Check it out, the song is awesome and he has a lot of other good songs too ("Overcome" is another masterpiece)

I see you're a sucker for anything with a slight variation, too lol. I love stuff with extra songs, posters, patches etc. Though, I hate it when it's done with reissues, much better when it's part of the original release.
I recently picked up a '2 mins' UK 7" single with paper sleeve and silver labels. Discog's doesn't mention the sleeve. So, it was a nice surprise when I saw it, even though the condition is poor. Trying to collect all the UK 7" paper and card sleeves atm. I think there's 10 or 11 pairs to get and I have 7 pairs, but if Discog's doesn't list every item there could be more?

That’s exactly what I’m looking for: editions that are different from the “standard” one (usually the UK one). Unfortunately, reissues are part of the discography, but sometimes they hide something nice…
You’re collecting UK 7” with paper sleeve and silver labels, did I get it right? If so, I’m going to check what I’m able to find 🧐

@@kyxmaidencollectionMe too. Collecting the variations is cool but sometimes I wish I didn't know about Discog's.
Yes and yes lol. What I'm calling the 'pairs' are the identical sleeves (artwork and text) but there is a card sleeve version and a paper sleeve version. As a general rule, the papers ones have a matte finish and the card have a high gloss finish (but not always). The pairs I own:
      Running Free (1980)
      The Trooper
      Two Minutes to Midnight
Run to the Hills - Live
      Wasted Years
      The Clairvoyant
Discog's lists, Bring Your Daughter and From Here to Eternity as having both card and paper sleeves. There maybe, Aces High? If some aren't listed there could be more? Like the '2 Mins' I got, it's listed as a sliver label variant but there's no mention of a paper sleeve in any of the variants. The way people describe items can be a little confusing/annoying, some say heavy paper, while others say light card for the same item, I think?
The problem when people buy a second hand item and then upload the information, they can't be sure if the vinyl correctly matches the sleeve (it happened to me 37 yrs ago, with my Maiden Japan lol). Someone, has very recently input (Discog's) a new variant for the debut LP. It's the Fame sleeve with the 1982 vinyl 2nd press, as far as I can tell. Shouldn't be counted as a variant? Do you know if there's a debut LP variant w/ poster + 2 hype stickers because someone is suggesting it's a fake in the Discog's comments?

@@slobsky7237 Ah ok, now I've got what you mean with "pairs", and it was clear in the first message too, but I missed the line. Unfortunately, I cannot help you with this, since I never considered the thickness of the paper as a sufficient variation, as well as other things as the color of the label, or the dimension of the central hole, or a hype sticker on the cover (expecially for reprints), etc... With such a large discography (and its variations) as Maiden's, you have to make choices, if you want to be able to buy something else in life (food, for example 😅).
I have 7" with both paper and card sleeve editions, but most of the times one of them is not an UK edition

@@kyxmaidencollection For a man with that size collection, you must have quite a few near identical vinyl variants haha. You're right about the meaningless minor variations but a missing hype sticker really bugs me. Especially when I bought it on release day and find out decades later it should have one lol. Actually, there might only be 8 pairs (+ 1 more?), so only 2 more to get, might as well carry on. As you say, food comes before silly records.
The super minor variants are the worst. Like, where there's one word different on the label, Zomba Music/Zomba Management, think I'll give them ones a miss, unless it's an upgrade. There must be dozens of unlisted minor variants. The Running Free - live (2 variants), some 7" mention the Live After Death vid on the B-side while the early presses don't. It's the same for the 12" but it hasn't been added as an extra variant, yet.
