I love it so far! But why did you choose to start with an M3 Chassis when you were planning on doing a motor swap anyways? Wouldn't it be cheaper to get a 323ci or something near the end of it's life as a street car and swap the S54 into there?
So prruuuetty. Your first scratch will always be the worst, so when I see the car, I'll key the door and you won't have to think about when is coming. Your welcome.
I recommend using 3M paint protection film in high wear areas to protect from tire marks. Areas such as leading edge of hood, behind lower rear fenders, headlights, rearward edge/side of front bumper. Easier to clean and easily removed/replaced. Avail by the roll on Amzn.
How exciting! Just like a house, it costs more to build a race car than to buy one, but this way you get exactly what you want. Single stage paint makes sense on a race car as it's easier to repair. As for detailing products, Griot's Bug and Smudge Remover will remove bugs and light tire marks. Wax and grease remover aka Prep-Sol will remove the stubborn ones. Then use the spay wax of your choice, I use Optimum Car Wax, it's quick and easy and can be used on fresh paint.
Great suggestions on the detailing products. I got away with it with the last car because it was black haha. Even then I could still see tire marks up close.
Hit the high wear areas with a clear bra and look into a ceramic coating on there to protect the rest (cquartz uk 3.0). Jescar powerlock or Collinite 845 for great sealants. Let that paint gas out before covering it with any Protectants. I think the general rule is 60-90 days. Any time you wash, you can use a spray wax on there while drying and it waxes while drying your car.

Good idea with the matte black
Thanks! Drove a friend’s car and couldn’t see a thing out the back due to the glare. It was brutal!
