    They’re moving faster now because the shooting scripts for A2-A5 were fully written back in 2015-2017. They then shot A2, A3, and half of A4 simultaneously, so it’s mostly about post production at this point.

      @@cwega2463 No, A3 wasn't completely filmed by 2020. Covid shut the entire entertainment industry down for over a year and a half during 2020 and 2021. There was also delay caused by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. Filming for Fire and Ash wasn't announced as being completed until April 2024. Cameron also called back several actors during June 2024 for additional shots and reshoots (Sam Worthington and Joel David Moore); the latest known was Sigourney Weaver who finished in August 2024. Rendering just a single frame takes a god-awful amount of time, and that's what the majority of the waiting time from now until release is composed of.

      If it's like A2, there isn't going to be an extended version like A1. What hits theaters will be the final product aside from some released deleted scenes / behind-the-scenes footage as part of special features.

    • @micthewill947
      @micthewill947 9 дней назад

    • @SpiritHawk7
      @SpiritHawk7 9 дней назад

      @@micthewill947 There highly likely isn’t going to be an extended version. The only reason the first Avatar had a collector’s version is due to the film being cut to 2.5 hours for theaters. It was less risky to rerelease the film with extended versions to get it back to what it should have originally been. Now that they know that audiences will tolerate a 3 hour film in theaters reliably, the films are edited to full length right at the start.

      I can’t for the life of me understand how someone couldn’t appreciate the little details of the Avatar films given the process it takes to make these movies. James Cameron is a really smart guy and also very analytical. I think this number is somewhat mathematical. Maybe he noticed that in every limited series we fall in love just seeing characters in 3 episodes at that point characters could almost be doing anything. Of course he knows story structure and everything else but I think there is some thoughts behind this. The only thing that works against him is the release date if he makes it, is still like a million days away in age of ai development. Who is to say generative content creation doesn't just kill the film industry by the end of the year...

    That the runtime is about equal to the Way of Water, is not news, I thought you were going to give us an exact runtime. The more interesting question is: Will we get an extended version of the Way Of Water before part 3 arrives. At one point, part 3 was like 5 or 6 hours long, so there's also a lot of potential for an extended edition... and Cameron has hinted at extended versions earlier in a conversation with Denis Villeneuve. @kenbozu1 Cameron is still the creator of the I.P.. Unless a person is both the writer and director, the director is bound by the script and only visually determines what a scene looks like (from a camera / audience perspective). A producer coordinates all of the production departments. Just because Cameron didn’t visually control the look of the film via camera angles, it doesn’t mean that he wasn’t highly involved with the process of making the film. Writers create content. Without the writer, nothing can be added or changed during production. That’s how the writers strikes 🪧 shut down the entertainment industry as production can only use what’s written in its current state.

      Things that are overrated don't consistently stay at the top, they fade overtime and get replaced when people's attention shifts. Quality craftsmanship endures. Also, at least two of those films ("Titanic" and "Avatar") never set out to be blockbusters and could have very well have easily been very expense box-office losses. It was word of mouth from people who had seen the films that enticed others to view them, especially in the case of "Titanic" (it's highest grossing box-office date ever was Valentine's Day 1998 seven weeks after it released in December 1997). "TWOW" rode the wave of dedicated fans that carried over from "Avatar" (in which "Avatar" was bolstered by rereleases).
