Unknown fact about the GM Sniper, its not named as such because of its long-range beam rifle, but because it was a variant designed by Federation engineer Jim Sniper, and named in his honour as he never lived to see it in action.
Long ranged sniper or artillery MS are very rare but they are always deadly and destructive. On the other hand, I find it a real poetic justice that the GM Sniper has a real big particle beam coming out of its rifle and yet it was taken out by a small beam.
I mean when the MS pilot approaching it on the front side where the Apsalus III's weapon is in order to shoot the Ez 8 then its just a case of the pilot being a fucking retarded smoothbrain. I really don't understand why they didn't order the GM Sniper to keep shooting the Apsalus III because if they wanted the Ez8 destroyed with the MC in it then the resulting explosion of the mobile armor would do it.
I absolutely love the sound of this mobile suit's rifle. It just has such oomph to it. So unique amongst all the other main weapons of other mass produced suits.
Sniping aside, I love the colour scheme for the ground type GM, makes it fit Into the whole jungle environment so much better. I hope bandai one day makes 2.0 of the mg ground type Gundam and GM, ground type GM I feel is highly underrated

Actually, atleast 3 of the units are seen being serviced in a hanger at the Kojima base in episode 2 when Karen was driving Shiro around. Its a very short blink and youll miss it moment. I hazard a guess that almost nobody saw that easter egg coz I only found out about in my recent rewatch of 08MST.

The GM sniper in 8th MS team had to of died a very painful brutal death with that beam being just strong enough to blast through a very narrow point in the top of the cockpit that based on location appears would of gone through the monitor and fried off the pilots legs and arms with the visor of his helmet melted into whatever would of been any sense of a face resulting in massive pain till he died from the shock.
The ship it shot down was a medical transport the federation had just sworn it would not attack. Which makes shooting it down a war crime. The CO who gave the order even gets court martialed.

Please note that the BLASH XBR-X-79YK Long-Range Beam Rifle only has 2 shots per one minute of charge and the pilot shot at the main body with his first shot. His second shot was at the support leg along with what seems to be a fuel tank and this brought down the Apsalus III. Let me say again if you didn't catch it the first time THE GM SNIPER DOUBLE-TAPPED! It wasn't the pilot's fault that he didn't hit anything that would permanently disable the Apsalus III- its more or less a hundred f-----g meters wide and unless you had intimate knowledge of how it was built (which I f----g doubt any one here knows since it just got finished around this time) YOU HAVE TO BE EXTREMELY F-----G LUCKY KILLING SOMETHING LIKE THAT THE FIRST TIME YOU SEE IT. The pilot assumed he had a good kill with that double-tap and had no reason to assume otherwise so he shifted his attention to the Ez-8. The Aspsalus III only began seriously moving again after he had already shot the Ez-8. Also note that on an MS while sniping it is very easy to get tunnel vision considering the standard long range targeting system in the cockpit

They feature mechanical failures, combat limitations, realistic damage and other military tactics. Other series in the UC are like Dragonball with mecha *cough* Unicorn *cough* well it's entertaining though but I prefer the 08th MS Team for being "Organic"
The only thing out of the ordinary here is Shiro's plot armor. Remember that time he dodged a bullet from a Zaku's machine gun? If not for that and similar circumstances with Shiro, I have nothing to say.
Why can't this MS be this useful in GBO2? The rifle overheats way to quickly, doesn't have the sustained shot and he's slow af. One thing though is it has a unique backpack for some reason while in the anime, and therefore the HGUC kit; it just has the GM Ground Type's backpack. The MG comes with the special backpack AND the generator. Too bad the HGUS was just a recolour with a recycled Beam Sniper Rifle from the Gundam Ground War Set.
@@rico4376 I know it's a Support, i've been playing since January 2019. I was just saying i wish it was better. The rifle overheats too easily, doesn't charge or pierce and you can't do sustained shots like as shown in this video. The GM Sniper being crap is probably due to its low cost along with it being one of the earliest MS in the game. (It was available from launch in Summer 2018 iirc) I doubt BB Studios would ever release a GM Sniper [Enhanced] which does have piercing/sustained shots/better heat rate and maybe has the outboard generator strapped to its back.
Well it is a 200 to 300 cost support unit and had the single longest ranged attack at 200 cost with nothing to challenge its beam rifle's reach. It also does massive damage, all of 3000 to 4000 per shot from across the map with my set up. I find it works best as a Support to a Support. GM Cannon with GM Sniper is devsstating to low cost, where beam resistances are low, and you have to decide who is the real threat. The high damage sniper or the Cannon unit that is racking up DPS and setting you up for the sniper, take your pick. It feels great to me!
When will we have Another Gundam series like this. A 50+ Episode of this kind of Slow paced action. Where Mobile Suits actually feel like these Tons and tons of weight with lumbering movements. When will we get another Gundam that Grunts like Zakus and Snipers could take them down with false moves.

