Your genuineness and sincerity to simply teach these truths to people is palpable. My heart aches, not for fame or riches, but to simply BE who I truly AM. I feel such sadness over the me I’ve never met (let alone expressed due to my own fears) but I am grateful to people like you who teach with a seemingly infinite amount of patience, understanding and compassion for the human condition. God bless you and namaste.
When I was a kid, I would sometimes ponder on the idea of "What if I wasn't born?". Thinking about that brings me to a space that is dark and quiet with me being shapeless and just being pure awareness. Then I would ask myself questions like, "What if I'm completely nothing? What if I'm never aware of the existence of this world and everything in it?". Now that I've seen this video, I now understand that I was just going back to a place before this world appeared in front of me. And I must say, I liked it there. I liked bringing myself to that place of complete nothingness, complete space and silence, and with nothing but my awareness. Thank you, GP. I'm really enjoying this journey back to myself. 😊
Wonderful. Yes it is just back to the reality of you that was there before the world appeared ("Before the world was 'I Am'" said Christ) It is also here now that the world has appeared and it will be there watching the world disappear. As Nisargadatta put it "I am that principle which witnesses the birth and dissolution of the universe.
Experience plays in front of you, no matter point of view (religious, spiritual or scientific), as you are the constant. I remember when my Guru told me this. Wonderful Vijai - Experience plays and plays free of problems or suffering. It is only our beliefs about what is being experienced creates discord. Who was your guru?
@@GPWalsh Hi GP. Thank you so much for asking. He was Janaardana Kalianandaswami. Born name, John Wagner, lived in Virginia Beach. I really loved him allot. He has some clips on youtube. It has to be so because perceptions, emotions, body sensations, beliefs, and thoughts all come and go but what is constant and never leaves is the I am in the “background” that which can’t be described -yet I know as absolute and never changing. I have always thought of myself as energy and only recently began exploring this notion of birth. The way I described it to someone recently was that I was formless and unmanifested energy and at my time of “conception” became a form and manifested energy. I love the way you put it. There was profound opening for me. Thank you.

I thought about this question since hearing Nirsagadatta asking people their experience before birth. My earliest memory is around 4-5yrs, mostly because I was almost hit by a car. I suspect even that is based on what others have told me. I have no recollection of things coming into existence. Do you have another video talking about this?
I don't have one specifically about this. I do speak of it in other videos but I don't know which ones. Memory is quite faulty so even our history has to be taken with a grain of salt. Good news is you don't need to know the specifics. You only have to deal with the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing in this moment. Divorce them from any thoughts of past or future and you become their master and you sink into the nowness of being.
I have a few questions dear reflection, nr. 1 what is the purpose of living life after finding out about the supposed illusion? 2. If let’s say the purpose is self generated, wouldn’t that in turn mean that even after The profound “awakening” that you could keep experiencing for fun, entertainment, exploration within infinity, or just joy? Or would you get send back straight into pure consciousness? 3. Of pure consciousness is really pure, then all these random insights or sensations that you mention in the early part of the video, what are they? Wouldn’t they be pollution to your sovereignty as pure consciousness? And isn’t the idea that they arise only a theory without direct evidence? 4. What are the odds that this life here is actually an active manifestation out of joy, curiosity or creativity rather than “maya” or just illusion? 5. Was the illusion of separateness between life forms always present or is it something that happened as a byproduct after humans moved out of natural symbiosis? Because when we look into nature it isn’t as separate as you would think, everything is interconnected and interdependent, holistic, and we see life forms living without the idea of egoic self or personal self-importance, like we see a lot of creatures putting their individual life on line for the rest of the herd or army. 6. What are the odds / or is there possibly that duality existed alongside non duality in ultimate reality? And that they are really just natural opposites such as black and white or masculine and feminine, which also is omnipresent in nature, and even within individual creatures such as humans having both feminine and masculine qualities, like estrogen and testosterone in divine balance, could this be a result of ultimate duality as “god” manifested or because theoretically it would make sense, if there were dual from the gitgo, it would allow for duality to intertwine and keep multiplying - the manifold of duality and manifold of diverse abundance we have in the current universe!? 7. How can we know that any form of philosophy or suggested ultimateness including non - duality as objective truth and not subjective? Because we see an abundance of thoughts, philosophies, contemplations and religions, why is non duality not one of them / or is it?

Where was “ I exist” awareness when I was 6 months old.? Maybe I was never born at all ? Maybe I’ve always been here Is there anyone out there who actually experienced being born and being a 6 month old baby?
Hi I enjoyed the video. I saw who I really a.m. and it was beautiful and whole. I didn’t see it with the body I saw it as me. So I knew that I was not a person but that I was that. When the seeing was over I said to myself I am that I am. Now I just work on thinking because there’s nothing wrong with life except the thoughts I have about it. Thank you for doing what you do because it helps to understand what happened. If you wanna give me your email I would love to correspond with you. Thank you

The body was definitely born at a certain time and certain locality. But you are not the body. This inquiry is designed to take you to a seeing that what is here right now, the awareness that is cognizant of the body, was here before that body and will exist afterwards. In other words, YOU were never born. Only a form came into existence which you subsequently began to think of as yourself.

Would I have spent my time here just as well in, yes, being a nice person, but gratifying my senses and desires, and watching comedies and feelgood movies?
Mal Ure I never said that awakening had no effect or was pointless. But what it brings is not the rewards as expected by the person we take ourselves to be. It fulfills your real desires which arise from your true nature. The entire structure of suffering, including karma and its debts is created and sustained by the belief in ourselves as a separate entity, divorced from the One Being. Far from being pointless, your attempts at goodness and love have prepared you to be exposed to and understand your true nature and this is the liberation you have been seeking.
