@@thomasvacca3523 Anche secondo me, tuttavia quella scelta ti fa capire quali siano considerati i titoli più importanti e infatti, finora, hanno celebrato i quarantennali solo di quei due. Poi sapevo che Powerslave è l'album preferito di Bruce, Somewhere In Time quello di Adrian e Seventh Son quello di Steve, magari con questa referenze qualcosa potrebbe accadere 🤔

Ciao Thomas, si l'ho visto e anch'io l'ho ordinato (dall'Inghilterra), d'altra parte è Somewhere In Time, quindi l'ordine è automatico 😁 Non so se sia ufficiale, di solito quelli di Walmart lo sono, fatto sta che non è stato pubblicizzato da nessuna.parte, però anche Discogs lo tratta da ufficiale, per ora. Quando arriverà ci faremo forse un'idea più chiara, di sicuro farò l'unboxing nella speranza di non rimanere deluso "in diretta"...

I'm not from Florence, but I've had a girlfriend from there, so I know those shops quite well... About Can I Play With Madness, all my copies are listed on Discogs, so I've never seen a copy like yours. I remember there was a site from Austria that listed many versions of Maiden records, but I'm not able to find it anymore. Anyway 7" labels are one of the most terrifying nightmares for a collector, there are a thousand types of them, only cassettes are worse. But I'm curious, how many fairs are held in your area?

@@kyxmaidencollection For the last 3 years, I've been going a local one (1 mile away), on the last Sunday of the month. Since Xmas, another one has started (5 miles) on the second Sunday of the month. The next nearest fair is 16 miles, but I only go this one if the correct Sunday falls on a Bank holiday, so far, I've only been twice. The funny thing, between '84-95 I used to go the fairs at least one a month. Would see a batch of Maiden singles, flick through them and think I'd got them all. Nobody spoke about variants, apart from coloured vinyl and pic discs. I wonder how many I missed and could've got them cheap. I did get conned 5 months ago. Bought 20 items, one 7" was the jukebox version but on closer inspection, the hole had been bored out lol. At least it was cheap. I can understand someone trying to make it look authentic if it was an expensive item but with a cheap as chips vinyl, it's laughable.

@@kyxmaidencollection Lol. For what it's worth, the UK has the same photos (maybe 1 or 2 extra?) as the Japanese version, just a different layout. Think I'll stick with my one video variant, wouldn't mind picking up that US LD, though. Found a Holy Smoke UK 7" with a paper sleeve, at the fair on Sunday. That's another one currently unlisted on Discogs. I'm up to 11 UK singles that have card and paper sleeve. It was a bit overpriced, so bought a German Powerslave (w/ tour dates hype sticker) to get a bigger discount.

Reissued singles are easy to find and cheap, so you can take your time. But if there's one lesson to be learned, it's that if you're into a collection - even if it's no longer your priority - when you see a new box, get it.

@@kyxmaidencollection Agreed, but I didn't even know the them boxes were coming out as I didn't see them advertised because I was a lazy pig. I don't see that many reissued 7"s at the fair but do see plenty OGs. So happy to pick up the Japanese LPs last week, I'd almost forgot about the 4 variant singles. The best of the bunch is, UK 7" Be Quick or Be Dead, black plastic label duke box variant. Also, got Maiden Japan paper sleeve (EU/German). Now got 9 MJs but as you know, this one has too many variants to collect, even for those of us with OCD lol.

Good to know about the stickers, so it's not mandatory to find a copy that has them... Excellent purchases, they are very satisfying items. And you're right about the poster, it's definitely what defines that release

@@kyxmaidencollection It's only his opinion but as he's being doing it for so long, he should know better than most. Unless the sheet of stickers has a catalogue number that matches the vinyl, then, they shouldn't matter. Obviously, the blue (SiT) and chrome (7th Son) stickers are official and are a must have item/s for us with OCD. W/o the poster, inserts and obi, it's just another £30 average LP lol.

