Cavil is great but I feel hes been stealing the spotlight from Jasiker and Tissaia's characters who were also brilliantly acted.

As he's leaving my interest in the show leaves too. Would have wanted to see season 4 but too much abomination (Homosexuality) for me to continue.
Was rooting for rakovid to die though, hope they kill him off in season 4 even though I'm not watching

That episode is actually my favourite one in Season 3 cuz it is being the most faithful part of adaptation to the books. Other epiosdes are full of plot holes and illogical twists if you look closely.
The saddest part is that it was just as bad in the book. Like the last two seasons theyve been deviating from the source material when they feel like it, but the one time they decide to do an episode pretty much entirely faithfully its arguably the worst chapter in the book series.

Quick edit, you kind of forgot that Yennefer was also looking for Siri without succes, and that she healed Geralt in scenes that all felt rushed and out of place.
Still haven't seen a single episode, and your recaps keep me from not only NOT being absolutely lost, can make small talk when my friends start talking about it. 😂😂😂

Henry is leaving and so am I. He was the only reason I was watching this mid show anyways, and he was barely in it. So im out.
So they took part of book 3 and 4 and made a season with it. It look closer to the source material than season 2 was, but I guess that for many people, finding that Ciri is the true hero of the story is hard (or maybe non possible). If you think Ciri centered episodes where too much, it's only get worse after (unless the show deviate again from the book, but I will not see it, I don't want to see anymore Netflix's Witcher after season 2).
Pretty sure you reading comprehension isn't very good based of this statement. This show hasn't been good or close to anything witcher since season 1

The Harry Potter references were pure gold
We all thought Netflix would give Geralt (Henry) one hell of a fight that would ruin his face and would eventually heal because of magick but Geralt's face is already changed to Liam. But No, it's a Game of Thrones character actor exchange, no explanation for why it changes, just accept the changes and move on.
Who would have thought that The Witcher would go down hill with Henry Cavill only being "occasionally still in the show" 😂
To be fair, probably everyone who has read the books.

Oh god, his recap of the last few episodes of Blacklist would be legendary. What an incredibly awful ending, I just couldn't believe the writers gave up like that.

I never played the games but there is a reason they did so good. I have never understood why someone would make a show based on a series they don't like or care to understand (Game of Thrones and The Witcher rip). I honestly did not think the series was that bad but I know it could have been so much better. Justice for the cast.
Thank you for doing this so I don't have to watch season 3. I support Cavil but not the show and my god was the beginning of season 3 a bore. Didn't even make it past Episode 3

I am impressed on how far the show is able to fuck up the surce material so much that whole caracter arcs are different and alot of caracters are just different from the books and the original visions of the author.
So how different is this season from the book?

This series will never be the same without Henry Cavil. I already wasn't the biggest fan of season 3 but I'm pretty fearful for season 4.
Hopefully the story will be able to carry the series further but I'm not all to sure about that.

Great recap as always! Good grief I had no idea the S3 was even on yet and there's no reason to watch iy after this. I highly recommend people to read or listen the Witcher books. I feel like an old person by saying this but the books are so much better than the show.

Shows should be shorter and more intentional. Good stories have a beginning, middle and end, not a beginning middle, middle, middle, middle, middle, middle, middle, middle, middle, middle, and end. That being said, artistic mismanagement certainly seems to have been the bigger problem here. Cavill was a squandered gift.
@@caret_shell I absolutely agree with artistic mismanagement being the biggest problem here and that the waste of Cavil is an absolute tragedy! But I disagree with your conclusion about the length of shows in general. When adapting high fantasy epics like the witcher it is absolutely paramount to make the world feel as real as possible and to really flesh out the important characters.
Take GoT for example, the last seasons are both the shortest and by far the worst rated. Of course that was also due to the sudden lack of source material and the hubris of the show runners. But even with how long and often lacking of spectacular action the early seasons were they are still some of the highest rated seasons and episodes of any show ever!
The Witcher Universe has an abundance of adaptable material, and incredible amount of nuanced characters. The show instead decided to make up their own stories and display the characters as caricatures of the originals at best, and rewrite them completely from their core at worst.
I think lack of respect for the source material is by far the biggest problem in Hollywood adaptations right now, and personally I'd love to see even longer seasons for shows like The Witcher, WoT and Lotr as long as they stay true to the world and characters and stop making up these pathetic superficial hollywood parodies of fantastic literature.
Sorry that became a bit of a rant, I just really don't want Hollywood to take away the wrong lesson from a show getting bad reviews... again...

The funniest thing is that this 8 minute long video basically summarizes the 8 hours of season 3 we got in a way that you miss exactly 0% of anything else that happens in the show. Basically, season 3 has almost 7 hours and 52 minutes of padding to it.

I really thought they would mess his face up with his fight with vilgefortz. Then let him recover and explain his face changing (hemsworth replacing cavill in season 3) with some sort of magic or something because he couldn’t get his face to heal. Okay it’s a stretch but it would have made more sense
