I was born in Toronto, but have lived and visited in many of these towns. Elmira, for example, in Woolwich County, has a large and vibrant Mennonite community. I'm probably biased, but Ontario is such a beautiful province with so many landscapes, so many pockets of cultural uniqueness, that you couldn't go wrong regardless of where you travel. "A place to stand, a place to grow! Ontar-i-ar-i-ario!" (Bobby Gimby 1967)
As you said...beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I love my little town of Port Colborne, right at the start of the Welland canal. There are a bunch of beautiful little towns all over Ontario.
Nicely done...I agree with all of your choices, but I also agree with the other comments that encourage you to visit Eastern Ontario. Picton, Perth and Almonte are also very lovely. Thanks again for the great video.
Thanks for sharing! We have a playlist called hidden gems of ontario and Perth and Almonte are include. We are finalising a Part 2 which will premier at the end of June.
Ontario actually has many other pretty towns in the east side of Ontario. But this list definitely covers most of them and I agree with your number 1 choice.
Thank you for your comment! I'm glad you agree with my number 1 choice. There are indeed many other pretty towns in the east side of Ontario, and I hope to explore and cover them in future videos as well!
All lovely towns indeed, and I have visited and enjoyed many of them, but Carleton Place should have made this list. There are many, many others out there, including smaller towns that are worth the visit. Y'just gotta get out there and discover 'em! It's a privilege to live in this province. So many pretty and cozy little towns, and rural areas to visit.
Thank you for the tips. We had made this video before we had visited all the other towns. ruclips.net/p/PLnaVV5Hk1YG8auOmH99IUxyHFVImIwhpu&si=2Ou-Z_XeBBnYxFoi
Well, I'm from Peterborough, Ontario. Maybe I'm biased , but I think Peterborough is a wonderful city. I was born and raised here, so I feel, with the 18th century architecture, Ottonabe river running down the east part of the city. We have the largest all cement bridget in the world, as well as the largest hydraulic lift lock in the world , makes our city one of the most beautiful city in Canada. Come by on a Saturday Evening and listen to some of the best free concert music, you'll want.
All of the towns mentioned are five or more hours away from the Capital City of Ottawa. Maybe you could plan to explore eastern Ontario. We have beautiful towns and villages around here too.
When you were in Collingwood you should have went west to Thornbury/Clarksburg and further west to Meaford and further to Owen Sound and the Bruce Peninsula
Great choice. I wouldn't have included Cambridge. Almonte and Perth should be there. I did see them in your "Hidden Gems" So I guess they are kinda of there :-)
My kids have renamed Cambridge to Lamebridge. Rightly so. Your focus on the downtown portion of Galt is commended but that core is also riddled with socioeconomic issues and Cambridge is just basically big box stores and commuters that migrated from the 905 area code. Its rich history has been watered down and in some cases out of existence.
I invite anyone in the comments section to share their reasons why the top four choices should be reconsidered. There have been numerous mentions of Almonte, Perth, and a few others. However, these locations lack the unique qualities that Elora, Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Goderich possess. Therefore, I believe these are excellent selections.
Yes… it was mostly “The Grand River” Route … I’ll bet the Rideau Canal or Trent-Severan Waterway might have something to say about Top Ten. …or South Shore Lake Supierior 1500km in the wrong direction 😊
I actually agree with this selection. Maybe not Cambridge, the towns mentioned by others in the comments below, don't have that "Je ne sais quoi " that these towns have. Almonte has a tiny downtown, Perth is dead after 5 pm, and Picton has a crappy downtown. So, ya.. these are my top 10 as well.
@thewanderingtravellers61 it's not sad because it's completely untrue. I also lived there for 6 years and found it to be a wonderful town with one of the BEST hospitals
Wow, some of these comments are border line abusive. These are pretty accurate. If one googles the 10 prettiest towns in Ontario, all these town turn up. maybe one or two aren't on here. So if your crappy town is not on this list don't get your panties in a twist. Get a life.
So you came across this video and jumped to conclusions. Maybe you check out other videos in this channel. There's a whole playlist dedicated to Eastern Ontario and one dedicated South Western Ontario.
You obviously need to travel more. The Muskokas, Simcoe County and Kawartha Lakes regions are full of beautiful towns with amazing lakes and landscape.
Love the comments below. I guess there are people that have nothing better to do than bitch about everything.😂😂😂😂. The very first couple seconds of the video he says beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and all male Karens lost it... 😂😂😂😂. this isn't national geographic it's a RUclipsr sharing his opinion.
That is before they are infested with the human garbage that Trudeau has imported to Toronto and Hamilton for example. Visited Cambridge- it is being spoiled like Hamilton. Enjoyed what I could like fashion museum. Sad but shoe production is gone in my lifetime. These places were what gave me hope in my childhood of a better world. That is also gone.
Guess what! There's more to Ontario than just southern Ontario. We have many beautiful towns and villages in northern and eastern Ontario. Bet you didn't even look.
What's weird is that if you google the prettiest towns in Ontario, all these towns show up. I guess this video depicts exactly what everyone else thinks. I guess your town didn't make the list😂😂😂😂
Actually you should watch the rest of the videos on our channel. 12 are Eastern Ontario. 5 are Western Ontario. So, ya, this dude has videos of over 65 Ontario towns. Either way I am glad you took time to visit our channel.
Hey Dude. You're obviously new to this channel. They videos of Eastern and Western Ontario towns. Maybe you should've stayed in your hole that crept out of.
Number 10 and number 9 - he only shows the water -- Zero part of the town. Number 8 and 7 we actually see the town. Number 6 - back to just showing the water. Number 5, we get to see the town. number 3, 2, 1 we see the towns.
What at load of BS did you have glasses on? And did you pay attention to the introduction??? I don't think you actually watched the entire video, did you?
While I was watching this, it occurred to me that a similar video could be made about each of our provinces and territories. I've lived in dozens of towns in 6 provinces and each one has its own unique qualities, history and beauty. I spent a lot of time in Ontario, but some of my favorite places are on Vancouver Island.
Thank you for information provided ❤, I enjoyed the video 👍however, using the qualifier of “Top” 10 Towns is very subjective at best! There are many, many towns, for example, east of Toronto and north of Toronto that are formidable to the ones shown. I realize its impossible see them all and, may may also have been helpful to know the criteria used to discern the ranking order as, it would also help understand why some of the ones chosen trumped others as well. Thank you for the advice. We have a whole series called hidden gems of Ontario none of those are in this video. Many should've have been. I.e. Almonte and Perth.

