Wait a minute...she actually did research, looking specifically for an ACTIVE dog...? (4:07) Why?? What kind of activity did she think she could offer him??? This woman was definitely voluntarily looking for trouble. Well, that´s what she got...
I'm a low energy person, so I opted for a low energy dog. An English Mastiff. They are about as low energy as they come. But he slobbered and shed so much that I was constantly having to work cleaning up after him. 😅 He was a great boy though, and very easily trainable and gentle with everyone. He passed away in 2022. I opted not to get another one, because they have such short lives, and it was heartbreaking to lose him. I have an elderly rescue from a shelter who has been a great dog. I also have a much younger and way more high energy dog that somebody dumped near my house, and she found her way here. I've managed to keep her content by using an off road vehicle to take her on runs.
I think she didn't understand the levels of activity. She didn't want a sofa lump. She wanted a dog that would play with the kids, not realizing how *active* an active dog could be. She got an active dog and then didn't know how to be the owner of an active dog. So her research wasn't the problem. Her lack of knowledge as to being a dog owner created the problem.
This breed is very family friendly and playful, she got exactly what she wanted. But she didnt know how to handle it and hoped the dog would behave on its own without her having to assert any dominance and training.

@fdm2155 As long as the dog gets the work, it doesn't matter that it's a suburban home but that woman ain't gonna walk/run that animal 1 to 2 hours a day. The kids sure won't; he's far too strong for them now let aline once he's fully grown. That leaves the husband. Something tells me he ain't gonna put in the time or the work. I have a problem with people treating animal like "babies." So many children and people are without anything and yet you have time to treat a dog like a "baby." I encountered the same thing with students who were big, strapping teenagers and had parents, usually moms, who still "bottle feed" their children, refuse to have consequences for bad behavior. So then, it's up to an unrelated professional to go back and teach the basics of dog or even human behavior.
I've "trained" a couple of dogs that will be in my mind and heart til I die. There's a Chihuahua that I still think about after over 10 year later, his "transformation" was amazing and heartwarming. That it happened from a chance meeting with a group of teens, they had a chance to see it happen right in front of them.
I love Vizslas! I’ll never own another breed. But they are high energy and the puppy phase is a nightmare. Lots of exercise and lots of training or they get destructive and wild. I’ve had hunting and show lines. If you don’t hunt, show lines are a little smaller and a little less driven, but not by much. People need to do research and not buy breeds for their looks. I spend about 3 hours a day exercising/training.

What irritates the most is the assumption that, because this is breed X it will respond like breed X no matter what I do or, more likely, what I don't do. It will respond in a uniform way no matter the situation. It's the same with some people who emigrate to The States and think, 'tomorrow I'll be an American, without any input or effort from me'.

She clearly loves the dog and wants what is best for Whiskey. Respect to her for not giving up on the dog and doing the hard yards and respect for taking ownership of the fact that it was her actions before the training that contributed to the dogs bad behaviour.
Sometimes too much love can make festering wounds. Also, So many people want a dog to fulfill their _own_ needs and never bother with the natural needs of the dog.
I cannot with these comments. Sounds like half the people commenting communicate beautifully with their dogs and those dogs, I suspect, are their only “friends”.
Or perhaps “book” research. It’s important for people considering a breed to go see them in lots of situations: obedience classes, dog shows, hunting dog clubs (for Vizlas)… I think this was probably the first dog the Mom ever owned. Why didn’t the breeder at a minimum recommend obedience classes for the parents? Certainly the breeder should have told her/his clients - that is a must!
the weighted backpack makes a return! and seems to be helping as good as ever but whee, glad the owners at least tried to research the dog they were getting, not as much as hey should've but it's better then we usually get on this type of show
I found a dog that looked like him with his brother that looked a little different but had same coloring but a vizsla but the rescue I talked to said they weren't. Glad they got him under control before he got older.
A lot of dog owners need to be educated before owning a dog. An example here is the owner always giving affection to their dog when it misbehaved. This is one of the biggest mistakes some owners have.
We've had hunting dogs, including a wire haired Vizsla, our whole lives and never went hunting once. If they're walked enough and know their place in the pack they are fantastic pets.
in all honesty to this nice family , i think they got the wrong dog for them, they don't have the time to invest in what that breed needs. time and a lot of physical activity.

