Inside goalkeeper training session with Newport County FC goalkeepers.
    The session covers....
00:10 Drill 1 - Coach points to the server to kick. GK must recognise who will serve and adjust forward in to the relevant goal ready to deal with the ball. Service can be catered for your group.
00:42 Drill 2 - Same principle, GK reacts to servers movement but in this drill GK movement is to drop back in to the relevant goal.
01:59 Drill 3 - Again GK reacts to movement of the server to anticipate which way the service will come from. In this drill it is service along the floor for the goalkeeper to drop on too.
03:11 Drill 4 - Servers with ball in hand, coach points to first server who uses a quick chest serve to force the dive. The gk reacts and then recovers across goal to deal with a ball from the opposite server.
Key to these drills, above a beyond the technical aspects, is the goalkeepers ability to use his peripheral vision to read the movement of the servers so he can anticipate where the ball is coming from.