@@fishpop - 08th MS was never gritty and realistic. All we got was 12 episodes of Zaku bullying, and the main characters being nearly invincible. Thunderbolt does a better job of jungle warfare.
It must really suck being that guy. Choosing to shoot the gundam down mid-action only to absolutely regret it for a long moment when he realized it was inches from finishing off that Zeon prototype that posed a real threat.

I thought it was both The Fed commander wanted to capture the mobile armor while killing Shiro Only in their stupidity, the feds, ignored the fact Shinto’s team reported the damn thing FLYS from their previous encounter so it got back up killed the sniper and nearly wiped out the remaining forces nearby before Shiro sacrificed the Ez8 to finish it off
So basically unlike Amuro he won Actually thinking on it, he pretty much is the most successful if the UC Gundam pilots The rest either died long term or suffered severely with MAYBE a love interest come the end
Honestly, with how much more effective the GM Snipers were compared to the Mass Production Guntanks, I wouldn't be surprised if they were the Federation's main plan all along, while the Guntanks were unknowingly sent out as diversions. The ease at which they both destroyed the Zanzibar class cruiser and crippled the Apsalus III makes it seem like Norris Packard's assault on the Guntanks and the 08th MS team was ultimately pointless.
This bad mofo should've been used in the later wars against AEUG and Neo-Zeon. I can just imagine a few of these in Jaburo or Kilimanjaro blowing up AEUG mobile suits trying to land. It could've ended Kamille or Char before they became a big threat to the EFSF or the Titans.

I don't think the Japanese fully understood what "sniper" ment because the GM Sniper is used for more than sniping. It's a general special forces unit.

I love 08TH MS Team. I still don't like beam snipers. I mean they're powerful but once you fire, they know your exact location but if you fire shells, it's harder to track.

That giant mobile armor got hit twice and it looked dead so I'm going to go with that the pilot thought that with two operational legs and a hit to the body, it was dead

目玉武装でもあるロングレンジBRは有線による外部からのエネルギー供給により高い射程と威力を発揮できる試作品であるが、見ての通り冷却が必須であり、冷却剤の数=照射時間と言ってもいいほど常に冷却剤を使わなければならない。
また追加のエネルギー供給装置と冷媒を兼ねた専用のバックパックを装備することにより、照射時間は下がるなどの弱点があるが単独行動も可能である。

それで今動けるEz-8を優先的に狙ったのかも

アプサラス撃墜の手柄欲しさと脱走兵の処罰を優先した結果は、ご存知の通りです。
スパイ疑惑のシローとアプサラスの接触を危険と判断したか、近距離のEz-8を撃破して核融合炉の誘爆によって両方の撃破を狙ったか…かなぁ
既に無力化した(と思われていた)アプサラスⅢをスパイ容疑のシローが急いで破壊しようとする様子がジオン側の機密保持に見えてた可能性もあるのではないかと思います、アプサラスⅡの時にアイナが自爆させてましたし

The feds want to capture apsalus intact hence why they only try to disable it. They shot ez8 to prevent it from destroying apsalus

