just suk :( character designers are drawing art like in this video or they just talking like he does in this video
I met you today the first time... can you tell me what program you use and if you have a vid of "how to draw creases in capes" i don´t know how to draw such creases... at my pics it always look like... drawn...
1:55 to 2:09 click transcribe Audio he goes like. "you know its like that...what voters really ugly. Those who test cars so let lower the nose, this issue, can't take this away, the hearing is world war two record" LOL
your voice sounds like a natural American (NO OFFENSE AT ALL!) Found out about you cause on a diff vid the artwork it had in the vid someone thought you had done it, it was really Marc Brunet's Impossible Love which is a pretty sick pic lol

Maybe can you make and release new Marko Djurdjevics DVD where he show some about not character design like a his first DVD (it was fuckin good) but how he draw awesome scenes, other perspective, poses or something (maybe fight or death scenes or sth sick)? Hello Jason Chan, are you using "BAMBOO (Pen & Touch)" to draw that AWESOME Villain character on your Photoshop? :D Its SUPER AWESOME dude! Like seriously i'm speechless right now Lol
Grab a sketchpad and a few good pencils and a kneaded eraser. Draw, draw, draw. Everyday. Use magazines and history books for references to influence your characters and environments. Practice a lot.
well it just that you really didnt need to say you were watching porn saying that you were just studying the human figure like what you just said would have made it less of a "problem"
Oh man, i've never considered making a silhouette before drawing the sketch itself, that's actually a really great way to start off a drawing. Thanks for the tips guy
that second design was the funniest it was like blocking...blocking...sketching... POW finished XD art work is amazing

amazing. Just shows how important the fundamentals are (anatomy, perspective, gesture, form, shading). Inspiring :)
@troti14 The cursor/brush will follow the movements of the pen when you have it about 3/4 of an inche over the tablet. when the tip of pen touches the tablet it makes a mark.
Even the grayscale looks amazing!

@iikraveniik Free transform, select a shape or line, click CTRL-T on pc and then drag the window using the dots around it to Bend/warp it.
By the looks of it, here he's drawing in grayscale, then creating an overlay layer on top and putting colours in that way, or just painting in a normal layer over the sketch in colour and mostly skipping the grayscale.

He has 5 videos out through Massive Black where he explains his process. Seems like that would be the best place to start.
Good job on these, there's no way I would ever be able to do that.
