Had a hard time deciding colors on this one with the interior being red and white…but since I had this color laying around I figured it’s a good time to see what this looks like in a car. It will look a lot better once I lower it and put wheels on trust me. That’s coming very soon! I just wanted to put something on to help protect it from the rain this winter. This is a good practice run to see what paint issues it still has and how much more bodywork I need to put in. As you can see I was still scraping off bad paint from the wrap so a gloss color woulda been a waste. Once we finish with the wide body and motor we can decide on a better color.
First colors would've looked better but still look good

I think I would have done the first choice over the second choice. The second wrap looks a bit faded from the texture but I also enjoy looking at darker colors too. Oh well, at least you can wrap it whenever you want! Nice video.
Once I do some more bodywork, wheels and lower it, I will wrap it again maybe in the dragon scale. The paint is just too jacked up right now for a glossy wrap to look good

I liked the first color you did, the sparkly red doesn’t seem to fit well in my opinion
White trim inserts to match the white roof would have really made the car less mid line heavy but overall real NICE!!

Honestly I was saddened to see you not wrap it all in that dragon scale color man think it would of looked bitchin with any gloss color other then thud diamond color to be honest but since I know its more for the purpose to show the color and temporary its all good I like the fact it's all uniform now and looking fresh regardless
Honestly the first one was 🔥 1000x better than the red, it looks like you sand the car and left it like that, or you wash it with clorox and the paint fade

I still like the car and even though some people dislike what they are seeing, I bet it looks alot better in person since I've seen quite a few of your wraps in person. Not to mention it is not so complete yet. I'm sure the changes are gonna change some minds when it is done the way (you) like it. Keep up the amazing work my good sir!

Yeah I think the candy red will look better, but we will decide that after I wide body it. The bodywork is still too terrible with paint still flaking off for it to be in a glossy color. You would see everything

I've been so hyped for this project, my dude. JDMboi with a USDM classics soft spot....I can appreciate the diversity! The wrap is fire. I think people need to wait before they judge the outcome. Wheels/restored trim can completely transform the looks of a car. I'm rockin with it, bro. Can't wait to see what kind of rollers you decide to go with! Bro...some chromed, custom re-drilled/re-barrelled 18" old school Work Emitz (retain that old school 100 spoke look with a jdm twist) with freshly rechromed side moldings and bumpers to match...oh lawd.

My uncle Left my Cousin a 57 retractable hard top when he passed away and another 2 door hard top we use to drive them once in a while to high school and blew everyone’s minds that seen the retractable function lmao unfortunately my cousin ended up selling them not long after highschool and bought his first house! Love seeing that you have one brother they were styling ahead of their time

I would of preferred the dragon scale look. I would of changed interior for that. But hey everyone has their own preference. Still did a good job bro.

you did a great job but personally I would of done it in a candy apple glossy wrap because all the chrome on the car has basically lost it shine and the glossy wrap would add some needed shine.... that's just me
Yes I agree, but with the paint still chipping off, a gloss wrap would look terrible until I have the time to do better bodywork

What's great about you trying new colors that might not work on this specific super cool old school, is the colors that don't fit, you can get an idea of how they lay and look on a car if someone else wants that color, and you get more content, which we ALL want!

Another OG body mans secret is BONDO GLASS (FIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC FILLER). This product works well to strengthen rusted areas where you need to seal and support a metal area that is larger than a 1/2 inch. Use this with a "perforated mesh reinforcement patch" found at most auto parts stores. Use this in conjunction with final coat of regular bondo and, after much sanding you can restore many areas using these products.
👍Paradox, my man. As for as the rusty areas, try using Coroseal or Rust Kutter on the trunk, rocker panels, door bottoms and anywhere else you need to stop the rust from reforming. COROSEAL is great because it's a rust converter AND a primer ALL in ONE. Pretty sick. Either will work though. Then, after using a wire brush and sanding to prep, brush on either product (you can also spray them on) apply and let the vehicle set overnight. Then the following morning, prep as per the manufacturers directions and perform the wrap process that you have "dialed in" so well.

Going with a two-tone was a great idea. I really like the white top. I would wrap the dashboard, and I think the dashboard would look good in black or gray.

My preference would be a dark color. Will make the car more chic. With a red white interior, exterior 3M black rose would look very nice. Or a candy red.

This car needs a two-tone exterior. Candy Red & white. A solid color all around doesn't do this car justice.

you wrapped this boat with a 60ft roll also? also agree with post below. white insert on the trim would look better.
Regarding the passenger window issue, those cars had a window stop in the door which is adjustable.
Except for the bumpers all of the trim is stainless steel so can be polished to look like knew. But for the overall look you are after, that interior pattern has to go!
Sad to say it but that interior reminds me of an old beach umbrella.
