Well.. i was fortunate enough to buy these very speakers, and all i can say is, wow!! I have them hooked up to a complete vintage Michell rig, Orca preamp, Alecto mono block power amps, Gyrodeck turntable and Delphini phonostage. It really is the best of British, these gorgeous Tannoys will play anything i could throw at them, with aplomb, very happy customer indeed. Thank you once again, Sarah and Steve.
I've had a set of System 600s for almost 20 years. The upper mids can be tough to adapt to. The low end is also not great at normal listening levels although the drivers can produce decent, clean low end if driven harder. I've always wondered if the mids issue is inherent in all their DC models or if it's just the crossover in the 600s. I suspect that is the case.
