      For real.
      Modern washers suck ass. I buy old school machines that I rebuild. They always last longer and do a much better job in a quicker time. Sure we waste more water but I don’t care about that. I will pay my water bill. I need clean clothes plain and simple.
      My old school kenmore has already outlasted our new bullshit. Old kenmore I bought to wash rags from my plumbing business, it’s in a garage with water and drain. It has outlasted the new one that we use inside by 5 years.
      Going to either get a speed queen, or buy another used machine to rebuild it. I will install it inside my house. Old school (in this scenario) just works. Ain’t broke don’t fix it. My friggin og machine washes hella dirty rags thay sometimes have junk, wax or bolts. It doesn’t give a shit. It just chugs along.

    I've had my TC5 and DC5 for about a month now and absolutely love them. I had LG's for just over 10 years and they were completely trouble free. The biggest difference I've noticed is that I no longer use fabric softener because the TC5 seems to get the clothes cleaner and makes them softer. I'm still using the same detergents but have found that I use quite a bit less now because of the agitation.
    The LG used less water in it's "auto" settings but I found myself constantly hitting the "water plus" option or running the "bulky/bedding" cycle just to get more water in the tub for a better clean due to more laundry turnover. Now with the TC5 and the deep fill option, I believe I'm getting an optimal clean in much less time. The LG would run for near 1.5 hours on a heavy duty cycle and the SQ does it in just over 30 minutes with cleaner results.
    Overall, I am very pleased and looked forward to many trouble-free years of performance.

    The best washer next to a speed queen is the whirlpool 4816 and I say that from experience because I had two speed queen washers in my life and granted they were good machines but nowadays the price to get them is a little out of my budget where the whirlpool 4816 was less than 600 and when we bought the electric dryer that matches it the total price was only 750 because we bought both of them together so that was a win win with me and my mom

    I find it amazing how these cycles are roughly 30 mins long for a heavy duty cycle (unless I’m wrong 😅) yet in the uk that’s classed as a quick wash and our heavy duty/heavy soil wash can take easily 2 hours plus.
    My normal cycle is 1h59 mins. But our cycle lengths increased when they stopped really producing hot and cold water fill. They are mostly now cold water fill and the machine heats the water to what temp is selected. Then to not waste the electric used to heat the water it allows the water to sit in the machine for some time to get the use out of the heated water instead of heat and then drain straight away

      I would argue that the best front loaders of European standard wash and rinse better than most top loaders. That said, the European machines almost always take in cold water and heat it up to desired temperature as it turns the load. It takes at least 30 minute to get to the warmer temperatures, longer for the hotter.
      The US standard machines I have used take in warm water and start at the desired temperature from the go; then the agitator beats back and forth for 10-18 minutes and do one or two rinses. It sometimes leaves you more dependent on pretreating stains, but the classic Maytags and Speed Queens clean a full load of dirty laundry like no other machine in less than 30 minutes. It was common to manipulate the wash cycle and double the wash time and add and extra rinse if needed, but still could be done in 45 minutes. The setting knobs could be turned to start again with out loosing the warm soapy water.

    My LG top load takes an hour and 47 minutes for a heavy duty cycle so this is awesome. I've had the set about 12 years and it's only needed two repairs. Once was a broken part and the second time was build up of some sediment from our very hard water. Both times, my husband was able to repair it easily. So I really don't have any complaints other than its cleaning ability. He's an electrician and his clothes get FILTHY. Sometimes I have to wash his work pants on heavy duty twice just to get them to smell mostly clean. I will be getting a speed queen as soon as possible.

      @@omarpimentel1047the TR7 does fine for most loads, I always use the “heavy duty” cycle which does a regular fill rinse . Eco cycles don’t. You def can’t overload it and expect good results.. whereas the TC5 is aggressive. It can be stuffed full and still agitate well. It’s better for really dirty clothes like what I use for my diesel engine repairs on my vintage busses.. the TR7 can’t get the super dirty loads like that clean without a really long cycle . For my every day clothes it has no issues, is quiet and the speed wash cycle is 30 minutes.

