5:14 I long for the day when I can come down to breakfast in dressing gown and cap. My father says that I'm not allowed one until I am 70 and I think that I agree.
I wore their shirts and socks in the 80s. At the time they also had a shop on Fenchurch St. They weren't quite Turnbull & Asser, but were better than Hilditch & Key. My favourite shirt was always Harvie & Hudson's 'shop cut' where you could choose the fabric and they would make it to standard measurements.
I have only ever bought accessories from there; a couple of ties and pocket squares and many, many socks. I need to get down to the shop in person to try some of there other offerings
As a working class ex NCO I love to dress well. I shoot live game and take my lead from this social format. I have learnt to respect and utilise some of these items. The influence of the Mess and the status given to a Staff Sergeant guided my future clothing needs and beyond, the army. We all grow and have our own style, be strong of character and always strive for quality.😊
Another excellent video in the series Tom. I remember the New & Lingwood dressing gown on your Ritual of Shaving video. Btw, what was the Santa Maria Novella scent that I could see amongst your colognes in that video? Sad to say that the only things I have from N&L, is 2 pairs of burgundy socks, one pair with foxes on.
We judge these gentlemen by their extraordinary contribution to our society, not by the flaws we all have and every single one of us has. You are in some ways like him, regarding the flaws. You just have no record of bravery or extraordinary character.
Wondering why in this very British series your intro music is Italian (Vivaldi) and in this episode music by a Frenchman (Bizet) relating the adventures of the very Spanish Carmen?
This has been a wonderful series to follow, thank you. I think I was born on the wrong side of the Atlantic, as where I live people dress far too casually.
I wish I were wealthy enough to afford one of their silk dressing gowns... Although, there would be a problem: if I had one, I would probably never want to change into anything else EVER 😇
I’m really enjoying this series, keep them coming 👍🏼
Respect you guys! Listening to this channel, your brilliant British speech, aesthetics and style, gives me real pleasure. Music to my ears.
Love the series, new and lingwood are a national treasure

I’ve been buying N&L socks for years. They are absolutely the best!
Absolutely brilliant video. Really great work Tom 👌🏾
At 6:00. Hugh Hefner would have loved that selection of dressing gowns.
These videos are always a joy to watch.

Lovely video, Tom. I love N&L, especially their beautifully iconic dressing gowns.
I used to shop at their branch at Eton, on the High Street.
Great series! I´m still waiting for Turnbull & Asser :)
Loving these explorations of exquisite retailers of men's wear ,yet another one to direct one of my bosses to.
kent and haste has done a great job on that jacket
I recognised it as a Terry Haste masterpiece too.

You are the best- thanks, Tom!
Very nice series
I found it incredible how drastically your jacket changed colors with lighting.
Good observation 😀
2:07 Nice portrait, I need a copy. Love those smoking jackets too...

Soo classy & elegant🎉❤
Thank you for this, very informative. Any visits to Ede & Ravenscroft due soon?
Great video but that jacket? OMG!! DB, patch pockets, belted back - that coat is my spirit animal. Glad to see others wearing new “vintage.”
Nice series, nice suit.

I am always tickled that a man who ran away from his debts, including to his tailor, is immortalised in bronze.

Another good one!
Tom I need some new quarter zips for work. What brands would you recommend?

Wow, impresionant ,very nice & all cloths so elegant
I love it. I think it's the English Ralph Lauren. You can find it all at both places.
Do they still sell detachable collars for formal wear?
did anyone else see the change in colour of the jacket when he stepped out????
Another of your jackets reminiscent of a Laurence Fellows illo...Bravo!
Wonderful dressing gowns indeed
Carmen Habenera! Love it 😅
Remarkably you used to be able to get their shirts for £20 in TK Maxx in Hammersmith

I need me one or two of those dressing gowns 😁
It’s not dressing up, it’s dressing well!
A very worthwhile visit to N&L, Tom, but did you specify your dressing gown to be double breasted? 😊
You guys really had some noise issues / challenges on this one
This makes sense
I wish I were wealthy enough to afford one of their silk dressing gowns... Although, there would be a problem: if I had one, I would probably never want to change into anything else EVER 😇
Imagine getting jam and crumbs from your crumpets on one of those dressing gowns (sigh.) Best not to be worn down to breakfast.
take out a new mortgage to get your dressing gown !
Quilty content
not as many bloopers, tom's getting too good
I like the bloopers, especially when he blows a raspberry
@@bl00dhoney same same
Fucking doorframes.
Lobb, Cordings, Turnbull & Asser…

Your bottom right button is undone any reason
