I just finished listening to her "I Have Nothing" 20 seconds ago. That's a fantastic rendition, speaking of a "belting sound." It was done a year ago, beginning of 2019.
I like the musical terms you use to describe Angelina's vocal skills. I just recently discovered Angelina, when I came across her singing, I PUT A SPELL ON YOU, unbelievable. I'm 77, and I love jazz. Now, I'm a big Angelina Jordan fan.

Now that is SINGING...👏👏👏 Singing is not all about the runs, the acrobatics and vocal exhibitions... It is singing the song with the best intentions for the song itself. And very few artists do that. And Angelina is one of the rarest.

Meddimehell good thing with some sobriety, I get carried away sometimes, and expectations is a part of it.. Still, after listening to all of her songs, I really can’t think of anyone better. Maybe Dimash, but as they sing different stuff in different ways, comparing becomes silly..

At age 13...such expressiveness and intensity of raw emotion! That she organizes and arranges her work is SO amazing! She's now playing guitar as well...in her cover of the Elvis early 70s smash hit "Suspicious Minds". Granted, she only strums the red electric guitar, but also, in an homage to The "King", she dons a black...ala' in his 1968 comeback TV concert...leather outfit and sports a Priscilla Presley beehive hairdo. Her kid sisters are so sweet and beautiful in the video, which showcases her naturally lowering vocal register. Amazing talent!
There's nothing accidental, but also nothing contrived about what she does in her music. She is a force!!!

Many great singers lack the artistic, emotional expression of Angelina. AND, she's only 13 yrs old. It's hard to imagine how she can equal this performance in the finals. Can't wait.

Every time I hear a new reactor to Angelina Jordan say: "I really liked that, if anyone out there knows of other performances I should watch", a huge grin suddenly creases my wrinkled old face. You have no idea how your comment section is about to blow up with links and suggestions to the more than 125 covers and originals she has on RUclips.
Every one a gem. Country, Blues, Disco, Jazz, Folk, Rock and Roll, R and B, Pop. From George Gershwin to Michael Jackson to Whitney Houston to Adele to The Mamas and Papas to Ella Fitzgerald to Amy Winehouse to Frank Sinatra, with the occasional original sprinkled in for good measure. All of them worth a listen and reaction. A lot of them better than the originals. Incredible is an understatement for this artist so here are a few things you might like to know.1st she does all her own arrangements she designed and made her out fit used in the show,it's designed around her grandmas art.She has helped raise over 20 million for child charities ,has performed by invitation fo Barak Obama,Quincy Jones and Jennifer Hudson.At 8yrs old she sang at the Nobel Peace awards and has performed for the King of Norway.Not much you might think but add in the achievement of being Norway's youngest published author and you begin to suspect she might be special,Then you here her sing and you KNOW she is a bloody genius!!!!!!Oh i forgot at 10 she was jamming at Gene Simmons mansion with the man himself,also english is her 3rd language behind Norwegian and Farsi.There's heaps more but i am old and knackered and it's nearly 1.30 am here in New Zealand so off to sleep i go.Thanks for a great reaction.

You asked for Angelina recommendations. There are about 6 years worth because she sings like this all the time. Whitney Houston, Elvis, Amy Winehouse nailed. Mamas and Papas, Lana Del Rey and like nailed. Every great Jazz singer from Billy Holiday to Ella Fitzgerald nailed. There is an acapella version of her singing "I'm a Fool to Want You" (Holiday), from very early on (2014), which you will need to hunt out the full length vocal for; a lot of folk have the spliced (inferior version )uploaded, but the full one is still on YT. Angelina is the very best vocalist there is, and has been for a long, long time.

I was 12 years old in 1964 when I first heard “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” by The Beatles. After listening to that and the flip side of the 45 RPM, “I Saw Her Standing There” hundreds of times, I literally remember feeling an electricity in the air that something was changing in our world (as much as I could at age 12). I am 68 now and, after listening to Angelina Jordan sing, I feel that same electricity once again. We know the impact that The Beatles had (and still have) on the world, and I truly feel that Angelina could be as influential as them. She is destined to be a superstar!

The unusual is to see a 13 years old girl sing that way and blow everyone's minds.
These young children are taking music back to its artistic form. That was all but lost after the seventies, when the music industry became all about a paycheck. Today kids aren't doing it for the money. They are doing it for the love of music, and that's where it began. RUclips has given them a venue to show their personal uniqueness without selling their souls to record labels. Isn't it great that young kids that are just stating out, are going old school? That's a great thing. Most of today's music sucks.

