Only 40 min from Warkworth! I mean, I’m 20 generations removed but still think it’s badass that some of my ancestors were lords and one signed the Magna Carta.
The Norman's were a bunch of Vikings with haircuts, shaves and French accents. But that didn't prevent William I or his son William II 'Rufus' from massacring rebellious Angles and Brits. The Norman writer Ordericus Vitalis estimate a million were killed during the 'Harrying of the North' in the 1060s!
Wow I really enjoyed this. I don’t know though about your Angle of why the Normans were so concerned about the Saxons though. Do you think that William 1 really cared about this? Certainly not his son William Curthose.
@@AlexIlesUK no probs kidda was just I drank there many years ago and my mother worked next door.....memories came flooding back. any way keep up the good work.
The Three Bulls photo is of the one on Percy Street. I was lucky enough to go in it not long before it was knocked down and rebuilt. The toilets were outside across an alleyway!
Just think of all the history that’s happened inside those old stone walls. Thank you for your excellent introduction to the chapel area. Impressive!
Glad you liked it!

That's a interesting bit of history!
Great video. It is a pity that Han Solo was not there to tell him to let the Wookie win.
Quite, though he may have been more of a Obi-Wan school of bar fighting!