他の方も仰っているように赤十字マークも施さずMSも搭載しているので、現実のジュネーブ条約では病院船の扱いはされません。撃ち落としてもなんら問題ない行為です。

Vanilla GM Sniper is crap. You're better off with either GM Sniper 2 or a Guncannon.
Well it is a 200 to 300 cost support unit and had the single longest ranged attack at 200 cost with nothing to challenge its beam rifle's reach. It also does massive damage, all of 3000 to 4000 per shot from across the map with my set up.
I find it works best as a Support to a Support. GM Cannon with GM Sniper is devsstating to low cost, where beam resistances are low, and you have to decide who is the real threat. The high damage sniper or the Cannon unit that is racking up DPS and setting you up for the sniper, take your pick. It feels great to me!

だね、原子爆弾すら、ピコ何秒のラインで制御した爆縮レンズ（要は制御された爆薬によるプルトニウム原子の圧縮）使ってようやっと核分裂させる。まして核融合炉では損傷、即機能喪失で爆発なんかしない。核爆弾の隣で火を焚こうが、爆弾炸裂させようが、燃えるだけで核爆発は起きてくれない。そんな簡単に核分裂起きてたらオッペンハイマーはあんなに苦労していない。ましてより難易度の高い核融合では。
本部にあれだけスナイパーいたなら四方から攻めた方が良かった説

When will we have Another Gundam series like this. A 50+ Episode of this kind of Slow paced action. Where Mobile Suits actually feel like these Tons and tons of weight with lumbering movements. When will we get another Gundam that Grunts like Zakus and Snipers could take them down with false moves.

@@fishpop - 08th MS was never gritty and realistic. All we got was 12 episodes of Zaku bullying, and the main characters being nearly invincible. Thunderbolt does a better job of jungle warfare.

@@quocbaole1251 No, it's because the pilot was under orders to execute Shiro and it's most likely the GM Sniper didn't figure out the Apsalus was still working.
If I remember right, Shiro was suspected of being a traitor/spy.

Only in their stupidity, the feds, ignored the fact Shinto’s team reported the damn thing FLYS from their previous encounter so it got back up killed the sniper and nearly wiped out the remaining forces nearby before Shiro sacrificed the Ez8 to finish it off

Honestly, with how much more effective the GM Snipers were compared to the Mass Production Guntanks, I wouldn't be surprised if they were the Federation's main plan all along, while the Guntanks were unknowingly sent out as diversions. The ease at which they both destroyed the Zanzibar class cruiser and crippled the Apsalus III makes it seem like Norris Packard's assault on the Guntanks and the 08th MS team was ultimately pointless.

This bad mofo should've been used in the later wars against AEUG and Neo-Zeon. I can just imagine a few of these in Jaburo or Kilimanjaro blowing up AEUG mobile suits trying to land. It could've ended Kamille or Char before they became a big threat to the EFSF or the Titans.
As thinking the same why did they not use it later in a long range/ orbital defense role?

The thing in Gundam universe, the laser weapon is the weakest compare to The Beam weapon, it BARELY scratches The armor LIke Zaku and GM

I don't think the Japanese fully understood what "sniper" ment because the GM Sniper is used for more than sniping. It's a general special forces unit.
I'm pretty sure they did the typical Japanese thing and used an English word because they think it sounds cool.

I love 08TH MS Team. I still don't like beam snipers. I mean they're powerful but once you fire, they know your exact location but if you fire shells, it's harder to track.

That gm should of did the finishing blow on the mobile armor instead of taking a potshots at the ez8.
It was ordered by high command to do that as shiro had deserted at that point, and I don't think you say no to the higher brass just like that

@@JTruong3rd well, they where informed that Shirl had deserted and taken the ez 8 along with him, so the order was given to take him, the pilot must have thought that he could take down shirt and the mobile armour if he took the chance
That giant mobile armor got hit twice and it looked dead so I'm going to go with that the pilot thought that with two operational legs and a hit to the body, it was dead
