  • Cider making documentary made in 2018. The cider was made using all of the original kit, including the cider mill, made in Mark Foundry in 1867 still going strong after 151 years. This could also be used as cider making tips. This would be suitable for cider making for beginners.

Brings back such memories of childhood in Glos. Wurzles played our local fate when I was about 5yo I think :)

Love the traditional ways to make cider...! Especially notorious the difference between europeans and northamericans!

Thanks for the video! Two questions: are most of the apples windfalls and do you need to sort out the bad ones, and was that just straw between the layers of ground apple? I'm used to seeing layers of apple wrapped in cloth, but hadn't seen anyone use straw before.
    I hope it was delicious.

manatoa1 Hi! Thanks for the comment. Some of the apples are wind fall, otherwise we shake the tree before picking up. We tend to not pick up the bad ones. We use long stemmed straw to separate the layers and haven’t tried cloth. The cider tastes great thanks!

The ONLY way to harvest cider, just as we do here in The New Forest.

Pipe the exhaust gases outside for goodness sake!

Aha! We had just got the new engine installed, and had not attached the exhaust yet. Later in the video you can see the exhaust going out the roof with the gas! Thanks!
