The easiest way is to look them up in the context of the area you wish to go to e.g. “Oberon public fossicking areas” or go to information centres in the area you want to go. Otherwise, you can look at my video about using the Minview website.
The sapphire for my wife's engagement ring came from the side of the hill at Porters Retreat. That was forty years ago, even then finding virgin ground was not easy.
Yes, it has been trawled over numerous times. It's a nice spot to take wash from Sapphire Bend though. That's cool getting the sapphire for your wife's engagement ring. Very special.
That's sensational, as I can say the same thing, only one better! My wife's ring has (some of its) gold and a nice 4ct blue, both found on the same day (two different holes) at Easter 1979. As a family, we made many trips to Porter's retreat and at times there would have been 100 people camped on site, some living there. I know the place very well and was there two weeks ago, scratching my chin and thinking 'Virgin ground'?
That creek goes up in the forest
That’s right. I’m considering trying it back in the state forest. Might be closer to the source and have had less attention.
keep up the good work
Cheers. I will certainly try!

Awesome. The funny thing is that my cousin has a similar story. Maybe these stories led to it being completely picked over?
