    Thanks a ton for this video! I had attempted to install this but couldn't identify the proper 2pin connector behind the radio on my first try. After watching your video I was able to finish my install and it was much easier than I thought - thank you very much.
    - a happy camper.

    I recommend leaving the vacuum line for any bov untouched since teeing anything off of it will affect (to some extent) the bov's ability to release pressure.
    Good vid.

    awesome video, I couldnt find the white pig tail at all, but didnt remove the AC control panel, heading out to the car to try to find it, btw it is a 2002 wrx , manual

    @Robert Ridgewell thanks for watching , the housing looks proprietary to the gauge and the steering housing. Fitting a different gauge may cause a ton of little customizations to the gauge housing which I do not think is sold separately . I purchased my gauge and housing complete with electrical , air hose and restrictor pill on EBay used.

    Thanks for this video. I'm going to get the whole grimmspeed coupler kit and do this install at the same time.

    Why? Why? Why? Would you take of the intercololer? There's a grommet right by the throttle, and Cutting the waste gate line? Good way for a boost spike...there's a Barb right in the intake manifold, that meant to be tapped for this specific reason.

    The bypass valve is the teeing off point. The gauge will read in vacuum and boost so yes, you will have both vac and boost on your teeing point.

    @german996 thanks , the connection may be taped up along with the stereo connections. Maybe someone else can help with the illumination pigtail location on a 2002. Your AC controls have wires so don't pull it , you can lift enough to search for the pigtail.

  • @svtwrc
    @svtwrc  13 лет назад

    I was told that teeing from the bypass- blow off valve was fine as long as you use the pill provided in the line by the gauge. Some took it out and had some issues. I see what your point though and will do some research. Thanks.

    @LllownedNYC the instructions were pulled from the Subaru of America Technical System and were followed exactly. You would think they knew but I guess not. The barb is the one that goes to the black diaphragm near the intake?

    Hi, Do anyone know size of the restrictor pill. My gauge lacks it, but I could make one if I could obtain exact size of it...

    Awesome video bro. Question for you, where did you buy the stock gauge from? I can only seem to find the 2008+ boost gauges. Any help appreciated. Guessing you got it from a dealer or someone selling it off there car?

    Where did you get the actual gauge kit? Can the housing come separate? Can you use any other gauge kit with this housing? Thanks

    So I installed this gauge on my 2012 Sti I made it work like story short and it looks flush and nice. I went to tap into the boost line thinking the size was the same turns out it’s bigger bit the car is gonna sit for a day until I can get the proper tee really upset about that

      Ryan Almeida oh no maybe the 2012 uses a diff hose from the 04 .

    Just checking, you are teeing it off from the blow off valve correct? and would it also do vacuum? in a vacuum/boost gauge?

    My gauge seems to stay in (vac) or bottom half of gauge most the time when cruising unless im pushing it then it is up in the other half of the gauge( boost )is this normal???

    when i removed that grommet to access the firewall i found insulation and hard material, hard to squeeze the line through... whats ur solution for that?

    • @pdiz
      @pdiz 9 лет назад

      Pablo Delgado There are a lot of different grommets, are you sure you used the right one? The manual I have from Subaru (albeit, it's for the Baja Turbo model), says to use the one right next to the power brake booster. I'm sure it's different or the STI.

    what is the stock boost engine for an STI 2010 stock? i am reading 7 to 8 PSI max on my 4th gear, is that normal or i should have more from a stock engine, knowing that my engine has 90K on its ODO
    thank you

    • @svtwrc
      @svtwrc  8 лет назад

      The lamco gauge sits below 0 to start so readings are not accurate as I use my gauge as a reference . Stock psi should be around 14.5 and the only accurate way is to use a Cobb AP or an electronic boost gauge. My STi stock tune w Cobb intake and Mishimoto inlet reads .08. @ 14.5 psi. Being that the gauge is inaccurate it reads around 1-1/2 psi low so I hook the Cobb up to test accuracy and it reads 14.3 psi. It may be silly but that's how I use the gauge to see if it I'm in the area .

  • @bruhb9810

    mine usually reads .5 but that’s like when my throttle is down like 60% so not like full throttle and when i do go full throttle it either stays at .5 or goes a little above that it could be that i’m a little hesitant to go pull throttle and to red line but i don’t know is that normal?

    • @svtwrc
      @svtwrc  2 года назад

      All depends on if your stock around 14.5 psi converted to mega pascal, if your tuned you can go above that into the 16-19 and onward I just don’t have the conversion in front of me now.
