I bought this recently specifically for the formatting tools and I am extremely happy with my purchase. Easy and quick to use and it gives you professional results.
You can write in Apple pages, but then when you're ready to import into Atticus, you'll need to save as a docx and upload that file. That's what I used to do when I didn't have Word...but now I just write my books in Atticus. As for AI elements, no. A big reason for this is that we want to make sure our system is not learning from authors work, and keep it safe. However, there are many programs that can integrate wth Atticus or you can use and copy and paste in.
