      That's true. They depreciated offensive productive for defense. It was a big risk that almost did not work. But this draft they have a chance to replace Hill with two quality guys. Chiefs' offense next year will be much, much more potent.

      @@ARIZJOE Some was not part of the plan. They didn't expect guys like Moore and Toney who were moderately productive that had been integral to the SB run last year to become allergic to the ball. 49ers let him go unblocked on that third down in OT. A massive mistake that not many are really talking about. They just kinda assume Jones did Jones things and beat the blocker, but there literally wasn't one. Another guy reached a hand out, but his assignment was George after he got around Kittle. It was a massive f up by the o-line in the biggest moment. The guy that should have blocked Jones went towards the center's assignment.

I never take a single Game for granted and agree they need to mortgage the cow to pay Sneed and CJ. Get some WR talent and draft like we do. If they can do that this season will be much smoother and not down to single elimination games as early as we did this year. As a Chiefs fan I agree with what Rich is saying. Maybe don’t go all in as in using our future to get the perfect team but resign everyone you can most notably Jones and Sneed with contract restructuring and then you could use the draft to pick up extra talent for the future and maybe get a speedy receiver that’s dangerous enough to take the top off the defense so Rice and Kelce can open up more like it was with Tyreek. But even if they can’t get Jones to resign they could use the money to get a flashy receiver that’s more well known. I don’t have much worries we can really only get better from here offensively which was our biggest problem this year and at the most we lose the best defensive player we have which sounds like a big problem but others have stepped up big this year since they were on the team last year like Sneed, McDuffie, Bolton, Reid etc. so if anything we use the draft to try and replace him defensively. No matter which way it goes we can get better as a team and best believe no matter who’s in the wide receiver room next year Andy will make sure they play better than they did this year.

Chris Jones can play 3 more years at this level. There is nobody else that can fill that role. He deserves to make more than Donald right now, he's better. Your goal as GM is to win the Superbowl every year, not follow what the Patriots did. Luckily for KC there is so much they can do this off-season to create cap without losing anyone significant and many ways to manipulate the cap space.
    They currently have $22m in cap space. I think it's a forgone conclusion they cut MVS to save $12m. Hopefully they can trade Toney for scraps which saves $2.5m. Justin Reid is on his last year of his contract. They can choose to extend him and give him a signing bonus for this season to free up cap or they could trade him to save $14m and let their 4th round pick last year in Conner take his spot, or they can cut him to save about $11m. Cutting a Justin Watson also saves $2m

    The Chiefs next Season, will be Andy Reid's Magnum Opus. They'll more than likely get a WR, they have a great Defense, that is still very youthful. They might have went through arguably the toughest gauntlet of opponents to get and win the Superbowl. Next Season, the Chiefs will join Teams like the 85 Bears, 84 9ers, 91 Redskins in contention for the Greatest Team of All Time.

    A lot of good points made in this comment section. Remember, the Chiefs have been killing it in the draft as of late, getting guys like McDuffie, Rice, Pacheco, Sneed, Bolton, and others. As well, they've at times made strategic trades of talented young stars to gain draft capital to keep killing it in the draft. Although I won't be around to see Pat's last Super Bowl, I was around to see the first Chiefs SB loss and win. 3 peat would be nice, but KC wants 10 of 'em! Patriots dynasty got a lot of help from team-friendly contracts with Brady. Brady knew what he was doing, and wanted enough money to be wisely spent to keep putting a team capable of Super Bowls around him. Unlike the NBA & MLB, the NFL has an absolute, no getting around it hard salary cap. It is easy to say "pay them all" but that can become fiscally impossible. KC suffered heavily losing Tyreek Hill, but they didn't have the cap space to keep everyone. Hard choices and smart draft choices are often the only way to stay under a hard salary cap.

    • @GameTime-yj6qv
      @GameTime-yj6qv 9 месяцев назад +1

      Losing Tyreek though saved them a lot of money to use elsewhere and draft picks to build their defense. So Chiefs need to continue to be smart about who to resign, who to trade, and who to let go.

    They shouldn't mortgage it all for a 3 peat. Honestly. I'd tag and trade either Chris Jones(About to turn 30), or L'Jarious Snead(27 year old corner about to get paid top of the league salary at corner). Let the other one walk. You get draft capital from one you trade, and the one you let walk(Free agency competitive pick 3rd round). You trust your scouting department that's already done amazing in their recent past of scouting players. Remember that Nick Bolton, Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith, Trent McDuffie, and George Karlaftis to get resigned in the next 2 years. Don't kill your future cap on it. Keep the Super Bowl window open for 5-7 more years, rather than making the window wide open for only 2 more years tops. It's cap negligence to pay both Snead, and Chris Jones. You pay Butker, and Drue Tranquil. You let Willie Gay walk, you let one of Snead and Chris Jones walk, and you tag and trade the other.
