Apple Watch, iPhone, rubber wedding band, Boker AK74 auto opener knife, Leatherman Micra, Olight mini, reading glasses in a slim case, Trayvax wallet, USA made bandana in back pocket, Glock 43, Alien Gear IWB, extra mag in same pocket as bandana. Always closed shoes when out and about even in Florida, no flip flops for me outside of the house. Can't tell I'm carrying anything even in shorts. Thanks for your channel!
I remember my dad trying to board a plane with his knife in his pocket and his surprised face when he got told it wasnt possible haha ! So many different EDCs !
For a knife, I’d recommend either the Victorinox 1 Alox, or Cadet Alox. These cost about $25 USD. If you want something traditional, yet nice, go for a Great Eastern Cutlery Boy’s Knife, or a Boker Barlow Knife. Those will cost somewhere between $150-200 USD.
Best knife in the world, seriously, Chris Reeve Small Sebenza drop point carbon fiber edition exclusive from knifeart. Compact, lightweight and extreme quality. Not cheap tho. Add leather pouch. Love it!
As a women, I carry a benchmade, graffiti mop (k-66 bottle with my own recipe of ink that I've made since the 90s), power scribe/blade sharpener, car fob, cell and thermos full of coffee (black, no sugar)
EDC is why I'm getting back in to denim. I stopped wearing jeans because I couldn't carry everything I wanted to. Recently I discovered a company Tale of Knives, they make leather belt holder thingys. I found I needed more than a knife so I carry a multi-tool. I realized my most used item was actually a flashlight. I use a small front pocket wallet so I can't fit my keys in my pocket as well. I can carry the multi-tool, flashlight and keys all in one pouch. Now I can start wearing jeans again!
Bit late but, for the coins, a small leather coin purse. Probably also in natural vegtan to match the wallet. That way the coins don't make noise in your pocket and they don't scratch anything else in there.
Adding a little first aid kit to both bag loadouts is worth considering. Simple booboo basics like bandaids and neosporin, and emergency trauma tools like a tourniquet, gloves, and hemostatic agent. All can be carried in something just larger than a billfold, and might save someones life.
Enjoyed the video very much. My EDC includes iPhone, earphones (still can’t get to buy EarPods), Victorinox knife in camo that I got as a present years ago, nice Parker pen and pencil (really, I always have both with me), a no-name notebook, a book (usually for work) and a metal bottle for water from IKEA. It took a very long time to choose a bag, but this year I’ve bought me a super nice Timberland leather rucksack that I hope I will inherit to my grandchildren😅
As you rightly say, you always learn something. What always strikes me is that is never the snazzy gadget that makes you think. Rather it is the obvious and simple. What I took from this was the idea of the foldable Totes bag. A brilliant idea. Why did I not think of that? What I might recommend for your occasional use is the splendid 'Cag in a Bag.' This is a foldable showerproof jacket that you can attach to your belt. Saving that, a mini umbrella. You can tell that I come from the UK!
Knifes: Spiderco UK penknife (light and doesn’t lock so its legal most places) or for the best EDC a small sabenza from Chris Reeves knifes. Greetings from Texas.
Love the pen. The heft of it looks just right. Now you've got me thinking I need to upgrade from my brass Space Pen (which I tend to lose and find weekly). As for the knife, I'm currently carrying my Benchmade Custom Bugout. It's a beauty, top notch craftsmanship from Benchmade....but it's just a knife. I'm currently looking for something more utilitarian and I keep coming back to the Boker Plus Tech Tool line (the City 6 to be specific).
If I were to look for a new knife, and to stick to a model with at least the same functionality as the old one, I would go for a compact Victorinox. The blade is more than enough, the bottle opener, can opener, flathead screwdriver (and Phillips screwdriver) is pretty good, the corkscrew is... well, here. And you have a pair of scissors and a pen in addition.
I recommend the Fjallraven backpacks; not the Känken but the more serious ones like the Räven 20L. Built with more traditional techniques and materials they are very well designed without being flashy. Similarly to canvas, they can be waxed to weatherproof them.
I’m surprised you don’t have a natural veg tan case for your iPhone. The patina on a phone case I can imagine would be crazy given how much we handle our phones on the daily.
Check out the Kizer Zipslip in full titanium. Slip joint with modern materials, one handed opening hole (very useful) and deep carry pocket clip. The design itself is beautiful too
Awesome video bro. I know I was nervous the first time I had to have a pair of jeans Hemmed and same goes for tapering. Like, you just spent quit a bit of money on jeans and we want to treat them like our kids and don’t want anyone to F**k the up so we research and teaser him for the perfect person. Although it may seem like a big step to take it is as easy as the video shows, makes it easier if you have a denim shop that is close by with access to a chain stitching machine.
It's fun to watch but, I agree, you can get carried away. I just have a handkerchief, small Victorinox classic SD Swiss army knife, and a keychain flashlight on me at all times usually (in addition to my phone and wallet) . When I'm on my motorcycle I augment the setup with a Gerber multitool, zippo (for those on the road cigars) and a small pen in addition to my motorcycle tools. I don't see the utility in having a proper knife on me? In fact, it would probably cause more problems than it would solve. It's easy to go mad with all the cool doodads but the point of ECC is asking yourself, "what would make my day to day easier?" Prepping is a whole 'nother can of (usually right-wing) worms.
