Wow- such an honest, gritty, perfect explanation of the emotions behind what we’re hearing!! The first time I heard this (just after I had been astounded and enchanted by this little girl’s singing on America’s Got Talent, and all of Norway’s Got Talent), I thought that this was the first song I’d heard where she sounded overly dramatic and somewhat contrived in her delivery- like she was doing an imitation ( -a very good one, though!) of soul singers she’s heard. You should read into the reason why she wears no shoes. There's an amazing story behind it that's very heartwarming. I don't want to tell the whole story because I may have heard it wrong. But as I did hear it, she was little and in China. She saw a beggar that had no shoes. She was compelled to give the shoes right off of her own feet. That' not too surprising. BUT... She later wrote an illustrated book and has been selling it for years. Her mom did the drawings. Angelina put in her heart. Research it and I'm sure you'll be amazed.

You see her giving her instrumental notes to the director who stated that she was very polite as she referred to the changes as her wishes. I can just imagine the conversation among the musicians as they were leaving the studio and the talk with their family as I am sure they realized that this was historical. She was two months into her ninth year when recorded. There was no other nine year old in the world who would even know who Screaming Jay Hawkins was let alone tackle this 1956 song. She is at a level beyond reality.

I really like the background music she chooses. I like the quiet subtle guitar I do not like it when the piano drowns her out. The music in I put a spell on you is especially nice. I think she could go acapello and be just fine.

Angelina does something in the second song, but it is so subtle that it is easy to miss. When she sings the lyrics "bang bang", she puts a soft vibrato on the final syllable that makes it a thing of beauty.

She had such a deep voice even at that age and now as she's older it's beautifully deeper but still wide ranged. She's one of the best young singers I ever heard. She's such an old soul singer too. She came into this world with the ability to know how to sing and arrange it.

Her voice does not yet correspond to the dimension of this song, but her soul is totally surrendered to it. Angelina IS the boss in the room when rehearsing and there is a video of a rehearsal for Summertime which was your first viewing of her. Angelina sings the song a capella to teach the musicians then works with them on the accompaniment. IMO the best cover of Bang Bang (age 8) and she probably could have done the song justice when she fit the first lyric, I was 5 he was 6. Angelina is a true prodigy specializing in vocals. I have never seen anything like her in my 62 years. Angelina is my favorite female vocalist of all time.

Angelina does something in the second song, but it is so subtle that it is easy to miss. When she sings the lyrics "bang bang", she puts a soft vibrato on the final syllable that makes it a thing of beauty.

She had such a deep voice even at that age and now as she's older it's beautifully deeper but still wide ranged. She's one of the best young singers I ever heard. She's such an old soul singer too. She came into this world with the ability to know how to sing and arrange it.

Her voice does not yet correspond to the dimension of this song, but her soul is totally surrendered to it. Angelina was 9 years 2 months old when recording I Put a Spell On You. Lukas you got it right with the notes she was writing then reviewed by one of the musicians. Angelina IS the boss in the room when rehearsing and there is a video of a rehearsal for Summertime which was your first viewing of her. Angelina sings the song a capella to teach the musicians then works with them on the accompaniment. IMO the best cover of Bang Bang (age 8) and she probably could have done the song justice when she fit the first lyric, I was 5 he was 6. Angelina is a true prodigy specializing in vocals. I have never seen anything like her in my 62 years. Angelina is my favorite female vocalist of all time.

She never wears shoes when she performs since she met a girl when she was 6 and the girl had no shoes...Angelina took hers off and gave them to her.

And in case you are unaware, when Angelina was 6 she gave away her favorite pair of shoes to a homeless girl trying to make money who didn't have any shoes & she vowed to always perform barefoot until every child in the world has shoes. I wrote this song thinking about all the great memories I had with my grandpa and how much it hurts to lose someone. I hope this song finds a place in your heart, as it comes straight from mine.

He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. They may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion in some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. Her performance of Bang Bang" was at the Semi Final of Norway's Got Talent. In my opinion her rendition was better than that of Nancy Sinatra. Angelina has the unique ability to recognise the emotions of a song and be able to convey those self same emotions to the listener. Her total control of her performance is awe-inspiring. She had this ability from the time she stepped on to the stage at the age of 7, then she sang Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday" and has never lost it.
