Very helpful. Thank you. Also, thank you for not using more time and more words than you needed. Some of these fixit videos spend twice as long as they need telling you how great they are. Instead, you just showed us.
Awesome video, thanks you so much for helping out.👍 For those who will be doing this I say that when removing the door handle with the window switches be VERY careful or the plastic WILL crack. You most lift it up like he did.
V ery informative video. Thank you very much!!! Very well organized. VeERYSORRY you broke some parts figuring out how to properly remove the door panel.
Just finished swapping out the black inside door handles of my Escape S for the silver ones that come on the higher trim levels. Yes you were correct, I did have to take the whole panel off to get the handle unit out because of the tabs behind it. Was a bit tricky at first disconnecting the cable from the handle until I figured out how to do it and then the second one was easy. My biggest concern was breaking a clip or tab. But all went well. I appreciate you making this video as it showed me how to remove the panel.
This video is going to help out a lot tomorrow. My panel pops loose if you close the door too hard. I'll be able to see if my bottom screw eyelet is broken.
Great video! I have a base model Escape (S) and I'm swapping out the black pull handle and black door handle for the aluminum look ones of the next higher trim level (SE). This video shows me what I'll be dealing with. Thanks.
I have a 2018 Escape S and it has the black door handles. I'm changing them to the silver ones from the higher trim levels like in your video 0:45 I'm hoping I can pull that whole door handle/switch part without removing the whole door panel. I'm also changing the black to silver handles 1:30 that part looks easy enough to change without removing the door panel.
@@FixAlex Thanks. I'll get a better idea when I get the actual parts in a week or so to see the tabs. I would think if I can pop out those handles, there should be enough cable slack for me to reach behind and disconnect the cable. If not I'll just follow your video and remove the whole panel. The door panels on the 2018 look just the same as the 2013-2017, but for some reason the front handles have a different part number than the 2017 and earlier. Don't know if maybe the tabs are different or maybe the way it holds the cable? It cost me about $140 for the front and rear inner door handles and the 2 silver pull handles that go in the armrest. OEM Trim parts are always crazy expensive.
Thanks for the video, just be careful when removing part by door handle it's a little tricky(I cracked mine). Also all screws are not the same on mine(thread).
Thanks! Yes, I just found that- I have to remove mine as the bottom of the door is rusting on the inside. But I'm worried that the rust extends to the door covered by the molding. Thanks again.
One more question. How many bolts do I need to remove for the back door trim panel? It is different from the front panel. I spotted one on the bottom. One on the upper corner. Are there two more behind the handle bar like the front?
Thanks Boro for the excellent demo video. I am an amateur, this video gave me the courage to try and remove the door panel So I can put on Sound dampening tape to quiet road noise. However, I am unsure about the driver side front door because it has the power window controls and mirror control. Can you tell me how to pop open and unhook the electrical wire connectors? I am afraid to open it and mess it up. Thanks for your help.
You made it look so easy. But, I could do all except prying open the longer piece door handle panel. I even bought a set of tools to try and pry it open. I did not want to mess up my new Escape. So I decided to wait a while before I try again. I was going to stick mouse dampening tapes inside the door panel. I could use some tips from anyone. Thanks
Your video helped me fix the wife’s broken window switch of passenger side. 2 minute job because of you. Thanks.
Great video! Very helpful and easy to follow along. Thank you so much!

Can you lower the window first before proceeding with the removal of door panel? This will make reaching the wiring cable clips easier.
This video is going to help out a lot tomorrow. My panel pops loose if you close the door too hard. I'll be able to see if my bottom screw eyelet is broken.
On my 3rd try, I was able to remove the door handle panel that hides the two screws. Thanks Boro.
You explained it great man. Thanks for showing where to start with the red light cover and the door handle
Great video! I have a base model Escape (S) and I'm swapping out the black pull handle and black door handle for the aluminum look ones of the next higher trim level (SE). This video shows me what I'll be dealing with. Thanks.
I had to replace interior door handle, this made it very easy. Thanks!
Good description, used that to remove and replace mirror, just one more piece and 3 torx screws

I think, you still need to remove panel, so you can remove that cable attached to lever 3:00, any way try it first, good luck

Thank you Boro for the quick reply. You are the best. I do appreciate your video. I think I will try it once I have the sound dampening material.
Thanks for the video, just be careful when removing part by door handle it's a little tricky(I cracked mine). Also all screws are not the same on mine(thread).

Thank you Alex, the door behind driver is not closing, something wrong with the lock, I need to remover door panel to see what is going on.
Thanks for the video, anyone knows where I can get the exterior panel door ?
does door panel have to come off for replacing outside mirror on 2014 escape ?
Thank you for this video but does the side airbag have to be disabled before removing the door cover?
no. Why?
Is there a good place to get new clips and buy the screws? Somehow the screw fell off and the clips broke inside the panel

I want to replace the ENTIRE DOOR, are these the right instructions?
Thanks a lot buddy really good video !!
What do you call the black trim on bottom of the door, but on the outside? I need to pul that off.
Trim panels or molding probably.