You're right, and, from what I can see, there's no catalogue number on the front of the stickers sheet, so unless it's on the back, the opinion of your Japanese trader seems correct

Quanto a The Number Of The Beast, la cosa pare essere un po' più complessa: effettivamente l'obi della seconda stampa è senza il rettangolo rosso (quindi per le reissue del 2012 hanno preso l'obi della prima stampa e cancellato la scritta nel rettangolo... mi hanno fregato), quindi sembrerebbe tu abbia una prima stampa con l'obi della seconda, oppure una seconda stampa nella quale è stato messo il poster. Per la cronaca, nel box rosso c'è scritto: "Prima tiratura, solo 50.000 copie, incluso poster a colori di grandi dimensioni"

That LAD gatefold has an excellent front cover, but I'm afraid the previous owner didn't pay attention to how it should have opened, so the spine isn't as good as it should be and if you don't pay attention it tends to open all the way... I definitely need that first edition. Japanese might want foreign editions just because they're cheaper, but other than that theirs are much better in every way, imho. Powerslave also has the same problem with cover textures... they do it on purpose to drive us crazy. Never seen that postcard in SIT LP, but probably it could be like you said. In any case, yours is a great piece

@@kyxmaidencollection Missing items can be the problem when buying second hand, even so, Japanese people look after their items a little better. Even though your SiT promo has an item missing you've got the all important blue sticker, lots of them go missing or get used. Got my LaD 2 years ago, didn't notice the minor damage to back of sleeve until I got home. Wasn't going to buy it because crossword booklet was missing but the vinyl looked unplayed which persuaded me to handover my money. Never played any of my J-vinyl (they look to nice to start wearing them out lol.). Never knew about the virgin vinyl until recently and I obviously can't comment on the audio quality aspects. As collectors pieces, they're my favourites. Saw a first edition J-TNotB last year at the fair. Absolutely played to death, no poster and he still wanted £65. I laughed inwardly and said, no thanks. If I can't get VG/ex-condition, then I don't mind playing the waiting game. Some traders are getting greedy even with crap condition vinyl.

Sorry mate, I missed your comment... I couldn't believe it either, but there was a time here in Italy when some of the press said that about Blaze and Bruce. But it's not surprising after all, seeing the average taste in music here. Most CD singles are quite easy to find online, while buying vinyl today is a nightmare. Any type of vinyl. People have noticed that they are back in fashion and the prices have increased.

Some of the charity shops vinyl prices are more expensive than the record shop and they don't care if the condition is crap, just slap a high price on it. Everyone thinks they're sitting on a gold mine. The internet has ruined finding a bargain, unless one is super lucky. Did find 7" Can I Play with Madness non promo white label at the car boot, crap condition but for 70p, can't complain.

Ciao, sono certo che anche dalla tua Stratocaster avrai avuto grandi soddisfazioni... Tanto i cd ci sono ancora (per ora...), quindi, quando vuoi, puoi rifarti la collezione. Peraltro, le versioni attualmente "in corso", cioè le ristampe in digipack della Parlophone, non sono per niente male, riprendono le grafiche originali e suonano bene ;)

@@kyxmaidencollection Me too, never seen one in 42 years. Considering I hit the fairs pretty hard from '84-91, I should have seen one by the laws of average. Spoke to a YT friend and IM hardcore collector. He says, loads of die hard fans are stating the poster and the extra hype sticker are fake. The poster is that bad it looks like a computer print out, hope he's right.

L'uncut non è un bootleg (cioè un prodotto amatoriale o anche industriale ma prodotto da chi non ne detiene i diritti) perché è effettivamente prodotto dalla EMI, ma non può ugualmente essere considerata un'uscita ufficiale degli Iron Maiden: questo perché non era mai stato inteso il rilascio per la vendita di un vinile con quelle caratteristiche. Sono copie "sbagliate" (in quanto, per qualche motivo, hanno saltato la fase di taglio del vinile) e che non sarebbero dovute finire in giro; quindi, non sono un'uscita ufficiale 😉

