At 40:15 you can just barely hear someone singing along with the line "Who's there" and it's just so sweet and earnest, like when the need comes over you to sing along with Joanna there's no way to suppress it. Love this whole performance! Thank you for sharing.
Like the first light of dawn, this music opens your eyes to new promises and to all the wonders of nature. Evocative of powers beyond observation, these pieces pull the strings of the heart, attract nostalgia and awaken the loves, the skinned lives and torpor of the sleeping watchmen
+Donovan Littler Yes, my favorite on an album of so many great songs. When she came out with just the drummer for the encore I really hoped for this song and it was. Sorry it's fuzzy, had to refocus and all this video was done surreptitiously.
Thank you so much for this she no longer tours these songs at least not currently and I am so happy I get to experience them almost live anyway 😍😍😍😍😍 thank you
Oh, Joanna, when can I possibly see you at the concert? Does Seoul sound like kind of a far-fetched place to throw your heavenly concert? ㅠ.ㅠ God Bless you, vinylbob for sharing this By the way, the second song's title missed "In". :)
My camera shut off at this point, because it had a 12 minute limit that I didn't understand. So I spliced in the end of the song from the concert the night before. There is a link at the bottom of the song list to show you where to go for that concert, which was as amazing as this one.
***** She played here in 2006 for the Y's tour, which I missed, finding about her soon after that. It's the one church in Philadelphia that staged concerts, through R5. Sound is great there.
How did this trombonist pass the audition to get into this band? Everything is magical and then that solo in Good Intentions Paving Co. makes my ears cry.
I haven’t gotten to the solo yet so I don’t know how he did in this performance, but his GIPC performance in the Austin City Limits recording is superrrrb :)
Wish I had even half the brains to write and perform what this woman does. She's undeniably one of the most talented musicians of our generation.
I respect this comment combined with the Jeff Mangum profile pic 👏
In many generations
Don't be so down on yourself Jeff, you did make two of the best albums of all time..
The idea that this was ten years ago is so hard to cope with

She's a true musical genius. Never seen anything like her.
i love how she keeps looking at the other musicians just to check in with them

Just had a picture in my mind of a young Joanna Newsom, trying to get to a music lesson with that harp on her back. Ha.
42:06
йоууу, Красиво :)
What happens at 49:40??? Did she, magically, get changed in the middle of the concert?

Ah, okay, then! hahah!
What beautiful sound in this church, I wonder if that's the reason she chose this location to play?

Guy at 0:01, that's a bad 'wooo'.
Would be loads better if the fellah filming it wasn't wheezing into the camara that 'Easy' onwards.
