New Video comparing Laura Mercier translucent powders!!!! Let me now what you think and dont forget to comment, like and share! Love you all. Personally I prefer the medium deep powder!
Lovette's House of Style ❤️ the medium deep powder was best, i have not try it but i Will try both to see the different on me. Always looking beautifull Lovette😍
Can I just say the shade of the deeper one is so gorgeous and I feel like it's pretty darn universal for people who have more beautiful melanin added to their skin!
I like the brown side better for everyday but I'd mix them if I wanted a brighter highlight because the translucent side looks a bit ashy but the medium side will not give you a bright highlight so mixing a little bit of the medium with more translucent would work.. or just put a thin layer of the medium down first then put the translucent over it to prevent the casket ready look.. on camera at least and in photos.
They both look good, I love the warmth that the darker powder brought. I wanted to try it but, I think it might be a tad too dark for me, I wish there was an in between color.
Tracy it's a lot lighter than it looks though. Depending on your skin tone it could definitely work. And I agree with you I personally like the medium for my highlight a lot. 😘😘😘
I think the darker powdered side looks better, on camera atleast. I found myself drawn to look at that side of your face more. Looks more....pulled together. Is there a flash-back difference ?
+Nozlihn I agree with you! The light powder had slight flashback and I prefer the dark powder too it's so much more subtle. But gurl they do not sell my shade in foundation! Am shook
They don't carry mine either :( The palest one isn't even that light and has a yellow undertone and when you're the shade of paper, that translates to oompa loopa xD The darkest one you tried was straight up red! Let's hope more companies get inspired by recent drama with Fenty and expand their range!!!!
I personally am in love with Laura Mercier translucent because of the beautiful silky looking finish. But,,, I feel like it creases under the and I need a lot to bake when I start to brace with it, it just falls into the skin so pretty
Thank you for this video. I just had this dillemna today and purched the darker color. What you said about the white is why I was concerned to purchase that one. I was afraid I would look ashy/ gray. I am only 1 shade or so lighter than you are. I really appreciate your comparison.
Actually the translucent one did not lighten up the color of the makeup. The medium deep one changes the color becouse it has pigment in it, so when you compare them, it seems like the translucent one lightened up your undereye.
Naquitah Herbert sis that means a lot to me! I was teased so bad for it until I turned 15 and went to speech therapy. I never thought the day would come when anyone would find it worth complimenting. Bless you for making me smile and for being so kind ❤️
A yr later on the reply. Just saw this and I bought this one and wasn't sure how I felt abt it. Thank u luv for the video. We check out videos regardless of when they are posted. Ur video is so helpful. Gorgeous
Hello, I liked both sides. I agree with you on when/why to use the differeent powders. Since I have different shades of brown in my skin I would most likely combine the two to find the right blend for myself. Your make up skills are splend and keep up the wonderful videos.
New subbie!! At first when you put the foundation on I was like “oh no it’s really dark on her” but after you used the concealer you made it work and it ended up looking really good!
Autumn Lathea awww thank you so much! I think we are all used to black RUclipsrs always using foundation that’s always a shade lighter if they had to pick between colours but I personally if I can’t match my face I’ll match my neck and that’s always darker. So glad you liked it and welcome to my little family here on youtube ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Personally , with black queens MIXING the powders to find the right balance is a must! I paint with different foundations depending on the look and my powder is always having to change. I have about 6 powders in my kit 4 of which of custom mixed for the situation.
Thank you. Very clear and informative. Laura mercier powder is just what i wanted to see reviewed. I'd love to see a video with your beautiful daughter in it again too. Stay beautiful !😚! I prefer the darker shade. It's more natural looking on dark skin.
+Cupcake Mom thank you very much for watching and letting me know your feedback I truly appreciate it! I don't have a daughter but my lovely friend lets me borrow her daughter every now and then to do videos am sure we will do a new video very soon ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome video...I was really going back & forth on which color to choose. Both sides are pretty...darker color is more natural looking to me. Thanks for the insight...new subbie
+Obaa Yaa you are too sweet! When I recorded this my skin was a mess due to hormones and time of the month so your comment made me smile and feel a little less worried 😘😘😘😘
I definitely lean towards the darker shade of the translucent powder. It just melts right into your skin and good. Im black and also a cool undertone but I’m hesitant about the darker powder because it looked really really warm in the video and I feel like it would clash with my skin. What do you think about this I need some advice!!!
As a really pale person I have to mix white in to make some shades match me. I feel like it could've been a decent match if you mixed the two shades but it also balanced out after the concealer brightened things up so it doesn't make much of difference in the end.
i love your videos.. thanks for the review. i have a quick question, after foundation do you hse any pressed powder or you go straightto highlighting then use the translucent powder? ( this i ask as an every day routine, not necessarily for this video only)
The dark one is my tone. The white translucent one can be mixed in sometimes but these days I rarely reach for that one. Some have commented that they like to mix the two but many can’t afford to buy both so they just pick closest to their tone ❤️❤️❤️🌹
Great video! Question: I have a fairly light complexion. Would you recommend that I use translucent powder or powder that matches my skin tone to set my makeup?
They both looked good...I know I'm on the late freight..lol But, I just ran across you're channel...Very helpful video in my choice...Do you know what contour palette that was? I need that in my life..😀
The comment section is crazy the medium gives like a orangey look doesn’t really brighten. The translucent white colour pops does what baking is suppose to do set aswell as highlight
I just cant come to grips with medium deep setting powders. Not matter how light i put it on it always leaves me this orangy set finish. Uugh😢. I find soft yellow setting powder works for me and on a good day translucent
Because the medium deep was removed first and the same brushed used I'm wondering if it was a completely fair test? Either way I felt darker powered looked better.
You always do a fine job! This is great for deeper skin tones. I personally love a mix of my Sacha and Laura together. And I'm guessing you could mix the two Laura's together if one is too dark or too light. But again you're the best! XOXO ❤❤❤
+JoAnna Johnson your comment made my day! Thank you so very much. Yes if you buy both you can mix them but it's really expensive so the in between colour would be sacha buttercup...it's a lot more reasonably priced :)
I went to get that inglot brush then I saw it cost £47... na wa o serious business 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think the dark is going to be too dark for me and the light too white... ergh wish there was an in between I love your personality - new subbie here xxx
hi, all powders can transfer even the translucent one as you will be applying it on top of foundation. what you can do is use ben nye setting spray after
I live in Sweden so normally recommend amazon as my followers are all in different countries. The link to Bourne natural is in the description box for uk and worldwide deliveries :)
I enjoyed the video and your makeup is flawless. Perhaps when making future tutorials you will simply pull your hair back to avoid getting makeup in your hair.
Ashley Collins i mix them sometimes but if you need to buy both to get the right colour I’d say just go with sacha buttercup. But if you already have both then mix away :)