Why buying a Visla and then complaining about its natural behavior? Its 5 month old. A TEENAGER! Really? Guys, go get yourself a lap-dog! Stupid owners!
Cesar is the true dog whisper. For guard breeds, Garret Wing has greatly helped me. Joel Beckman has a lot of good tips, though I'm not a fan of the Gentle Leader. I've applied Gary Wilkes method to help with jumping. He uses a rolled-up towel. He'll bop them and firmly say "NO!" He also throws a towel at them. I use whatever is laying around. A pillow works, even thrown beside my dog. Saw another trainer using a toy rubber hammer. Same principle, something to get their attention, doesn't hurt them, and sends the pup a strong message. This isn't aggressive behavior. This pup is awaiting instructions that the owners don't know how to deliver. As mentioned, this behavior will get worse as they grow. Teaching an adult can require a professional and cost a lot of money. They'll still have to teach the owner. One of my 21-month-old pups has energy like this. He was neutered at 18 months, but it didn't affect his energy level. He's addicted to the laser pointer. He'll chase the green pointer continuously in a large, open field. Leash walks and back yard sprints, aren't enough for a dog like this. A doggy friend with the same energy can help. Pack walks are awesome! Be nice if someone in my hometown would open a puppy training obstacle course. Could have a place to swim and play with other puppies their own age and size. Bad behavior is learned at dog parks. Pups can still socialize outside the gate or in the secluded training section. This a safe way for them to meet other pups/dogs they like and bring them together.
Not sure what mom was researching when it came to dogs, but a Vizsla is a hunting dog. They need a job to do and if they don't have one, they are going to hunt you or your children.

Please put URLs in your description for dog walking leads you recommend. Training leads and harnesses. I have got leads what looks like what you use plus a harness and I do try to keep calm while walking my 4 month old pup but she just keeps pulling no matter how many times I try to walk her the way you explain. Also turning back to confuse her she just pulls hard the other way. Always excited. If she had enough with walking she just sits and will not move. This makes the walk very difficult and she WILL NOT wear a harness. She goes off her head trying to get it off. Thanks for all you do.
I really can't understand why people want to have dog if they don't understand this animal kind! Vizsla is a hunter dog they need lots of move not to sit on the coach. The human's ego and stupidity is very huge!
Nice to see the puppy getting it… side note, would comments ever be disabled? People are losing their minds on this app, and under these videos. Lots of dysfunctional comments here. Would be nice to enjoy these videos without scrolling and seeing cruel and ignorant words from bullies… I think it’s important they remember how to withhold their thoughts.
Yes, but people can have whatever opinion they want to have about whomever regardless of how unreasonable. And no one is saying "cruel" things just things we disagree with.
I agree. The personal attacks against this family should be monitored better. People come to the comment section to hear about tips and other people's experiences. Trolls in the comments is the opposite of what this channel is about. Sure, people can say what they want but that doesn't mean there can't be push back from decent humans.
The husband's body language shows he probably didn't want the dog. Not comforting her when she was crying, and saying he wanted to rehome Whiskey. Speaks volume!
I have a Lab mix. I have gotten him through everything on the agility course except the teeter totter. The fact that it moves under him, is just too much still. Not sure I would make that one the first thing I would work a dog through. Whiskey seems like a smart dog, he's not really aggressive. Just very high energy. Hopefully he will work out for the family.
I wish they would visit the families again in a year or so. I’d love to know if they stuck with it and how well the dogs are.

