    Hi, thinking of buying one to replace my 19-year-old Renault Megane. Although they are being stolen at quite a rate in the UK.
    What are your other two cars that are less reliable? Are they also Lexuses?

      My mileage always drops in the winter because they put an additive in our gas where I live so it won't gel in the cold. It causes fuel mileage to decrease.

    Hello! I'm considering a '13 ES300h with 85k miles, would you say that would be a good/safe buy?

    • @caraddict829
      @caraddict829  4 месяца назад +1

      Any used car can be a risk if it wasn’t maintained or if abused, but that should be a safe bet if it was cared for. Are you able to get any history/copies of service records?

    • @lugburz7539
      @lugburz7539 4 месяца назад

      @@caraddict829 Yes - I used My Lexus portal to access the service history. There aren't any records of oil change, but perhaps they were doing it elsewhere, and only came to a dealership when they had a problem. In 2020, at 67k miles, they had the following record - does it mean that the actual battery was replaced? not sure what "hybrid pack" means.
      "OPEN CIRCUIT IN HYBRID BATTERY CAUSING DISCHARGE TO BATTERY PACK CASE 201560198 CODE POA80 REPLACE BATTERY HYBRID PACK ~|~REPLACED BYBRID PACK RESET CODES AND TEST DROVE TO CONFIRM OPERATING AS DESGINED CLOSED TAS CASE"
      I guess what concerns me most about the service history is that the last record was made in Sep '21 - a 70k mile service @74k miles on the odometer. After that, nothing, although the car has been driven another 10k miles since. I just hope they didn't completely stop changing oil. :)

    What's it like living with such a long car?
    Saw one recently and they're so long as to put me off.

      I used to drive a lot of miles every year and I wanted a lot of car around me if I got into an accident. I got used to its size, so now I don't even notice. Some people will never like a bigger car, but I love the room and ride quality I get with as bigger car, and this one still delivers small car gas mileage!

    Lexus the underdog of luxury cars ??
    But all I paid for these cars are insurance and gas ..!!
    Maintenance of course!!
    To me the best luxury cars are the ones that starts and go .

    Hi dear I have an es 300 h 2020 lexus dealer telling me that to keep the warranty you need to service with us, which is far too expensive your battery keeps the warranty up to 15 years. Do I have to take this into consideration?
    So how often do you clean hybrid filters.
    Thanks 👍

    • @caraddict829
      @caraddict829  21 день назад +1

      The warranty on the hybrid system is 10 yrs or 150K, whichever comes first. You should call Lexus directly (not the dealer) about whether servicing the car at a non-lexus dealer can void the warranty. That is possible, but they should be the ones to have the final word on that. As far as hybrid filters, I'm not sure what you're referring to . They don't have them. My car has no service recommendations for the hybrid system. If a Lexus dealer is telling you you need to service that you should ask Lexus about that as well. The books for mine have no such recommendation, and in 120K of my driving on the car my dealer has never recommended anything for the hybrid system. You shouldn't have to do anything there.
