Love the English countryside! When I was in Bath last year, I actually thought about maybe buying a house there, but then I quickly realized, I'm not a gazillionaire :)
Words are only as good as their meaning, and if Americans want to make the distinction between unpasteurised apple juice and alcoholic cider, then I don't particularly mind.
@@mymic208 And theres no such thing as apple cider. Cider IS fermented apple. Only apple so no need to name it twice. Cider is made from apples Perry is made from pears.
old-fashionned apple cider? with metal barrels????? try normandy or breizh (britany) little farm where cider is made with oask barrels.... no additves to, just fermented apples in a bottle.
Ronan Verhulst There are metal barrels at Rogers, but the maturing is in oak! How on earth could he maintain consistency and hygiene??? Have you been there are you just acting the boring Dutch Uncle? I live in Brittany and whilst the individual locals make real cider, and excellent grog, the mass producers are as bad as anywhere else. Commercial cider is bland and around 4.5%! Frankly you will not get better cider in Brittany than at Wilkins farm, primarily because the Breton's have lost the diversity of apple strains. Blame the CAP.
j'ai encore un grand oncle qui fait du cidre, dans des tonneaux de chêne.. il fait sa petite production, ne la commercialise pas. c'est le meilleur cidre que je connaisse.
You know metal has been around for along time right? His grandad who was making cider in the 1920-1940s probably used metal barrels at some point. Cider is normally matured in oak barrels but not necessarily fermented in them..
This stuff looks like gods nectar. I've just started making me own mead and cider. Can't wait to try it...🤤
I went to see Mr Wilkins a few weeks ago, He will be genuinely offended if you don't have a few drinks before buying something!
I'm a true cider drinking from the forest of dean, and I loves me scrumpy. Rougher the better
After my visit to Roger's, I now plan on making some scrumpy in a few years. Proper dry, cloudy and strong!
I can personally attest that scrumpy will sneak up on you and F**K your S**T up and laugh at you while you sit in the ruins.... god I miss that stuff!
Couldn't put it better myself
Id love to work on a cider farm ..
Omg Ricks accent is SO cute!!
I'm a proud somerset lass. yeehaaa lol

Jeez that looks delicious.
Brilliant! Are ya heading back to Ireland again Rick?
You know this was filmed in England?
Great video. Did you enjoy Somerset?
brilliant
Proper farmers accent
His accent reminds me of Brian Johnson from AC/DC.
There is nothing called hard cider. It's cider or its apple juice!

Cider is made from apples
Perry is made from pears.
...and then pop next door for some bare-knuckle boxing.
This shite they sell in the shops has never seen a apple
Apple cider and lamb make a fine dinner...
mhtinla All cider is apple. Pear is Perry.
Looks like niam lieson
I love cider, however that cost very very very much because the tax is very big in Denmark.....you cannot afford it..sorry...Gurli from DEnmark..

They're not metal barrels, in the UK still real cider is sometimes distributed in tubs, and that's what you can see in this video.

He's got an interesting accent - more like Irish to my ears.
