What if "To Zanarkand" was in Final Fantasy XVI? (Remix)

This arrangement is a combination of a handful of FF10 and FF16 tracks. It started out as an arrangement of "To Zanarkand" following the formula and sonic signature of "Forevermore", but I ended up featuring some other prominent melodies from FFX, as well as some orchestration ideas from another FF16 track.
The formula still follows Forevermore closely - somber opening, slow buildup into the oboe solo, a small reprise before the trumpet solo, and then building up to the outro chords and the unresolved tension. Hope you like it
Original compositions by Nobuo Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu, Masayoshi Soken
Arranged by Sipi Ovaska in the style of Final Fantasy XVI soundtrack
Melodies and arrangement inspiration:
- To Zanarkand ( ザナルカンドにて ) [Nobuo Uematsu]
- A Fleeting Dream ( いつか終わる夢 ) [Nobuo Uematsu; Masashi Hamauzu]
- Hymn of the Fayth ( 祈りの歌 ) [Nobuo Uematsu; Masashi Hamauzu]
- Forevermore - The Grand Duchy of Rosaria [Masayoshi Soken; Saya Yasaki]
- Lovely, Dark, and Deep - The Greatwood [Masayoshi Soken; Daiki Ishikawa]
Final Fantasy 10 is my favourite 🎶
"Forevermore" is arranged by Saya Yasaki and "Lovely, Dark, and Deep" is arranged by Daiki Ishikawa, so I feel it's tricky to say it's in the style of Soken
Both tracks list Soken's name first as the composer (and in some sources, the only name), and sadly it's impossible to know how much each artist contributed to each track in such cases. Thanks for comment, I'll be sure to add their names on the track listing.
Loved the Forevermore bit at the end 👌 😊
Once again, you have given a different yet beautiful vibe to the track!
Marvelous! ✨✨✨✨
These keep getting better and better!
Beautiful!
Apocalypsis Noctis Shimomura VS Soken PLS!
Great idea! I'll see if I get some cool ideas for that track. Currently testing waters on some FF8 x FF16 ;)
I hadn't played a FF since XIII and these little FF XVI style songs is really getting me to think about trying XVI.
Go on ! He s not perfect, but sooo much worth it
It’s a great game and the soundtrack is top notch.
Honestly, just don't expect to play a FF and you are good. Think it as some kind of devil may cry (mid) spin off.
@@maximestanton1497 I found it boring to be honest, although it had its epic moments. I feel like they tried to make a generic fantasy game instead of experimenting with new stuff like they did in XV. I am going to give it a new try, hopefully I will enjoy it more this time
Give XV a go! It’s very flawed yet I spent 100 hours in it and recall the characters and music fondly and regularly.
It's a bit jarring, to be honest. The instruments chosen just didn't jell well together from the middle towards the end.
I feel like XVI is gonna be one of those cult classics that slowly gets more respect as the years go by.
Doubt it will be. There hasn't been cult classic since FFX in the series
@@Jinny-Wa could argue that ffxii is a very well beloved classic at this point, by a lot of people. That got a lot more respect over the years, even better after the The Zodiac Age rework.
But classics need time usually to become such. So, kind of a weird statement to make.
Nah
Absolutely!
@@Jinny-WaWrong, especially XII is a loved masterpiece. Noone cares about the fake fans who only want turn-based combat and romance, they can't take changes.