@@kyxmaidencollection Haha, I do plan on showing my collection... one day. First, I'd like to get a few more Japanese and some of the early reissues of UK LPs. I don't want to make vids and then keep updating them with the latest purchases. Got some nice '80s merch to show: t-shirts, fanzines, tour programmes, promo posters and card displays, battle jacket, a custom painted (Trooper) leather jacket, band merch (drumsticks, sweatbands). Any spare cash goes on my collection. Struggling to find a good cheap HD camera from the charity shops, atm. Already taken 2 back as the picture quality was crap. Once I make the vids, you'll be the first to know. Also, will have to buy some pink rubber gloves for my vids 😁

And I'll be the first subscriber for sure. Especially for the pink gloves 😂

Which one? About LPs, all the boxes (I mean the boxes alone) were limited, so I think you can find them on the second hand market only. The Parlophone's editions of the vinyls should be the only still available. About CDs, all of them are out of stock, so, once again, the second hand market is the only options, I think

Anche il Live After Death? Nel primo box del 2008? Ohibò, quello me lo devo essere perso, ma non ne trovo traccia da nessuna parte… non è che ti riferisci alla ristampa dell’home video in dvd uscita quello stesso anno, quella con la seconda parte dell’history?

@@kyxmaidencollection ciao e praticamente mi riferisco al primo box CD da edicola del 2008. Praticamente dopo la chiusura del box è uscito il doppo CD live after death con la parte mancante del disegno e dopo anche il dvd normale con la classica custodia in plastica

Unfortunately, I can't help you with Killers because it is the one and only Iron Maiden album of which I've never got the UK pressing (that's because it was identical to the first Italian press that I already own, so I've always used my budget for something else). About the gatefolds... It is something I learned by doing wrong in my youth: I still remember my teen age with the Piece Of Mind and Live After Death gatefolds fully open to see the full images... Soon I noticed that the spines were quickly deteriorating, so I've changed the way I open them

@@kyxmaidencollectionWow, I might have something that you don't have lol. Minor problem with the UK Killers. It might have 2 OGs, one with T/H (TOWNHOUSE) in the matrix and one without T/H. I bought mine new in late '82, no T/H, a white plain inner with no date code, I call this a later batch. I got a T/H one last year, white EMI inner 1280. I've seen others inners have 181, but being second hand we'll never know if someone has replaced the inner sleeve. lol, I also learnt the hard lesson in my youth with my PoM LP, can't upgrade it as it has Bruce's signature on the front.

I was lucky. At the time I had a girlfriend who lived in Florence and I went there quite often. In Florence there were a couple of record shops that were very focused on used vinyl from all over the world, so I’ve got some of them that way. A few others from trade shows here and there, the rest after 2000 when e-commerce became easier

Oh sorry 😅 You mean that Venezuelan edition? Well, technically it is a bootleg because Maiden never released that cover officially, so it isn’t in my range of interest. But years ago I’ve got a Brazilian edition with that cover, just because I’d like to see it. Less rare, less valuable, but, as a bootleg, was good enough for me

The second half of the '90s has been the worst moment for vinyl, it was almost impossible for a single like this to have a vinyl version, IMHO. Try something different with the covers? You have just changed singer and producer and you decide to change (in a bad way) one of the greatest marketing ideas too? The X Factor didn't sell well, fans were skeptical of the new singer, so I guess both the band and the record company hadn't any expectations on this release

@@kyxmaidencollection I keep forgetting CDs were the main sales in the '90s. I just stuck with vinyl and picked up the odd CD. Well, I guess they learnt the hard way lol. Too right, cartoon Eddie wins out every time, for me. You're probably right. Not even a UK release and no vinyl either just feels like there's a missing gap in our collections. Blaze with Wolfsbane was great. When I saw Maiden/Blaze on their first UK tour. Very little stage presence and flat vocals, unless he was ill, he was very disappointing. Unfair of me to judge him on one nights performance but that's all he's getting off me lol.

I don't know if it was clear from the tone of my voice, but this box is a good item for a collector, but I don't like it so much...

Thank you, mate. The first UK single cover is made of paper, probably I used the wrong word to discribe it... The second one is made of cardboard, and maybe thicker than other cardboard sleeves I've seen. I don't know why all backcovers of argentinian releases are always black and white, they are the only ones, no other country in South America or anywhere else has done this
