      Eddie said, “I didn’t really think it would be that big of a deal and wouldn’t really go anywhere, or for that matter make any real money” lol Slash definitely learned from Eddie’s mistake and got credit for everything he did with MJ! Slash could live off just those residuals. lol

    Yes Pete was one of Eddie's favorite player! I happened to watch an interview of Eddie from The 80s where he said he went to see The Who in 76 and got back stage with some buddy's (I the Michael Anthony was one) and got to meet The Man Pete! He said all the things i was told about him about being moody, rude, hot tempered and un approciable was BS.. said he was the nicest most helpful guitar hero he had. A truly wonderful meeting that stayed with Ed. Now Blackmore and a few others he said nothing nice about..

    ALWAYS great and informative videos brother, thanks you! Being born and raised in LA County, got to see VH 5 times with Roth and 3 with Sam. Lol Edward live with that brown sound was beyond epic! With KLOS & KMET, all the interviews etc way too much to list, it was a great time to be alive... Edward `always put magic in the air, and they're music created a phenomenal vibe in our lives. Too bad the generation now a days won't or can't experience what we did. Peace

    Wow. Pete recommended Eddie! Very cool. I met Pete through EC & companies road mgr. , Mick Double, who became a friend. Anyway, the rest of the band left the venue, but Pete came backstage. He's a big dude. Im 6'2" and he looked down to shake my hand. We talked about his custom Clapton guitars, which had a whammy bar. I had called the custom shop about buying one. He ordered 20 at a time .lol. All green. Anyway, he was very friendly to me. Ive heard the nightmare stories, but all i can say is he was warm and very interested in how i knew about the guitars, why 20, etc. He responded he played them to bits on tour. Lmao. He had stopped smashing them by this tour. Quadrophenia revisited.

    Pete Townshend ngl has solos that are pretty tricky, like all the live solos and the hard licks he knows on some songs.

    • @tonym994
      @tonym994 11 месяцев назад

      getting Eddie at that time wasn't like paying for a cab across NYC. he'd almost get a blank check. I'm glad his changes were approved ,because stuff like that has ruined friend ships in music. but if it magically invigorates the tune? friends for life. that's creativity.

      I always though a little bit of Jimi's 'all along the watchtower' was in the solo near the end. they are very similar. it's high on the neck, but EVH wasn't really deep into Hendrix, overall.

      @@jcruisioso5975 No. He sang the lick (I'm not talking about the solo, which was EVH). Given that Luke played all the guitar parts (bar the solo) plus bass on the cut, I reckon his is the definitive word on the topic.

    Contrary to lies from some unnamed dink , Ed wasn't all about money . Kramer Guitars never paid Ed any money for his endorsements of Kramer guitars . At the rime he started endorsing Kramers , the company had a very small profit margin on their guitars that had Floyd Rose tremolos . Ed loved the tremolos and Kramer's putting them in their guitars . He knew if he was paid endorsing the company would have to raise their prices .

      @@JKinLVN Thanks for the reply. As I recall, EVH also claimed to be the first person to wax-pot an electric guitar pickup (or to have come up with the idea on his own). While EVH was clearly a technical guitar powerhouse (in his niche), he certainly had an exaggerated opinion of himself. I'm sure EVH made that statement long after Rhodes was dead and couldn't either refute or verify it.
