Just purchased a new William Powell Sovereign 20 bore S/S which is a great handling gun. Wouldn’t shoot with anything else other than S/S as I was brought up on them and prefer them for game shooting, which is my main pursuit. I have also bought an excellent round body Arrieta sidelock 12 bore which has all of the colour hardening on the action. A very lightly used gun, nice figured stock which I was lucky to find.
Thank you David, for featuring another SxS game gun, and AyA. I've shot several AyA #2 rounded action sidelock ejectors and they are lovely guns. Another of their rounded-action models is the #4 boxlock ejector. I ordered one in 20 bore with 28" barrels and it, too, is a handsome piece with hand engraving, highly figured wood (just one notch below exhibition as standard), and all the extra features of the #1 & #2. Mine was stocked by AyA to my dimensions and weighs a mere 6 lbs. I prefer shooting walked-up birds over the points of my English setter, and that rounded-action #4 is a delight to carry for miles. Since receipt of my AyA three years ago, I've shot at least a thousand rounds at my local clays course without a single 'hiccup' from my rounded-action #4. Outstanding value for money spent, and the craftsmanship and attention to detail is impressive, indeed.
With the cost of really good English SxS's being so affordable, if I lived in the UK thats all I would be buying (though I do like Spanish, German and Austrian guns)
Side by sides & box locks have been around since the 1870's. Side locks, longer. It makes no sense paying upwards of 10k for such a simple old design. All aside, that AYA is beautiful.
You almost always refer to the height of comb when reviewing guns, but surely the right height is dependent on the physical shape of the shooter, and the fact that you need a high comb is maybe not the ideal for all?

Nice to see that you’re getting some close up shots in so we can actually see what you’re pointing to/talking about.
this is My Favourite one ♥

Nice to see a different kind of gun.
Nice video David. I have a AYA Yeoman in 12 bore. That model in 20 bore with sidelock is gorgeous. Would definitely buy at the right price.
thank you ... but you shot a lot of clay pigeon... how much you brek ??
I can tell you right away that I like the slim stock on it. I’d rather have a POW grip but I’ll settle for the straight stock.
Would be proud to own one.
Liking that hand guard. I wish I could find an AYA here in FLA
NO !
Nice gun
same me
Too much product placement. No close ups.
Be good if you didnt name drop and advertise stuff whikst talking about the gun.
Love your videos! Have you tried out the Webley & Scott Rascal, I can’t find any video or written reviews of them anywhere! 🫡