    I see only one difference in the wash cycle of this machine and my 2017 8 series machine and that is a lack of a spray rinse in the first spin cycle. Based on the amount of suds that showed up in the rinse agitation I can say that not having it makes a big difference. That said I'd buy one of these over a TR series machine every day of the week. The only thing I'd do is be a lot more apt to run a second rinse if the detergent I used was very sudsy.

    • @isaac24
      @isaac24  Год назад +2

      Oh yeah, a TR series is junk. I wouldn't buy one if someone paid me to. Another reason for the suds could be that I use a lot of detergent. I don't know why, but on pretty much any other detergent than Persil, I've found that using the "recommended" amount usually doesn't work as well for an older style washer. I also like having detergent smell on my clothes. I know that the Maytag did that as well with the sudsy rinse. I've actually never used the 2nd rinse option yet, probably will have to make more videos with that option.

    I see that when the wash cycle stops, the drum doesn't drain the water first....then the spin cycle. This machine spins and drains at the same time. Well...with the lid open, there was no splashing. My old Whirlpool washer had the drum empty first, then spin.

    • @isaac24

      The drum draining thing is a Whirlpool thing. GE, Maytag, Speed Queen, and pretty much all of the other big manufacturers (used to) all use a spin drain.

    • @isaac24
      @isaac24  4 месяца назад

      It's expensive, but worth it. If you're on the fence about it, just do it. We've had it since the middle of 2022, and it has not had a single issue. I will say, sometimes when it's on the spin cycle, it will squeak randomly, although it doesn't really get off balance. I've been very happy with the amount of energy / water that it uses. It will use a full tub of water if you set it correctly, so that's a big plus, as well as using straight hot water if you ask for it. I will say a common issue that others have seemed to have, is that if you drain into a wall drain, instead of a slop sink, I tend to notice some foaming at the end of the drain hose, but it doesn't affect usability. If you have a slop sink, this won't be an issue.
      But all in all, it's been absolutely worth it, and I would recommend it to anyone. Just make sure you get this model, and not the TR series, it will be a drastic ownership difference. The TR is basically a high-efficiency machine, like your lg, but with a speed Queen name. It's trash.

    Now... I know they are junk. But I just like them. It has all the fun options. This only has 6 cycles. An LG has like 16 which is insane. In terms of wash performance, this doesn't really do much. I also don't like the fact that it uses SO MUCH WATER! Ugh! Waste of water. An LG uses 6 motion and uses less water which I think is really nice. Cleaning performance is definitely better than this. Added steam is even better! I just don't like these. They are also loud. They should really think about getting a DC pump.

      So you would advocate for the purchase of a machine based on the number of cycles available, and then state they are junk. Mine has tons of cycles and guess what....I, like most people, actually use about 3 of them. My last washer was frontload and when the bearings wore out due to it generally being a poor design, replacing the entire drum assembly was the only way to go because you cant buy just the worn out bearings, it's all one piece. Cost almost as much as the machine did in the first place so it got replaced. Current washer is an LG and it is indeed junk, constant issues. Throws unbalanced codes constantly, even on the tiniest of loads, so i have to do more smaller loads and it refills with water over and over trying to balance it enough to finish a spin cycle. It will do that repeatedly until I go rearrange the clothes and put it on spin only and then likely to do it again anyway so amount of water used is way more. Replaced several parts that had no impact on this and the next step is pretty much a new machine.....again. That's 2 machines in the landfill in 7 years, talk about wasteful. As far a top loaders being boring af with no fun options......... It's a clothes washer, it has one job and entertainment isn't it, I want to set it and walk away, which I can't do now as I have to babysit it to make sure it actually works. So yeah, I guess you're right, it's not boring.
