    My favorite part is realizing that underwater, it moves and turns exactly the same way and speed as it does in the shows and movies.

    This is awesome. The Enterprise's shape makes it impossible to build a flying model without making a lot of changes but in the water is another story

    I would love to see this filmed at night with just the on-board lighting. That would be what it would really look like in deep space without any external light source.

      The way it moves in the water looks like the movement in all the star trek movies. I've seen a couple of videos of drone ships and they wobble and dip because of wind gusts.No gravity in space low gravity in water. This video could look like a space scene with decent backdrop animation.

    Very interesting. Never considered "flying" the Enterprise underwater.Looks a heck of a lot more realistic than models that fly in air.

      If you use the right high-intensity red LED's, you could get the phaser-visual effect where you see the beams cut through the water.

      Laser diodes do exist, they'd be much better than high-intensity (provided the water isn't extremely clear so you can see the beams).

    As close as you can get to zero gravity.......the ship looked very smooth and graceful in movement.....impressive

      EXACTLY ! Of course we must assume the nature fluidic space
      is just some unknown part of physics we do not understand since the presence of
      fluid in space would negate the meaning of space, which but our limited
      understanding is a near vacuum.
      We named it “fluidic space” only because objects in that
      region act within the known laws of fluid dynamics.

      But Crewman Max would survive, Kirk, Spock & McCoy would banter in the end and laugh as it ends.

    Very cool! I've done light mods but this is brilliant! The time it took to figure out the neutral buoyancy and sealing it up... Wow! Please shoot a video of this with the room lights off so we can see it in a darker environment. Thanks for sharing!

      The Enterprise's deflector is likely not capable of such a thing. Also, I doubt McCoy could produce biomolecular torpedoes.

    I could see that being used for special effects. With the proper background and high quality cameras you could pull off the illusion that it's actually flying through space. Would be cheaper and faster to produce for movies and television.

      It's a beautiful model and it looks great, but I think by the time you'd overcome all of the issues of underwater filming in a tank you'd find it would have been cheaper and easier just to render the whole thing in a computer.

      Can't you see in the video they tried and failed? They tried to produce a warp bubble but only was able to produce small bubble that moved towards the surface.

    I wish we would build a ship like the enterprise to explore strange new worlds and seek out life and new galaxies. This video makes me want to watch Star Trek. Thanks for sharing it will be on my favorites list