Excellent video mate. Pretty well constructed EDC too. I have a steinhart myself and although it's a homage, it's lasted me a very long time and it stil keeps perfect time. Only thing I don't get is, why would you swap a wallet that has developed such a beautiful patina for a new one? Grreetings from the UK (where we can't even be trusted with broken beer bottles 🤣)
Hey Chris. Yeah the steinhart is a good watch. And it’s taking a beating and kept going for a long long time. I can’t really complain at all. Needs a service tho. The power reserve is way down. As the the wallet the old one was so worn in that it had too much flex, on the corners in particular and my cards were breaking. Not a problem before but now with the tap to pay antenna being integrated around the edge of the cards it’s kinda essential to keep that intact. So needed a wallet with a bit less flex.
I would carry 95% of your EDC, good choices! I am a little iffy on the backpack, not it’s quality, it looks great, but when you get to a certain age a backpack might be the wrong image? Look at Filson briefcases, same waxed cotton and leather straps that will develop a patina. Looks like you cycle, so maybe a backpack is a necessity? I’d get a vélo orange stainless rack and strap the Filson down. Check out the Filson though, have had mine for 5 years and it looks like new. My knife suggestion is Swiss Army, when I was in Switzerland you can get them with white scales and they’ll engrave your name on the side. Maybe not the most unique, but the features are darn practical, and it’s smooth in the pocket! Cheers!
I think the Filson briefcases looks amazing, you’re totally right. Thing is, my back and my shoulders are totally messed up. Can’t carry anything with a shoulder strap for more than 10 mins. And I think that with age, having something with good weight distribution is super important. I guess it depends on lifestyle and personal style. I’d never wear a backpack with a suit for example. But then, I also thing the filson would be too casual. As for the knife, you’re totally right. I had one of those ‘doh’ moments as so many folks have reminded me that Swiss Army knives exist. So that’ll probably be my choice.
I like seeing your EDC. I find myself with a very similar EDC. However, I usually don't carry a pen. I am an incessant pen theif so there are pens everywhere. The knife I would recommend is Kershaw Leek. About $50 in the US. Also I would check out Pigeon Tree Crafting for wallets and belts.
Noting wrong with a Steinhart. Goid movement and the hands make it look less a wannabe than others. For my watch EDC it's either a Casio ga5600/ 2100, Casio Oceanus , or my my citizen ray mears. For dress up it's my Sarb ( uh, I can't stop when I talk watches..). TLDR: Steinhart watches= good; I like watches ( even quartz ones that take can take a knock).
Had a denim question, did you ever come across a pair that wouldn’t break in the way you wanted? Like after a 6 to a year of wear and it still won’t break in? If you have what did you do?
My Tier 1 EDC is my on body EDC which will help me get to my Tier 2. My Tier 2 EDC is my everyday bag which is also a get home bag. My Tier 2 EDC can either get me to my Tier 3 EDC in my vehicle which is a bug out bag or get me home.
@@CeeAreDee A Get Home Bag (GHB) is an emergency bag meant to sustain you when away from and going towards home. It’s like a 24-Hour Bug Out Bag (BOB). But, unlike a BOB, a GHB is more portable and should sustain you for a short duration, like finding your way home in an SHTF event. A BOB is more of a longer term solution when you need to immediately move away from your home, preferably towards a bug out location (BOL). The supplies and gear in a BOB should last you around 72hrs, enough to get you to your BOL.
Very enjoyable video. I always find it interesting to see other people’s EDC. I really struggle with the bag question and have resisted one so far, but I hate pocket bulge. Where I live in the US we have restrictive knife laws in my state, and I commute to a state that is even worse. I just carry a small Gerber Dime multi tool that looks very non-threatening.
@@CeeAreDee yes Im hopelessly addicted to nicotine. I started vaping to quit smoking, but it just made nicotine more accessible, more often. both are good for different situations, for example: indoors vs outdoors, wanting a quick hit vs taking a break
Finally! A real perspective on EDC!! Awesome video! Thank you!! Just subbed.
Can't go wrong with a simple Victorinox for an EDC utility tool and knife.
Better still, they will be legal carry in the UK (Criminal Justice Act 1988 s. 139)

Great video brotha my EDC knife is the Benchmade Bugout 535BK-4 🔥🔥🔥which is very clicky and great to open and close then my backup is the 535BK-2

The cool thing about your knife is that they are made on very old equipment.
Yeah. I mean it’s a super good blade. Just the rest makes it a little impractical.

There are small Otter Mercators in C75 which are slipjoint with a 7cm blade. However my equivalent which I often EDC is the Bokerplus Atlas.
A classic pocket pen says that you are a refined, educated person.
Pretty much same setup as mine, same items. The shopping bag is essentiel. Go with a swiss knife for edc.

Ah. I’ve never liked the slip cases for phones. Too much hassle. But you’re totally right. It would be a great patina.
