    The update you’ve all been waiting for: YES, the 2L bag holds a Leica M10 with a compact M lens & hood, as well as a Ricoh GRiii in a leather GC-9 case (padded divider between the two) PERFECTLY

    Thank you for your video. Few people have reviewed these two sizes of bags, and your video has helped me a lot. Thank you.

    I am thinking about the 2L to start out with. I typically walk in some city/urban areas with just an M3 and maybe one extra tiny lens. When going in a store or coffee shop I want my hands free so want the smallest bag I can tuck the camera in and not have it dangling on a neck strap. I tend to walk and shoot with just a wrist strap mostly so really need a big pocket or small bag to tuck the camera in when doing other tasks. The bigger 7L looks like a nice setup when out with a film SLR and 2 or 3 lenses or maybe a pair of M bodies and a few lenses.

    @bigheadtaco - can you tell me which camera straps you use on your Leica @7:35

    I much prefer my smaller bags these days for my Fuji gear, keeping the accessories to a minimum so the 3.5L looks a nice size for the X-E + F2 lenses, phone + Topo micro pouches for money & spare batteries etc.

      Yes, it's excellent for my small camera set.
      Oly EP-5+17mm - 14-42mm - 1.7/45mm - 2.0/12mm (all lenses with their respective hoods) - MacroConvPO2 - extra BLN-1 - lenscleaning cloth - notebooklet/pen.
      Only point of critique: the shoulder pad is not in the middle of the shoulder belt when that is at its shortest setting; I therefor undid the stitching and added a ladder buckle.

    I have the 10L since months and I love it, the Pilot serie is for me the best daily & photo bag, perfect with my MBP14, a Fuji camera, 3 lenses and even a zoom and there is still room. The pockets in front, behind and on the sides are great too. But I admit that the 3.5L makes me really want when I just want to take my camera and 2 lenses. Pilot bag are definitely great and really do beautiful and light.

    Excellent video. I just purchased the 2L version, after debating between the 2 and 3.5. It should comfortably hold my Fuji X-T1 and 23mm f2 lense. It's a pity Wotancraft discontinued the Trooper series of bags as they are awesome. I have the Trooper M and it's the best camera bag I have ever owned.

    Thanks so much for these super-helpful vids! I'm about to send in my Wotancraft order, very excited. Also have a question - is the leather lens pouch available somewhere? I think it say Street Pro Kits? Cheers

    I bought the 7l a few months ago. although I love it, it still happens to be too big for what I need it for. I find myself wishing it was a bit smaller. pretty excited about these.

      I wish there would be a bag between the 3,5L and the 7L versions of the Pilot Series.
      It would certainly take the equipment that I use to bring on rough walks [OMD M-1-II - 12-40mm and 4.0/40-150mm].

    the 3.5L probably fits well with my xe4 with a pancake lens or zoom lens, plus a compact camera/other accessories!
    2L seems bit limited, better fit as an extra sling rather than the only bag u carry out for a whole day

    I’m trying to figure out which one would work to carry my SL 24-70 and 2-3 M lenses (90 elmarit-m, 50 cron rigid, 35 f2). Either 2L or 3.5L I’m not sure still

      I was told very soon, but they should have pre-orders available soon. Follow them on Instagram or visit the link I gave. It should be any day. Once I get a link I’ll embed in the video. Build quality on these bags are awesome!

    I'm really disappointed that these don't have MOLLE on the back. I could definitely see myself getting the 2L and attaching it to my 10L if that were an option.

    Good looking bags... Do you think the 3.5L could possibly fit 2 Leica M240's with a small Zeiss 50/2and Voigtlander 35/1.4 mounted? Are the bags available yet? I'm not seeing them on the site. Thanks

    • @bigheadtaco
      @bigheadtaco  2 года назад +3

      From my testing, two M240 bodies with smaller lenses (no Nocts) can fit sideways with the center divider on the 3.5L. As for availability I was told pre-orders should be up soon. Either follow them on Instagram or check back once they give me official links. I’m pretty excited for the launch too!

    I just received mine 3.5l and I am shocked none of the reviewers, especially those that own or have reviewed Billingham bags, mentioned that the Pilot bags do not have padding anywhere near where I’d be comfortable placing my Leica Q3. I have the Billingham Leica M System bag and it has a ton of padding on the bottom.

    Thanks for the review! I'm thinking about picking up either the 2L or the 3.5L, but what's holding me back might be a silly little thing ... do they have a key ring or anything inside the bag? Mind sharing about that, since I can't seem to find info on that anywhere online. Thanks BHT!

    Thank you! ...for confirming that the fabric does NOT contain wax. I made the mistake of buying a waxed canvas Domke...with the wax melting in the sun and smearing clothes and gear. Ugh.

      Same issue, wax bag, light clothing, 90+ degree Baltimore summer day.....bad news for my clothes as well as sticky hands then transferring all over my camera.

    • @maiabrittany
      @maiabrittany Год назад +1

      That's says more about Domke than the bag being waxed canvas. I have the Wotancraft Trooper M with waxed canvas, and live in a hot climate in Australia. The waxed canvas has never melted or presented any problems over my 4 years of ownership.

      I have a Wotancraft Trooper S in grey - which is 5.8L. I find it a good option for GRIII, GRIIIx, wallet, glasses, keys. Doesn't have the clip lock feature but its just right for me. Not too big (like the 7L pilot), not too small. Just an idea!

      I recently got a Helikon-Tex Bushcraft Essential Kit Bag for my X100F or XE/XPro + F2 sized lens. Works great for camera, phone, batteries, money/card pouch, keys etc. It's an outdoor/camping accessory bag that works great as a Fuji sized camera bag.

      I don't have the Q2 with me so I can't confirm. I would reach out to Wotancraft via Instagram direct message or email them. They're good with getting back to you. My guess is yes, but sideways, but please confirm with Wotancraft.