To take a beloved classic from QUEEN, and to then make it her own, is quite an accomplishment. She's done it for me. I'm all in for Angelina Jordan, and I can't wait to see her future original works.
So I grew up in a time when Queen was everything, listening to bohemian rhapsody in its original form. Getting ready for school and singing along to “I want to break free”. It was everything back then for us. So growing up I’ve heard many people mutilate this song and not really found anyone who could even come close to doing the song justice in any way. Then I heard this version by Angelina Jordan and my jaw hit the floor in a really good way. Please bare in mind that I can hold a note about as well as a bucket with no bottom can hold water!! But to hear that song done in that way was so hauntingly mesmerising that suddenly all I could hear was her voice, and that was crazy amazing. And it is the first cover of that song that also does it any justice. Liked your reaction to it as well and I’m a new subscriber, just cos I can’t sing don’t mean I can’t appreciate beautiful music!! ✌️✌️
Angelina arranges her own music. She has been singing in front of people since she was young, not that 13 is a ripe old age, but I have never seen her nervous or afraid. She has sung in front of large crowds and small gatherings and she approaches them both the same. She was invited by Quincy Jones to sing at his 85th birthday celebration. He had heard her sing, 'Fly Me To The Moon' it may have even been his arrangement. He was very taken with her. I think I read somewhere where he compared her vocal ability to Michael Jackson. That as a young artist was the best he had seen since Michael. I haven't been able to find a direct quote, but I have read a couple of times, and since I think of her that way...... Anyway I think she is very good with conveying the emotional intensity of any song she gets a hold of. She finds a way to the center of your heart and jams all that emotion into you somehow. She has a special kind of soul she sings with that I can only believe will become better with age. Anyway she sings an acappella version of, 'I'm A Fool To Want You', that has no right coming out of a 7 year old's mouth. She starts it much like this song, without a pitch-pipe or piano note to get her started. I have heard a lot of young singers, older ones too, that have trouble with a song like that. Angelina has been listening to Jazz since she was 3 years old. You will hear that influence in all she does. She has so much more stuff for you to see. Everything she has done in the last 7 years is absolutely amazing. So many styles and so many sounds.

I still remember that I was shocked in a positive way, and I have ever since that time been a fan. A fan of a child. I wouldn't believed it if you had asked me 10 years ago.
I have never been interested in the jazz music genre , but Angelina's interpretations of old jazz music classics has "opened my eyes" for that kind of music for sure, and in a way "touched me".
In the past year she has posted some great covers of modern music as well.

I never thought i would hear someone singing on an equal level as Grace Vanderwaal but Angelinas voice is so soothing and hypnotic.
No contest. Grace isn't close and lacks the multilevel nuance and purposeful emotive technique Angelina incorporates, but Grace's song writing skills are excellent.

I was one who asked you to react to Angelina lol, My recommendations are really anything she has sung. Maybe when she sung "I put a spell on you" or any of the songs she has written herself. Angelina is definitely a superstar and I am so so happy more people have heard that angelic voice and love it like I do

I really enjoyed your thoughts & comments on Angelina Jordan's version of Bohemian Rhapsody, you were spot on. I saw this little girl way back when she won Norway's got talent. She came on with her long, dark hair and barefoot, because it made me more comfortable that way. What an amazing talent she has.

What a great breakdown and analysis of this performance. I've seen and listened to quite a few people (some voice coaches) attempt to explain what this phenomenal singer is doing with this song, and (IMO) your's is the best. I learned several new things from your take on it. You have a new subscriber in me. And I think many of Angelina's fans will feel the same. Angelina is a phenomenal singer. But she is also a fantastic (re)arranger of other's songs. And then she has the unique capacity to modify her voice to fit the new arrangement. If you react to more of her covers you will see what I'm saying. Since there are well over 100 of these covers out there, I don't know the best plan for pursuing her library of performances. She does her own arranging..always has, but she tries to reflect the original version rather than later ones even though they may have received more attention. "I Put a Spell on You" is an example of this. She versioned Screamin' Jay Hawkins original, which was crazy. Enjoy!

Awesome reaction! Thank you :) Here you've just scraped the breath of Angelina's talent. She has an unique tone, texture, nuance to her voice that draws everyone in, and gets to your soul. So many songs to recommend! A million years ago, Born to Die, Shield (her own song) and others when she was competing in Norway's got talent. You won't believe she was only 7 listening her singing "Bang Bang", "Summertime", etc.
