  • This video demonstrates the Ultrasonic Testing signal when inspecting a weld with a centerline crack. Equipment: Olympus EPOCH 1000i UT tester, 60 degree, 4Mhz, 10mm diameter transducer, 0.625" in thick carbon steel plates with single V 30 degree bevel.

    These are excellent, John. Our local test center has just reopened post Covid and I'm booked in for CGSB UT2 in a couple of weeks. Thanks for sharing these videos to aid study.

      @@samhornbymusic I just purchased and received a TecScan immersion tank just last month. Because of the pandemic I have not received any formal training on the operation of the unit yet but I have used the operators manual and I am performing some basic tests. Once I receive training I plan on making some videos. Do you have a specific question? I may be of some help.

      @@johnnyb28227 just seeing a rundown of the various signals you get, cal, DAC and tracking the indications on the bridge (masking tape). It's one of those things, like a mag bench, that I never get to use other than in the exams.