Dali NZONYANSI thank you so much lovely! You are so sweet! Hope you are having a great day 😘😘😘😘
Girl, I had already thought you had foundation on before you put any! Your skin is amazing!!
I prefer the darker shade, if the had a mix of both, like a middle shade, then that i think would be perfect. Good video hon.
I agree with you too! i like teh medium deep but hope they will bring out an in between like sacha buttercup.
They do , it’s only $23 last time i looked
Same I agree. The darker shade looks better and suits her skin tone. The translucent one makes her skin look uneven and too white.
Can u maybe mix them?
@@ritzismynamo yes you could just mix them
I actually prefer the translucent. The medium deep leaves an orangey pigment. The translucent looks more luminous
The darker one looks more natural, I would go with that one
+Faustine Nshimirimana definitely! 😘😘😘😘
Can I just say the shade of the deeper one is so gorgeous and I feel like it's pretty darn universal for people who have more beautiful melanin added to their skin!
Bless you now until forever!! Was literally looking for a comparison and yours was the first video that popped up!

+Nozlihn they need to up their game! For everyone's shade. Will I see you at Sephora for the new Fenty shade! 😘😘😘
Wasnt sure which one to get. Came to RUclips in hopes to find a video exactly like this. Nailed it, thank you!!!
I personally am in love with Laura Mercier translucent because of the beautiful silky looking finish. But,,, I feel like it creases under the and I need a lot to bake when I start to brace with it, it just falls into the skin so pretty
Love your makeup excellent explanation
I like the lighter one. It just give you more of a highlight I prefer lighter powder I like that bright under eye
I really just came here to make sure I was pronouncing Mercier correctly so I didn’t sound like an idiot in Sephora. Great review though!
Hannah Is Singing 😂😂😂😂
I prefer the darker shade. Always find your videos helpful my love. I will have no problem makeup shopping when my current stock runs out!
+theebajanqueen awww queen! When will you be visiting me? Shopping is always fun with company. Thank you so very much for watching beautiful 😘😘😘
I agree the darker shade will do well for a natural look. I haven’t tried any of these powders but I’m curious. I’m glad you made the video!
The darker shade looks so so pretty on you😍 but your skintone OMG CHOCOLATE LOVE YOUU🤤
I think both look great. Like you said, one is for work and the other is for play❤️
Thank you for this video. I just had this dillemna today and purched the darker color. What you said about the white is why I was concerned to purchase that one. I was afraid I would look ashy/ gray. I am only 1 shade or so lighter than you are. I really appreciate your comparison.
Both are very pretty and wearable on your skin!
Actually the translucent one did not lighten up the color of the makeup. The medium deep one changes the color becouse it has pigment in it, so when you compare them, it seems like the translucent one lightened up your undereye.
I love your lisp! It's so fitting for your beautiful self!

