I'll always remember writing him a letter asking where I could purchase waterproof9 when it first came out in 2001 - he just mailed me the CD, and this has always stuck with me.
Since I couldn't find em elsewhere, here are the names of the musicians Patrick Watson - Vocals Simon Angell - Acoustic Guitar Mishka Stein - Electric Guitar Mélanie Bélair - Violin Robbie Kuster - Percussion
I much prefer when those names are included on the notes and even more when the people with mics introduce everyone performing - it isn’t that hard to do and there is no reason why that isn’t protocol.
I saw him last week and there was a girl crying. Your not alone! One of the most amazing concerts and displays of musicianship I've ever seen... him and his band.
Great concert in Toronto last night (Meridian Ctr). His voice soars, melodic, expressive. So natural and relaxed, having fun and loving his own shared experience. Full Philharmonic orchestra and choir (his dream realized). Wonderful instrumentation and interesting lyrics. And...that laugh...joyous!!🎶🇨🇦
The workers who do this are so lucky to hear so many different bands and musicians right in front of them Like I’ll never get to listen to even half of what they have
Patrick is soooo talented! To me, he is a classic. I have been a faithful fan since the beginning. Everything he produces is a m a z i n g, with complexities through vocals and instruments. I appreciate his music. He is musically genius.
doesnt he have one of the most beautiful, soft and controlled voices in contemporary indie / folk?? can't believe no one else is commenting on that. i love his voice!
Went to his concert in Philly in 2023 and he was nuts. The music was beautiful. He makes everything up as he goes and conducts the entire band. It was beautiful
I love him - he sings like an angel! I love all the voices at 2:46. I love his smile and laugh at 9:17. I love how he is still wearing 3 concert bracelets.
i love the innovative instruments in all of these. saw with a violin bow instead of a lap guitar, spare change instead of a shaker, in another video a guy smacking a suitcase instead of a bass drum
Wow... just, Wow! This seems to me to be the most impressive display of musicality, in which even these creative beautiful sounds from unusually played instruments is still overshadowed by the simple beauty of a voice (or two; the back-ups are no slouches, either).
He seems like an odd fellow. I might or might not want to have a conversation with him. Probably not, because I'd rather listen to his music. This is not a criticism. His music is so beautiful that I would choose it over all but the most impressive of conversation. And he surrounds himself with extremely [multi] talented backing musicians. What a confluence of talent and apparent onstage respect. What a beautifully layered unique product their gripping music is.
Such a talent. Proudly Canadien. A great hockey player. A better musician. What an absolute treat to our ears and lives. This is M.Night.Shyamalam in musical form!!!
Graham Werner I love how he moves to the music - like he is channeling his energy not only through his voice. He is beautiful to listen to and to watch.
I love this. So original. I have enjoyed the sound of these 3 songs and their differences but the way they do them they hv a cohesiveness. Beautiful. What a talented band too.
his voice is unique. and if you look into more of his music before judging, you may think twice before posting hate. i thoroughly enjoyed this and will continue to support him from now on.
Este video me recuerda muchas cosas y cada cierto tiempo lo vengo a ver para recordar lo bonito que e pasado y es triste saber q a veces algunas cosas importantes cambian 😢😢😢
These are actually fairly similar to the album versions compared to how much he changes other songs in live performances. But still, fantastic. :) One of my favourite artists for sure.
I'll always remember writing him a letter asking where I could purchase waterproof9 when it first came out in 2001 - he just mailed me the CD, and this has always stuck with me.
He's something else. What a great story.
that's so cool
That's so wholesome
that would be something I would also never forget
Thanks for sharing
The most underrated singer of all time
Let him be our little secret
Am telling you...
Agree
Yes, it’s so scary
I can't believe I just discovered Patrick Watson this year in 2023 😲😳. This man is talented, never heard an artist like him.
me too and thanks to my daughter, I'm 54 and my baby 10, she's teaching me music unbelievable!!🙄
Since I couldn't find em elsewhere, here are the names of the musicians
Patrick Watson - Vocals
Simon Angell - Acoustic Guitar
Mishka Stein - Electric Guitar
Mélanie Bélair - Violin
Robbie Kuster - Percussion
I much prefer when those names are included on the notes and even more when the people with mics introduce everyone performing - it isn’t that hard to do and there is no reason why that isn’t protocol.
Saw him live tonight in Toronto and life felt normal for a few hours. His music is like a hug. Intimate and majestic. What a treasure of a human.
La vie m'a semblé normal quelques heures \• Trésor humain
I seem to cry a lot when I watch Patrick Watson's performances on RUclips...and I'm a GROWN ASS MAN!
Cartiear Madlock ass men are deserving of a good cry every so often no matter how grown! ;D
I saw him last week and there was a girl crying. Your not alone!
One of the most amazing concerts and displays of musicianship I've ever seen... him and his band.
Just like cloudy with a chance of meatballs it's anoth to make a grown man cry
It’s got nothing to do with being a man lol. You cry when you cry, it’s human.
i love you for this

