Hi , some nice boats from Finland. Other nice boats from Scaninavia , Sweden : Qarken and Nimbus. Norway : Saga , NB , Viknes , Viksund . Like your videos. Greetings from boater in Norway .
Glad you enjoyed the boat tours. It’s really interesting to see the variety of boat designs. We would love to visit Norway one day! Thanks so much for watching😎
I like that Sea Piper, it looks like the perfect trawler for the Baltic sea. As a finn I`m glad that Targa finally starts to "go America", their boats are the real deal and you can go out almost regardless of the weather. Rugged and very solidly built they are the right choice for almost every conditions and they also age well. Interesting video.
great and timely video .. thanks ... I've been fascinated by the Finland boats, particularly the Targas ... walkaround decks, speed when you need it, fuel economy .. seems ideal for solo loopers : ) .. I've talked to one of the US dealers ..but have not seen one in person ..(yet) ... interested in your thoughts on 1) serviceability of these boats (targa / sargo) given their overseas origin , the systems, minimal dealer support, etc .. and 2) suitability of these boats for the loop ... seems ok on paper, but you've done the loop, and seen these boats .... all the best to you two as always, nagui
Hi Nagui! Targa and Sargo would be good choices for the Great Loop. The smaller models make good use of space but may have limited head room in the berths (like in the Targa 30) so if you’re living on it for any length of time you might opt for a larger vessel (33’ and up). But they are robust and well designed. The Targas we saw had Volvo Penta so getting engine parts would be standard. Targa boats have been introduced by Cardinal Yacht Sales in Washington State and more recently by East Coast Yacht Sales in Maine. You’d want to check with them how service is offered from out of state. Maybe a Targa for your next loop? Thanks for watching😎
Fyi the Seapiper was orriginally designed and molds bui!t in so-cal but the molds were sent to China for production. 10-15 were produced then. Production returned to the us with minor deck changes built to based on experience with first production run. Boat is reminesnt of the wood pendcott boats bui!t in 60' &70's that also had the center cotpit. Some of the owners of the first boats have found ways to get shade over the cotpit. Vital in anywhere but pnw. Interesting design but 10' beam is trailable as a simp!e wide load and would enhance the living space. They missed a trick there. Cheers warren
The SeaPiper is an interesting vessel and we appreciate you sharing your info. It’s refreshing to see the influence of European designers. Thanks so much for watching!😎
That’s a good question! There are many rules governing the importation of boats, both in the USA and Canada. If you deal with a boat dealer directly, they may include the import & duty fees in their price. There would also be sales tax based on your jurisdiction. From what we understand, VAT (Value Added Tax) is a tax applicable to boats purchased (or imported) and used in the EU. Certainly before making the purchase of an imported boat in any country, it would be best to understand the rules where you live and learn all the fees as they relate to importation, duty and sales tax. Thanks for watching!😎

I wonder if you have to pay the VAT on these. Really like the Targas.