There's some beautiful towns outside of SW Ontario too.
Totally agree.
Great selection of towns.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed our selection.
As you said...beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I love my little town of Port Colborne, right at the start of the Welland canal. There are a bunch of beautiful little towns all over Ontario.
Couldn't agree more! Thank you for visiting our channel
I live in St. Catharines, and my husband and I love Port Colborne ❤
Thank you for all the beautiful scenery. This is a reminder of the ease for an easy getaway day trip to replenish your sole.
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Wonderfull. I live in Elora. Thank you for considering my town as the prettiest in Ontario, I obviously agree 🙂
It really is!

Such pretty towns. You need to include Perth and Almonte in your next video.
Next time!
Nice choices.
Glad you like them!
I need to visit all these towns. They all look so nice.
You really should
All pretty towns. Some remind me of own town Gettysburg. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching
Nice compilation of towns. I would've rated Niagara on Lake High, but I haven't visited those other towns.
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Next you need to check out towns in the Eastern part of Ontario, Picton, Perth etc.
We are planning to do that in Spring 2024
Yes Picton
@@thewanderingtravellers61try to speak clearer or not so fast
Yes, indeed. You need to add Perth and Almonte in your next video.
We will!

Very nice choice of towns. Never saw that side of Cambridge before. Nice architecture.

Beautiful summary ..thank you ..

