- If you are a lucky Mazda 3, CX-30, CX-50 or CX-90 owner and either need to change your wiper blades, or would like to lift them off your windshield in the snow, here is how to enter the wiper service mode allowing you to do so. Always be mindful of your auto wiper setting during the winter months with snow on your windshield as well, to prevent bending the arms when you start your vehicle.
Thank you for this. I just bought a 2023 mazda3 and it's 100% different than my 2011. First snow storm of the year since I had this car and I was like wtf how do I clean the snow ice off my wiper area. Good thing I had the auto wiper off. This saved my life
Glad we could assist!
Thanks! Worked on 2024 Mazda 3
Saving this for future reference! Thank you!
For those wanting a cheat sheet:
(1) Without your foot on the brake, hit the START button (obviously you need your key fob)
(2) Hit START again
(3) Hit START a third time which powers off the car
(4) Push/toggle the wiper control arm on the steering wheel up twice
(5) Your wipers should be in the fully up position to allow changing of the blades
Thanks you Island Owl Mazda
Thank you! I have a 2024 cx50 and couldn’t figure out how to get them up
What an awesome dude straight up gives his number if you have questions
We want to ensure you’re taken care of!
Thank you!
Works on the cx90. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
@@islandowlmazdaowlfam it was a life saver. Got 15 inches of snow over night while on vacation. Thanks again!
Please, explain that to put back to normal mode you need to start the car and push the lever up twice.
is there any Wiper fluid nozzle Modification kit, the fluid of the cx50 doesn't cover more than half the windscreen and the fluid only comes out when the wipers are in the lowest positions and on the left side of wiper blades (when sitting in the car) I park under trees and get lots of drips from trees and maybe lantern flies excrement juice which is sticky, so the wiper just smears the window since the liquid from the nozzle doesn't cover the entire window, last car I had was a ford fusion and its nozzles were on the hood and it squirted no matter what stroke the wipers were on, also I have a feeling in the winter with them salting the roads it will almost be impossible to get a clear windscreen from the fluid nozzle
Unfortunately this didn't work in my 2019 CX-5.
Talk about stupid design
