- A lot of you have been asking us about adding your own models to "Procedural Crowds." Well, in this tutorial, we're going to walk you through the process, making it super easy and efficient. By following our instructions, you'll be able to create your own model packs and have them readily accessible within the "Procedural Crowds" interface.
We would love to see what you can do with "procedural Crowds" by adding your own models! 😊 Please tag us or mention us in your creations, whether on Instagram or Twitter @DifffuseStudio. 🎥 We are excited to see what you achieve!
this news was big for me, I was thinking of replacing some models but now its built in, this add on keeps getting amazing.
My bread and butter right now for my personal projects are giant sci-fi cities and I have been DREADING the prospect of doing crowds, as even going about it in the Ian Hubert method was going to take ages. But now, really, all I have to do is make a few generic outfits and can have crowds taken care of in a single night. This is incredible work, and I am so impressed with the functionality.
I am freaking so happy you brought this functionality in so quickly! For ages I was trying to set up crowds, man, you guys saved me.... I have a zombie series (Njaa (in my channel))
and in part 1 there's a shot very similar to your ending, I love it! I appreciate it more than you can imagine, I love the add on, it's crowd poetry. I wish you the best success!
Awesome 👍👌 loving playing around with this addon. Look forward to trying this out and adding my own models 👍👍
We would love to see the creations of our users! Please feel free to mention us on social media when you share your renders.
@@difffusestudio will do 👍 I’ve put a couple on Instagram a few days ago (tagged you in already) keep up the good work ☺️
@@difffusestudio Best addon ever !
Oh my gosh, this is amazing! I was going to buy this a few weeks ago but didn't see anything on the blendermarket page about being able to use our own models so I didn't get it since what I need crowds for don't match what I saw as your prebuilt ones, but now that I know I can bring my own models into this, I'm going to be picking this up immediately. Thanks!
Great. But I so wish this was much simpler to do than it currently is. I hope that the Developer simplifies this process as it would really benefit all users!
its a mess yeah, but its ok
its still the best crowd addon !
Good Tutorial! Huggins from colombia!
THANKS ALOT FOR THE TUTORIAL MAN!!!
The ending was scary! hahahah THANKS ALOT AGAIN
Hi, will the animation always be assigned to one mesh ? Or the addon mix the armature and the meshes ?
Awesome !!! thanks !!!!
This is great! I created an army of marching robots that I can add to any scene. Something that would be helpful is a refresh button. Seems I need to restart Blender to get new folders to show up and if I modify a character model I won't see the change unless I delete everything and re-add a crowd system. Also, I'm not able to replace a crowd once one has been added to a curve. In addition, when drawing a curve on a surface and adding a crowd to that curve, there ends up being a gap between the surface the curve was drawn on and the character's feet, requiring me to lower the cover along the Z or raise the ground to get the feet to touch the ground.
@Difffusestudio hello - this is great. Unfortunately it seems to bunch model types together with not much randomisation. This results in my crowd seemingly being divided into zombie type 1 all stood together, zombie type 2 altogether, zombie type 3 altogether. Have I done something wrong, is there a fix for this?
Hi - So in theory - we can add just the animations to the "individuals" > "animation" folder, as long as they are the same rig as mixamo, they'd be able to be applied to the already existing characters? Or am I understanding it wrong? If this is not the case, would it be possible to make a video about this option as well? It would be greatly appreciated
Awesome👍👏
That’s a lot of work is the a crowd simulator drag and drop your custom characters?
Amazing!
Is it possible to add custom animations? I note the 5 types in the Custom folder, but if I needed to create some kind of combat animations and use those, is this something I can set up for myself. I am about to buy this anyway, but I am keen to do more than ide, run and walk and so on. That aside, this is outstanding.
once the crowds all set up & saved as fbx, can it be a useful crowd scene for unreal engine?
Awesome
Take my money!
cool addon. Help me with exporting the animation to unreal engine in minimum size. Actually I tried exporting this as alembic. it works but the file size is too heavy. Could u help me with this?
absolutely insane...
The files in the Custom Models archive are missing, being replaced by two folders with two files,. called Animation_type_name.
Thanks for reaching out! In the latest release, Procedural Crowds 2.0, we've made some changes to how custom models are imported. This is to provide more flexibility in usage. We've got a video that walks you through the new process step by step. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/Px4ckI4I0hY/видео.html. Hope this helps!
Minute 02:06 How to orient the characters toward Y+ ? I never use Blender before, and I wish your explanation is more detail. How can I rotate the armature on the Z-axis? Thanks.
You can rotate by pressing R on your keyboard
Maybe Im an Idiot, but I cant find the menu where you can change the animations (1:53). For me that dropdown menu just doesnt exist. I dont really use Blender all that much, so I'd apprechiate the help :)
If you write to us throught Blendermarket we can help you better attaching some images, so please talk to us throught there :)
where can i find "in place"? when i tried to download the image with animation from Mixamo, there is no such thing " In place"
Not all animations have this option, only those that move, such as running or walking, if you do not see this option do not worry, in that case it is not necessary, you can download the animation without problem
How to remove the material from the standard crowd?
Hello! When you import a crowd, a hidden collection is created in the outliner with the imported models. You can show it and then delete the materials from each model! :)
Should i save as the file when I make changes in custom modules or just override on it and then copy it to the crowd models? I'm trying to do it but it seems to get a bug..please help
You can override the files from Custom Models folder, and the put that folder into the Assets one, if you need more help please contact to us throught BlenderMarket.
