- We're back with another review and fix shiny pokemon video! This time around, we'll be taking a look at gen 4 shiny pokemon. We got a look at these pokemon a lot recently with the release of the pokemon games Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl as well as Legends Arceus. These 107 gen 4 pokemon, first introduced to us with pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, will get the chance to haver alternative shiny colors in today's video, depending on whether the pokemon community at large likes or dislikes their shiny. Let's find out: are the shinies from Sinnoh good, bad, or just OK? We'll take a look at them all and fix the shiny pokemon that don't seem to be liked as much (though if you like them, that is a-OK and there's nothing wrong with that)!
Whether you're a dedicated shiny hunter, you just like to see pokemon being given new color swaps, or you like pokemon theories, this could be the video for you! We'll be diving into the expansive world of generation 4 shiny pokemon from the Sinnoh region: from cute and adorable shiny starter pokemon like Piplup, Turtwig and Chimchar, to powerful and cool pokemon like the mythical pokemon Darkrai and legendary pokemon Dialga, Palkia and Giratina! Every shiny from this gen will be accounted for!
We'll take a look at our very own shiny pokemon designs, creating unique new shiny pokemon based primarily on feedback from the pokemon community, as well as real-life inspirations! Will your favorite pokemon be getting a new shiny today? These fakemon designs will have you wanting to pick up you Nintendo Switch and any of the countless gen 4 pokemon games and get shiny hunting!

Box legendaries having black shinies is sometimes overused but Dialga and Palkia would definitely deserve it more due to their themes, and they give some Primal Dialga vibes.
I like KangasKid18's idea of having shiny Dialga and Palkia swap colors.
I actually like Bronzong being a less saturated green. It makes it feel worn down by time.
Okay everybody know how Cynthia's Garchomp is weirdly purple in the anime, THAT should be the shiny form.

Speaking of Torterra, will there be a good time to upload "Torterra with Each Type"? Besides, if Torterra might be pure Ground-Type, it is similar to most Arid Deserts. And the rest of the easier kinds may be referencing other minerals and Landscapes.

Torterra is already partially based on the Ankylosaurus.
I still feel like the pink/green isn't right for the Togepi line. Maybe swap it to like... sky blue with white, for a cloudy sky?

Really like a lot of the changes you made in this and other videos! Though do wish we could've seen your take on a custom shiny of Giratina!
I personally am not a fan of Giratina's shiny, so whenever I make a custom I usually change the yellow to a cool icy blue and leave the rest.

I've always wanted Lopunny and Glaceon to get a nice snow white shiny color since I doubt they'd ever get regional forms.

I also like that you included different variants to show how the character artists could’ve experimented more with other possibilities. It’s impressive really how you tackled so many different palette swaps in such a short amount of time. But it’s even more impressive since you even included the original shiny designs that seem to pass community reviews.
I can really see this video had alot of love and effort put into it! Not only on the designs but the research for community opinion. If you ever tackle the other generations I’d be super ecstatic.

While hunting for shiny Kricketot in Scarlet, I got clickbaited by a Kricketot, because it looked more yellowish under sunshine.
Oh noooo! 😭 It's crazy how much the new lighting/textures changed shiny hunting for certain pokemon in Scarlet and Violet.

I do NOT like Riolu/Lucario's shinies. It's supposed to look gold but it looks almost green to me. Don't get me wrong, green is my favorite color, but a green-ish yellow is ugly on one of the coolest/popular pokemon.
If I could redo the shiny, I'd change the dark blue back to black, and make the yellow a bit warmer so it looks more like gold rather than pee. My opinion lol
Subtle doesn’t always equal bad, and by the same logic, changing every colour doesn’t always equal good
99% of subtle shinies are bad though
I'm colorblind so I really don't find subtlety to be a good thing. Even seemingly big differences aren't necessarily obvious for everyone.
Subtle only works if it’s noticeable
People love the Primal Dialga design for it to be Dialga's shiny, but Dialga's shiny is quite nice being mint-aqua but the pink Palkia is a bit weird. Blue Pearls are the rarest type so maybe a blueish Palkia with blue pearls in the shoulders would be nice