12:50-literally EVERY Cesar Millan episode ever
My favorite video! So heartwarming ❤
I cannot with these comments. Sounds like half the people commenting communicate beautifully with their dogs and those dogs, I suspect, are their only “friends”.
enjoyed every moment of the video
cesar you are phenomenal brother!!!!!!
Shalom from the Ohio valley 🎉
I love this ❤️
She did extensive research to end up with the wrong dog😂😂
Or perhaps “book” research. It’s important for people considering a breed to go see them in lots of situations: obedience classes, dog shows, hunting dog clubs (for Vizlas)… I think this was probably the first dog the Mom ever owned. Why didn’t the breeder at a minimum recommend obedience classes for the parents? Certainly the breeder should have told her/his clients - that is a must!
the weighted backpack makes a return! and seems to be helping as good as ever
but whee, glad the owners at least tried to research the dog they were getting, not as much as hey should've but it's better then we usually get on this type of show
Love you Caesar. You’re an amazing human being 🤗🤗. Australia
I found a dog that looked like him with his brother that looked a little different but had same coloring but a vizsla but the rescue I talked to said they weren't. Glad they got him under control before he got older.
My gosh Benson is soooo cute 😮❤
This is another down fall of social media. People see cute animals and go and buy them. Goes for exotic and illegal animals too.
I always enjoy your show!
Contratame Cesar..!! ❤
Nice ❤️
A lot of dog owners need to be educated before owning a dog. An example here is the owner always giving affection to their dog when it misbehaved. This is one of the biggest mistakes some owners have.
Why get a hunting dog when you have kids!
I have 2 kids and 2 hunting dogs, they all love each other, the dogs are exercised every day and everything works well so I don’t get your point
We've had hunting dogs, including a wire haired Vizsla, our whole lives and never went hunting once. If they're walked enough and know their place in the pack they are fantastic pets.
Yes you do@@Doncorleone44
Exactly 😮
That’s not the issue
Hi, guys. I am comeback again! Sir Cesar Millan is a master class of the dog trainer
Why does this comment section hate this family so much?
Because they're particularly stupid.
Wow what a beautiful family great job Ceaser
They should have gotten a Golden Retriever, they are gentle and great with kids.
Yup, I agree. Golden Retrievers, one size fits all.
They need training too.
Please dear Cesar we need you to educate people the same as dogs, thank you!
Thanks for sharing 😊
in all honesty to this nice family , i think they got the wrong dog for them, they don't have the time to invest in what that breed needs. time and a lot of physical activity.
After a few weeks of getting some help the puppy is a perfect match for their family. Did you watch the end of the video?
@@maleahlock everything always works out perfect in the end ....of the vid. ....anything else would be too much for americans to wrap their heads around. sounds like you got something invested in this vid.?, you think Caesar needs your help? or these people? or are you just looking for an argument, do you know these people personally? if so , maybe you can tell us how it's all going.....cause i'm really interested in what you think...NOT!.
magic man✨✨✨✨✨👏🌞
Looks likeCessar has gotten control of.some of his older footage❤
Can’t think of anyone who’s helped out more people, therefore dogs! IMHO🐕
Why buying a Visla and then complaining about its natural behavior? Its 5 month old. A TEENAGER! Really? Guys, go get yourself a lap-dog! Stupid owners!
My sister has five dogs, four too many, and I dog whisper them every time I go over, but she’s not paying attention more than her dogs 😂😂😂
People need to buy a dog based off of the dog's needs, not the dog's looks.
HELLO, saw this Video claro, sometimes on TV my Dogwhisperer ❤❤❤❤ Perfect help for this super nice family which is really interesting in having hold on with their Doggie Whiskey, great 💯👍 GREETINGS MARTINA DANIELA
My kids, my dog, my two loves at once
I feel the mon. least she trying :)
Some can be cruel yes. But why scroll through them if you don’t want to see them? Just watch the video 😉
Looks like it is just not the dogs that need training, but us too 😅
@ it is us 99% of the time 😅
The mistake people make with having animals is they are too emotional forgetting that it's not human. Even humans need structure and how much animals.
“After extensive research I decided a hunting dog is perfect”
The husband's body language shows he probably didn't want the dog. Not comforting her when she was crying, and saying he wanted to rehome Whiskey. Speaks volume!
I caught that too but he made up for it when he said the best part of the day at the ranch was seeing his wife’s face training Whiskey
Dog became SO aggressive now
😢😢
I have a Lab mix. I have gotten him through everything on the agility course except the teeter totter. The fact that it moves under him, is just too much still. Not sure I would make that one the first thing I would work a dog through. Whiskey seems like a smart dog, he's not really aggressive. Just very high energy. Hopefully he will work out for the family.
Yeah ! 👏💗
Looking into a dog walker if as a family you can't get them some exercise. My friend has 2 and she spends all weekend hiking for hours.
the quick shot of the camera men running 🤣