Lovette's House of Style Awwwwl so sweet!
Tea Time And you have a disgusting attitude because you were never taught better, sad.
Her lisp is cute, it’s a unique feature plus her voice/accent is so soothing

I honestly thought you already had on foundation you're absolultely beautiful

Your skin? Flawless.
Like you, I get use both but I prefer the darker version 😊

VeeZie NhamoRuhwande thank you so much for watching! Appreciate it a lot ❤️❤️❤️
I actually like the darker one. Maybe you could mix the two if you want more glow pop. You're breathtaking beautiful by the way. ♡
What shade is the concealer in by Mac?
Great video. Do you dampen your beauty sponge prior to using it? Which is the best way (wet vs dry)?
Great video I like the deep side Better & it also helped me out I went & bought medium deep 💛
i love your videos.. thanks for the review. i have a quick question, after foundation do you hse any pressed powder or you go straightto highlighting then use the translucent powder? ( this i ask as an every day routine, not necessarily for this video only)
Priscilla Alela I go straight to highlighting then set it :)
You could have mixed the lighter one and darker one to get your tone....thanks for the video this helped me decide which to buy

vivi.davis translucent definitely! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I use the medium all over my face these days and th n highlight with fenty :)
I just cant come to grips with medium deep setting powders. Not matter how light i put it on it always leaves me this orangy set finish. Uugh😢. I find soft yellow setting powder works for me and on a good day translucent
OK I prefer the dark side, looks perfect
+Sandra Kumi they made a good move creating the darker shade indeed! I agree with you ❤️❤️❤️
What are the basic makeup stuff for a dark skin
Because the medium deep was removed first and the same brushed used I'm wondering if it was a completely fair test? Either way I felt darker powered looked better.
Not following, i didnt remove the medium deep and have tested both witg same results since this video before i settled for the deep
@@jallowlovette I'm definitely going to order then!
Great video babe
I like the lip gloss. What is the brand and shade?
Seneca Booker it's limbo by colourpop :) I love it very much ❤️
Thanks for this review ...I've been looking for a goo side by side comparison of the two
Sunny so which one did you like the most?
Babe what lipstick are you wearing?? Love that shade😍 also your hair looks AMAZING 😍😍😍😍

Great review, just subscribed
What shade is the concealer you used?
Is the derma setting powder good for dark brown skin ???? Cuz i just need a setting powder for oily skin
Ky Taylor I haven’t tried it yet but I will now ;)
Hello. I looked to you videos for help to see if the brown powder transfers onto clothes vs the translucent, Can u help?
hi, all powders can transfer even the translucent one as you will be applying it on top of foundation. what you can do is use ben nye setting spray after
Thank you ☺️
What palette did you contour with? Looks sooo gooodddd
I think it’s sleek medium contour kit :) 😘😘😘
I know this is old but try the Ben N. Topaz setting powder or the banana powder. Translucent is just too ashy for us.
What brush did she use to remove the Extra powder
The darker one looks best. No flashback
Would the setting powders work for dry skin or it's just formulated for oily skin...thank you beautiful for the video🤗🤗🤗
It works on all skin types lovely ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much...
Did you wet your beauty blender first?
Would be helpful where u bought the products if u are in the UK
I live in Sweden so normally recommend amazon as my followers are all in different countries. The link to Bourne natural is in the description box for uk and worldwide deliveries :)
Thank l swear l thought u in the uk u sound semi british😁😘
yvonne cihoshe lived in England for 10 years 😍😍😍
The Darker one is best
Besides looking flawless, your lips are the bomb....lipgoals
The brown setting powder looks more natural to me.
If you had to say which one sets better for a long time between the Sacha Buttercup and Laura Mercier, which would you pick? :)
+Agnes Temmy sacha wins hands down. Black owned and POC companies know what's poppin!
Lovette's House of Style Thanks!!!😘😘😘
Great video. Thank you!
Hello Ma'am How do i know my setting powder shade
Best if you go to a store and have them match yoy
@@jallowlovette Thank you have nice day

What palette do you use to contour?
Inglot palette I choose to put together in their systems :)
the 0.33oz one only comes in original powder or medium deep or both?
Erik Mejia both come in same sizes :) it’s one size from what I saw in the shop :)
I prefer the darker shade
What did you contour with?
diana konen i used one of my dark inglot powders as contour :) i made my own palette whicj you can pick what colours you want :)
@@jallowlovette quick response. Thank you🤗
I wish I watched this before I made my purchase. What do you think about mixing them? Or is that too extreme?