Okay, the only thing I have to say about the bronzor and bronzong shinys is that. Yeah, the green is less saturated, but that’s because the blue in their normal colours is less saturated. If people are gonna complain about that, I don’t know it’s just a difference that kind of makes sense.
Love the vids. Just a suggestion if you could slow down a little bit sometimes you move onto the next pokemon before i can take in the change you made. Looking forward to gen 5 one of my favorite gens !!! ❤

I'm giving my honest opinion now.
Most of the shinies you've "fixed" before I didn't like, but this time there were many I actually thought had good changes:
All Starters, Burmy/Wormadame, Cherubi/Cherrim, Chingling, Happiny, Garchomp (especially the beta design), Hippopotas/Hippowdon, Drapion, Carnivine, Finneon/Lumineon (even though I like the originals), Manytke, Snover/Abomasnow, Sneasel/Weavyle (beta design), Magnezone, Togekiss, Leafeon/Glaceon, Mamoswine, Froslass (2nd one), Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Palkia and Heatran (the black one).
This is not supposed to be a hate comment for the videos before, just honest critique.

Torterra is my favourite fully evolved starter Pokémon but the shiny is terrible. I love the idea of seasonal inspired shiny forms.

All i want for a shiny is for the coloring to be obvious at a glance and at a distance and to be aesthetically pleasing.
Also, i believe that gens 1-4 shiny colors were chosen by algorithm and they started manually coloring them in gen 5.
some ideas for gen 5's shinies
for Snivy's line how about pink to reflect pink flowers
for oshawott and dewott maybe make them a red color. for samurott how about a black one.
for petilil make her pink to match to matchh the flower in liligant's shiny.
for cottonee and whimsicott make them pink with magenta leaves and the eyes can be blue
for vanillite's evo's make them the same as vanillite's shiny.
for frillish and jellicent how about we swap the male and female's color's
litwick and lampent can have orange flames to match chandelure's shiny
7:27 If only this could be used for a Carnivine evolution. Granted, this would make another Grass/Dragon type, but it could be interesting.
That said, I do like your shiny idea for Carnivine. I love the winter shiny you came up with for the Turtwig line and the black shiny for the Piplup line.
It would be really neat to see Carnivine get an evolution! Glad you liked it's alternate shiny as well as the winter Turtwig line and Piplup line 😊
i would love it if the sewaddle line had shinies that are blue.
maybe tynamo's shiny can be the opposite of its original colors.
the roggenrola line can be red with yellow and orange accents.
for the gen 5 fossil pokemon tirtouga and carracosta maybe make them a greyish brown
archen and archeops the other unova fossils can be shades of blue
karrablast and escavalier can be the opposite colors of shelmet and accelgor's shinies
it would be cool if the tepig line changed to black

Your alternate honchkrow would be hell to hunt… I usssually find my S/V honchkrowsss at night and it wouldn’t be very obviousss in the dark.

how do u make these? ive tried to make some but they arent the best
I bring the official artwork into Photoshop. In the menu bar at the top, I click on Select > Color Range to pick one color in the art that I want to change. When you do that, it creates a selection of just the areas with that color. With that area selected, I click on Create New Fill or Adjustment Layer (it's the half black, half white circle icon at the bottom of the Layers panel) > Hue/Saturation. Then just adjust the sliders for Hue, Saturation and Lightness! I also usually check the Colorize checkbox at the bottom of the Hue/Saturation panel. Then just repeat for any other colors you want to change 😄
This can probably be done in other programs, too, but I'm only familiar with Photoshop!
Shiny Dialga gives me the shiny gift Pokémon.
Since gen 5 is next I feel an urge to bring up Elgyem is LGM, Little Green Man.

Shinx line: either swap the too similar orange for neon blue or lighten the yellow to lemon. A black white & electric blue also works but a dark blue, not the weird desaturated one like Umbreon gets as a shiny but a true midnight black