Absolutely.

hi...that was very nice...st. jacobs is nice also.
Thank you. You're right.
Great selection. I would replace Galt and Sr. Mary's with Almonte and Perth. Thank you for sharing
Agreed.
Very nice choices. There are other prettier towns in Eastern Ontario.
Very true!
All of the towns mentioned are five or more hours away from the Capital City of Ottawa. Maybe you could plan to explore eastern Ontario. We have beautiful towns and villages around here too.
We agree and we have. Visit the play list of hidden gems of Ontario. We covered those cute towns.
great video!
Thanks for the visit
When you were in Collingwood you should have went west to Thornbury/Clarksburg and further west to Meaford and further to Owen Sound and the Bruce Peninsula
Definitely do that trip next time we are in Collingwood. Thank you for the tips.
Love Bayfield
We do too
Ontario is home to 250,000 lakes. Regardless of where you live or travel, you will have a lake or river or brook near by; possibly all three.
indeed. Ontario has some great locations to visit
I’ve been to Elora once and it was amazing with water falling down from the crevice of large rock sur l must check out more of nicest towns
It's our favorite little town in Ontario. Especially in summer. They close the main street in summer and it's only for pedestrians
Love Fergus ❤️
Fergus is a lovely to wn
Great choice. I wouldn't have included Cambridge. Almonte and Perth should be there. I did see them in your "Hidden Gems" So I guess they are kinda of there :-)
Yes, we purposely left the hidden gems out of this video as we would like them to remain hidden gems.
You need to do the same for Quebec.
Next Spring.
My favorites are Bayfield and St. Mary's
Good choices
Città graziose.
Grazie
I must explo my maps and see all the beauty in Ontario towns
You should. There are so many.
That's too bad. I was in Galt on Wednesday, I understand what you mean. Still has beautiful architecture, the mill and the Grand River
Ooooh Mr. N has upset some Karens.😁😁😁😁 St. Mary's is underrated - but I agree Elora is very special.
I know, didn't mean too.
Seaforth is nice
Thank you. We will make a point of visiting.

They are all nice towns, the title should have been Ontario's prettiest south western towns.
A new video will premier end of June.
Yes… it was mostly “The Grand River” Route … I’ll bet the Rideau Canal or Trent-Severan Waterway might have something to say about Top Ten.
…or South Shore Lake Supierior 1500km in the wrong direction 😊

It's great to hear that you agree with the selection! Each town has its own unique charm.
Ya, Ontario does have pretty towns.
It truly does
Why are they all in western Ontario I can think of a few in South Eastern Ontario. You need a Part 2 here. Otherwise well done!
Definitely working on a Part 2. It will Premier end of June.
Kingston.?
You're right, it was between Kingston and Fergus and chose Fergus
Lived in St.Marys for about 6 years... truly the most disfunctional town with the worst hospital in Ontario.
Ooh. That's sad to hear. Thank you for sharing
@thewanderingtravellers61 it's not sad because it's completely untrue. I also lived there for 6 years and found it to be a wonderful town with one of the BEST hospitals
all S/W ontario
We have Western Ontario and Eastern Ontario. This summer we are going North and South West. Thank you for your suggestion.
Fergus is dead and Elora much nicer, downtown Galt is dead, and you missed one of the best, Dundas!
We missed many towns and Dundas is definitely one we have missed. Thank you for the suggestion.
What about Bobcaygeon?
Thank you for the tip. We will make a visit later this summer.

You missed so many great towns east of Toronto…Port Hope, Cobourg, Picton, Kingston, Gananoque and many more
We have special Play list for those towns. Hidden gems. Check it out.

Perth? Almonte? Cobourg? Port Perry? Port Hope? Picton? Did your car ever get east of Highway 400?
Yep. Check out our hidden gem series. All those towns are there.
What about Brockville
So you came across this video and jumped to conclusions. Maybe you check out other videos in this channel. There's a whole playlist dedicated to Eastern Ontario and one dedicated South Western Ontario.
Agree with the top 5 choices. Maybe St. Mary's and Cambridge shouldn't be on the list.

DUNDAS ONT. is another beautiful town in ONTARIO
Yes, we are adding Dundas to pretty neighborhoods as it's kinda a suburb of Hamilton instead of a town.
It's actually suburb or neighborhood.
Dundas isn't a town it is now a suburb of Hamilton.

Sad . But true.
Prettiest towns or.... waterways? Too much water not enough town.
They go hand in hand. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Therefore, we like towns that are close to water.
Guess what! There's more to Ontario than just southern Ontario. We have many beautiful towns and villages in northern and eastern Ontario. Bet you didn't even look.
