    This is an amazing walk through of not only TonStack PRO, but an in depth look at audio, gain, effects and live use using AUM. The time spent on Outpuit limiting, ALONE (~30:00) is mind boggling. There is also some examples of using AUM which further adds to the value. Also snagged an Eventide bundle (w/ CrushStation and MicroPitch), FAC Chorus and DerVoco. This is such goood information. Hoping more input will give this a bump with the Algorithm Gods. Thank You again (and for the kick to get comfortable with AUM and A.B.Y dual chain functionality in TSPro) for the effort you put into this. I am very grateful! Best Regards and Best Wishes!

    Right now this is way better than either BIAS FX 2 or TH-U mobile, not for the tone because it's not, even though the ToneStack tones are sufficiently good for use, but just for the fact that Yonac let's us both assign any parameter to any MIDI controller be it same or different number, and set min/max value ranges on parameters that are variable as opposed to binary. This is much more usable and valuable to me than scenes/snapshots, and BIAS FX 2 while letting you assign parameters to the same controller doesn't let you set min/max value ranges while TH-U doesn't let you assign multiple parameters to the same controller and at most let's you import presets from the desktop version where min/max value ranges are set and yet don't let you set them on the mobile version. The only thing I can wish for from ToneStack is allowing for binary parameters to be assigned to controllers in inverted states.

    • @joesalyers
      @joesalyers  2 года назад

      Yep, Tonestack has the best midi controller implementation of any iPadOS guitar APP, I think that comes from Yonac making so many synths. Thanks for watching!!

    I use it as a post stack after my VTM999 and MetalMuff in the loop of my noisegate into my pre-amp of two-notes Le Crunch. After that it goes into my Xsonic Xtone Duo. Monster sound with the Yonac stack.

      @@joesalyers Need to thank you again. Finally knuckled down and figured out my chain issues and why mine sounded like garbage. Still too hot. Used your example and loaded all the amps up with the effects I use and worked gain until I had no noise but was getting the sound I wanted. It's beefy loud yet quiet. Amazingly clean and clear. Been playing out since 1990 and never got into gain staging...that was always our sound guy's side. Now I know I could have sounded better all this time :( Ah well...live and learn. Thank You again sincerely. Very Much appreciate the effort it took/takes to make these videos. Best Regards and Best Wishes!

      @@hanovergreen4091 If you ever need some help feel free to drop it in a comment on one of these videos and I'll do everything I can to help you figure it out and get you exactly what you want out of a ipad/computer guitar rig. Also I'll be honest I have used almost ever iPad/Computer guitar app out there and I really only use Amplitube to be completly honest. I have used Amplitube for about 10 years now as my only live guitar rig for live shows. I own several amps and the only emulations that sound like the My Mesa, Dual Rec, Jet City, and AC 30 are from Amplitube. All of the other apps are ok, but don't have the realism that Amplitube has in my opinion. So you might want to try Amplitube out and see if that is more of the feel you want from a amp sim. Cheers, have a great day!

    Sorry I’m new. Running a MOTU M2 into an iPad Pro 11 via the USB C port. But I get no audio output from it at all. There’s the headphone Jack on the MOTU but that’s just the clean tone. What else do I need to be doing? Thanks for the help.

    • @joesalyers
      @joesalyers  Год назад +1

      In the settings you need to choose the right input and output depending on the app you are using. Also you might need an adapter to allow you to plug the power in to the ipad as well so look for a dual USBc dongle so you can plug both the power and the motu into the ipad at the same time. Hope this helps, thanks for watching.

    • @rickwarner7729
      @rickwarner7729 Год назад +1

      @@joesalyers It’s ToneStack Pro v 1.0. Input is Ch 1 (mono) and output is Chs 1/2. Doesn’t give me any other options to choose from. I’ve tried the headphone Jack and both monitor outs on the MOTU and its just clean guitar everywhere regardless of what I change in the app. Mute output is on as a default and when I turn the mute off I get feedback from the iPad speakers, but still nothing from the audio interface. Freakin confused.

    • @joesalyers
      @joesalyers  Год назад +1

      @@rickwarner7729 You have to get a dongle to power the interface the iPad won't power it alone. So a USB-c cable from the ipad to the motu is NOT going to work. You need a adapter that can power your ipad and the Motu both. On Motu's website it says it requires a powered usb hub. Which means the usb hub needs to be plugged into the wall. Also the Motu interfaces use a control app and I would guess that you are monitoring the input. Go over to Motu's website and get the manual and read on how to use the M2's internal mixer. You may have grab the Motu control app from the app store to to get it all working. I don't have that interface so I can't really tell you exactly how to do it. But you can find out why you are only monitoring the inputs, you want to listen to the app/DAW outputs. This is a common mistake some people make with interfaces that have built in mixer applications. I think the app is called Motu CueMix5. If you need anymore help just ask and I'll do my best to help you get it up and running. Cheers!

    Hey man hope you are well. I have a question…How does your normal live set up look like? I looked into getting a blue board. I have a Scarlett interface but what do you use as a sound output since you don’t carry amps with you to live gigs. Thanks :)

    • @joesalyers
      @joesalyers  Год назад +2

      I mainly use Amplitube as my Amp the outputs of my audio interface go right to the mixing console. Since Amplitube has speaker emulations as well I don't have a need for a speaker cabinet. We also use in ear monitors on stage. Unless its a show where we have to use floor monitors in that case I have them give me my guitar in the monitor or I just take my own powered floor monitor with me and I give the outputs of my audio interface to the sound guy and then I send the headphone output to the powered floor monitor as my on stage cabinet. Its super simple. If you use the Scarlett 2i2 you would send the main 1&2 outputs to the mixer, and if you have to have an on stage speaker then a cheap powered floor monitor will be a better budget option than those cabinets made for amp sims like the ones from Line6 that cost 5 times more than a floor monitor and are literally nothing more than a powered stage wedge. Do not buy those they are a rip off. Get something like the one I have it is "Behringer Eurolive F1220D 250W 12 Inch Powered Speaker" and it is louder and more clear than the headrush or the line6 flat response cabinets. If you need more help just let me know I can try to explain it further for you. I also have videos about my live setup as well on my channel! It is pretty simple to do as long as you take the time to test it all out for your setup. Thanks for watching Cheers!!!