The world isn't quite as awful when I listen to this
Aarti Vasudevan sike
I love watching musicians who clearly FEEL the music. On another plane.
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve come back & rewatched this over the years. So incredible, so gutting ..
One microphone for all this magic?? This is a TRUE Tiny Concert
When they played in SXSW they had the audience go silent, because they were doing almost everything acoustic on one mic. It was really good.
I want to go to a campfire party with Patrick Watson omg
The workers who do this are so lucky to hear so many different bands and musicians right in front of them
Like I’ll never get to listen to even half of what they have

I saw him in concert last year just a few days before the first lockdown, it was a magical experience!
@@joybesseling7486 you are such a lucky person
@@joybesseling7486 Where did you see him? I saw him in San Francisco in early 2020.
doesnt he have one of the most beautiful, soft and controlled voices in contemporary indie / folk?? can't believe no one else is commenting on that. i love his voice!
I've seen Emmy award winners play music but never an Emmy award player
Went to his concert in Philly in 2023 and he was nuts. The music was beautiful. He makes everything up as he goes and conducts the entire band. It was beautiful
I really am always amazed at the beautiful and haunting sound that you can get out of something as strange and as mundane as a saw.
Does someone else keep coming here to feel alive?
here 9 years later. still beautiful
This is hauntingly good music...the voice of the girl and the guy in harmony with that crazy effect sounds so beautiful to me.
Thats Got to be the most creative session on tiny desk concert
i saw the band live twice in Minneapolis. Never heard such a great band live!
God, he always has the best musicians. All the different colors that they pull out in a live performance...it's incredible.
Wow, this is incredible...The saw is just mesmerizing.
It came from the 80's Québec comic group Les Foubrac... ruclips.net/video/YoGMVdjU9B4/видео.html
El mejor concierto que hemos ido en muchos años. Gracias !🤠 , desde Osorno🇨🇱🌎
Best thing I did was to book a flight to NY just to go see him live. Looking forward to it again.
This is one of the most amazing displays of talent and musical genius I’ve ever seen. Just....wow!
'Into Giants' is a superb song and this version gives me goosebumps.
I love him - he sings like an angel! I love all the voices at 2:46. I love his smile and laugh at 9:17. I love how he is still wearing 3 concert bracelets.
Best thing to come out of Canada by far..

I love that sheet of metal instrument played with a violin bow! So awesome!

Such a great artists, it's an amazing feeling just listen to them, Patrick has the most beautiful voice ever.
Hey friend its me Patrick Watson you're welcome to my world 🌎 of friendship.I really appreciate you for supporting my music 💋💋.
I agree with you. It's one of the most unusual and original live performances I've seen, who sounds quite like this? Brilliant!
i love the innovative instruments in all of these. saw with a violin bow instead of a lap guitar, spare change instead of a shaker, in another video a guy smacking a suitcase instead of a bass drum
Patrick Watson is just simply amazing.
enough said.
his eyebrows are magnificent.
This is actually prefect. What a musical genius.
I love this man and his band so so so so so much!
what a great album loved it when it came out still one of the best bands out there!! real music craftsmanship right there..
My life is only as good as it will be enjoyed.
Wow... just, Wow! This seems to me to be the most impressive display of musicality, in which even these creative beautiful sounds from unusually played instruments is still overshadowed by the simple beauty of a voice (or two; the back-ups are no slouches, either).
I think I’m in love.

True artists are often ‘weird’ by society’s standards.
Love the style, clean sound, range. Makes you pay attention.
Such a talent. Proudly Canadien. A great hockey player. A better musician. What an absolute treat to our ears and lives. This is M.Night.Shyamalam in musical form!!!
Someone needs to give the man a guitar
He's a great pianist, just by the way :) Listen to his "Great Escape" song....no turning back then :)
Graham Werner I love how he moves to the music - like he is channeling his energy not only through his voice. He is beautiful to listen to and to watch.
Love that too ... musical genius
El esta tocando otro instrumento , su alma .
I love this. So original. I have enjoyed the sound of these 3 songs and their differences but the way they do them they hv a cohesiveness. Beautiful. What a talented band too.
Literally the 17th time I've watched this video.
Piker. I suspect that I'm on number 50, here. :)
This is one of my favorite things on this planet
Such a lovely version of Into Giants in this setting! Kudos from Canada for this!
Quando a pessoa sente a música é outro nível! Nossa o patrick é demais 🤧💜
The best musician that I ever seen
This channel brings out the most underrated artists and i love it
My mind and body and everything is blown.
Why would people dislike this? It's good.
***** Because they don't understand it. Most people need to train their ears to be able to appreciate the brilliance of this music.
I love how he barely opened his eyes during Adventures into Your Own Backyard
ahh beautiful music. like a breath of fresh air
He's the best! Thank you NPR.
This is pure beauty. Love it with ever cell of my body. ♥
The band is amzing... Love that sound of the guiter
his voice is unique. and if you look into more of his music before judging, you may think twice before posting hate. i thoroughly enjoyed this and will continue to support him from now on.
This man comes from between the lines of my memories.
