Still struggling with This. Opened up my first shop 7 years ago, and I came to a point where I just stopped looking , and decided to run it myself.. everyone feels entitled these days, and I just don’t have time or patience. But if someone reliable and hardworking walks in or calls me , then I would hire them , but I’m just not looking. It’s tough

I think the shop culture is very saturated and everyone wants to be the super super big dogs. The goals of young barbers who haven't even started is to get on a brand like lv3 before they even did there first pro haircut.

@@the_original_Versastyles that is true as well. They want everything handed to them on a golden plate , without even paying their dues.. and on top of that , a lot of them are extremely sensitive

I’m with you there my brother.
I been opened for 17 years and haven’t kept any barbers past 5 years working for me. Guys all want to be owners. Until they see how hard it really is. Right now it’s me and my father cutting.
I’m cutting an average of 70-80 heads a week and had just given up on looking.
But now I’m in my late 30’s. Married with a kid and would love to bring all my income home and have the barbers cover the cost of overhead.
So I must start looking again since now my mentality and priorities have changed.
Barbering industry is hard. But don’t give up!
